Windy City Gridiron Quickie: Where is Jarron Gilbert?

No, seriously.  Is he supposed to be rotated in?  I can't really remember reading anything about him lately or what the coaches plans are for him.  Was he considered a potential starter or a work in progress?

Another random thought:  I can't wait to see which defensive players we draft next year.  Is that crazy?  I know it's lame to look so far ahead, given the season just started, but I just can't wait to see the D infused with some young blood.

Windy City Gridiron Mike Tomlin's Press Conference on Bears

Thought it would be good for all to hear what the opposing teams are saying about our Bears.  Unfortunately, I can't link directly to the his Bears Press Conference, but you should be able to find the link on the page:

Windy City Gridiron Ron Turner reaches out to Shanahan for help with Cutler

I'm quickly becoming a huge fan of Laurence Holmes of 670thescore.com.  I don't know when this happened or why no one else (Brad Biggs) somehow didn't pick up on it first, but here's the excerpt from Holmes blog.  Update:  I want to emphasize that it is unknown when exactly this occurred.  At least one fellow WCGer said this occurred in the preseason or off season.

Windy City Gridiron Orton's finger opened up like a Pez dispenser... barf?

Yessir, that top knuckle popped back like a pez dispenser, tearing right through the skin.... and then they popped it back in.  Cry baby QB?  Hell, I'd probably cry and lose control of my bowels, too.

Windy City Gridiron Deadspin's Why Your Team Sucks: Chicago Bears

I recommend you take this with a grain of salt.  It's meant to be humorous and is obviously written from the perspective of someone who is NOT a Bears fan (as it says in the disclaimer).

Windy City Gridiron Bears Extra Points Credit Card/ Bears Merch

The alternate title to this post would be:  I want my Forte jersey!

Has anyone actually tried getting the Bears credit card that is advertised on the official site?  It seems like a sweet way to score a jersey or other merch, assuming you were going to buy them anyways.

Windy City Gridiron Larry Mayer: Rashied Davis locked in

Given Larry Mayer is kind of a team spokesman, meaning I think he has better say than most journalists, I'm inclined to take his word that Rashied Davis is the #3 WR.

Windy City Gridiron Leslie Frazier as new Bears Coach?

Yes, I'm new to posting on this website, but I've been reading for a while.  Anyways, I thought I'd throw out a random thought to spark discussion.  Consider this:  would you want Leslie Frazier, current D. Coordinator of the Queens, to be the next head coach of your Chicago Bears?
