Mike Brown Not the Worst?

When Matt Millen got the axe in Detroit, I just assumed that Mike Brown would vault to the bottom of any ranking of NFL team personnel. This is, after all, a guy who may give the disgraced former FEMA head a run for his money in the category of least competent Michael Brown. However, along comes Yahoo Sports with a ranking of NFL owners that doesn't place Mike Brown dead last.

Instead, Al Davis gets that spot. Arguably, Davis is being placed there primarily because it is intended to create controversy and make people think, as these sorts of lists are prone to do with picks in certain slots that defy expectations.

Still, you've got to love Michael Silver's description of Mike Brown:

It’s hard to put Brown’s philosophy in its proper context, but here’s a loaded attempt: He’s the 21st century’s answer to a Communist Party bigwig in the Soviet Union’s heyday – gaming a system steeped in shared revenues for his own benefit while setting new standards among his peers for brazen laziness.
