Both the Flemmish Het Nieuwsblad and the Dutch Telegraaf will have articles about exclusive interviews with Lance Armstrong both tomorrow and thursday. If we are to believe the teasers Alberto Contador won't be saving these for his scrap book. Lance is ready for war. Why he goes for the Dutch/Flemmish media is a mystery to me. Maybe because of the TdF start in Rotterdam?

On the Rabobank site there is a great clip about the best of Flecha in the past four years. Almost completely in English and a great watch. I don't know how to link to it directly but maybe someone else can help us out there. The last word Flecha says in the clip is "Kippenvel". (goosebumps). That's what I got from watching this too. Too bad there were not a lot of 1st places in his Rabo years. Wishing him all the best in the future!

Last week saw the 11th birthday of the site that brings you links to the websites of all cycling races around the world. Plus a 24h feed with links to the 20 main cycling news sites. The guy who operates this site as a service to cyclingland has his birthday today too. I know because he is a direct colleague of mine. So, congratulations Cyclinglinks.nl!

It makes me sad. He will be back though. He'll probably be 26 then so he still has a whole cycling life ahead of him.

He set up a new management with Theo de Rooy as chief but Astana chose Martinelli. He does not know these people so he leaves. I think he played a crucial role in east-west diplomacy up till now so a renewed license is becoming less likely every day now. Poor Contador. Caught in a trap, why did he have to ask for a longer contract?
