Titus "sucker punch" maybe over-exaggerated?
Either the so-called sucker punch really has been blown out of proportion, or Burleson is the best PR guy the Detroit front office has at their disposal.
Colin hates Garbage
I hadn't heard the Colin Cowherd audio when I saw the rumblings over twitter yesterday, but I immediately tweeted this:
This morning, I decided to listen to the audio provided by the statesman and it most certainly confirmed my feelings on the matter. But, since I love maths (this is more just "numbers," actually), I decided to interpret Cowherd's definitions he so eloquently stated (read: "he farted out of his mouth").

Brad Edwards note Kellen Moore's consistency.
At least that's what I'm hearing from Chadddd Cripe:
"Great research here from @BradEdwards_BCS. Note Kellen Moore's consistency compared to other QBs."
Special Intern Bucks for anyone with Insider access and fantastical copy/past skills.
Something I nerded up. No bias anywhere, just a reflection on the top 8 in the nation (seed the playoffs NOW, stupid BCS).

Time to give Boise State BCS [title] shot
Thayer Evans normally sides on the "unworthy SOS" argument, but he's seen enough of Boise State this past decade to know that they deserve a chance. And while I don't believe Boise State will be in the title game, I stick to a comment I made yesterday (that was stolen by someone else), "It's hard to believe that history matters so much for other programs, but for a 45-2 Senior laden team, only THIS year matters."
Loque's OBNUG Poll (and more) - Week 6
Just another man's poll. Visit this link to see my poll and other numerical data. You will see my current ranking on the Sheet labeled Wk 6.
Boise State's dominating performance last Friday allowed me to bump them up to a 4th place ranking in my poll (tied for 3rd in OBNUG points). With no wins against "ranked" opponents (explained later), if Boise State played just another mediocre "well, we still have potential" game, I may have ranked them as low as 13th. So, as a biased fan, I was very pleased with their defensive dominance and their versatility on offense.
Forgive me Bronco Nation, for I have sinned. The first time I've ever in my life picked against Boise State (just picked against the spread, to be clear). NEVER AGAIN!
We could learn from this as well
"_What's so hard about it? It's too cold? Wasn't too cold for our players. Wasn't too cold for our coaches or managers or trainers; they're out there..._"
Holgorsen doesn't care about excuses and several times he noted that his team spends the week trying to get better and the fans should do the same. He also pointed out that elite teams don't have to worry about fan support regardless of the opponent.
------------------------
I think Boise State fans could learn from Holgorsen's words, too. Coach Pete challenged us last week and it seems we responded, but we shouldn't be struggling to do this every year.
Loque's OBNUG Poll (and more)
You probably won't like what you see, but I'm providing you with my portion of the OBNUG poll.
At the start of the year, it started with blatant homerism and opinion, but once the number started coming in, I was able to rank in a more balanced and level-headed fashion. Too bad this method won't make any new friends.
My portion of the OBNUG poll is highlighted on preseason and weeks 1-5. Beginning in week 3, I was loosely able to rank all the teams in the FBS.
For fun (because I'm a nerd and I think spreadsheets are oodles of fun), I've also started collecting my very simplistic version of a SOS. I've ranked both individual teams and conferences SOS as they are now and a "predictor" on what SOS will be at the end of the year (if things continue as they are going).
I've also highlighted a "REAL" ranking for now and end of season. It simply ranks teams by the product of their win percentage and my SOS. The predictor puts the whole Big12 in the BCS games and ranks an undefeated Boise State 33rd below a 2-loss Ohio State. No wonder we hate computers so much.
Surgery in the morning. Yup yup
This was posted late last night, so the surgery has either completed of still in process. Best of wishes to Malcolm, he's gone through so much and I hope a speedy recovery. *Channeling DJ Harper's white blood cell count to MJ*
The Patriots are running a multi-threat spread offense that at times goes hurry-up to further keep a defense off balance. The thing is mesmerizing, like Boise State on steroids.

Calling all Videographers
We all know Kellen Moore is often overlooked nationally because he's "not athletic," "too short," and/or makes sandwiches but not wraps. While we know Kellen is not the best rushing threat, we do know that he is plenty athletic but uses it in a different way.
I would like any experienced in video collection and editing to collect material from Kellen's past years and this current year to compile a collection of "Kellen Moore: agility" clips. Him escaping tackles, sacks, evading rushers, changing the play based on a blitzing defense, rushes for first downs, and/or tackling a defender he intentionally throws an interception to.
Even if you don't do editing yourself, perhaps you know a Boise State fan on YouTube or elsewhere that you might suggest this idea to as well.
We all know Kellen deserves more respect for his latent athleticism, and I think if those fans talented enough to attempt this would be doing a great thing for Kellen Moore. The more videos the better. Please post them on OBNUG.com when they are done and I'll publish them to as many national media people I know on twitter.
Thank you for your time.

Boise's defensive line dominance not just because of "easy" schedule.
The nerds over at football study hall rank Boise State's defensive line at #2. This comes as no surprise to anyone North of the mason dixon line.
Thank you, national media, for that shoulder chip.
The Boise State football team’s wide receivers have been making leaping, diving, sliding catches all over the practice field in the first four days of fall camp — serving early notice that the passing attack will not wither without Austin Pettis and Titus Young.
"We all have a little bit of a chip on our shoulder," senior wide receiver Tyler Shoemaker said. "We’ve really heard from the media around the country that the receivers are gone and who’s (quarterback Kellen Moore) going to throw it to now? We’ve got guys to throw it to."
Flashback Friday: Coach Pete orders DQ Blizzards.
Don't worry Kevan, I'm not angry. I think OBNUG is great - you know we put Doug Martin in as starter mostly due to your analysis? That's why I'm here, actually.

Many of you new OBNUGgers don't know that it was Drew that predicted the coming of the Muscle Hamster.
Poll: Would you give up the blue turf for a PAC-12 invite?
Ed's note: This story originally appeared as a FanPost, and I promoted it to the main feed because, seriously, giving up the blue turf? That's wild, man. Keep in mind this is purely hypothetical, but still ...
What would you do?
The answer I'd love to give is that no real conference would ask a school to lose their tradition on condition (a little jab at the Mountain West Conference there). My immediate reaction is to say no way. But saying "No" would mean we may never get an AQ status invite or be excluded from a Super-Conference whenever college football Armageddon happens. Some fans would forsake Boise State if they "made the deal with the devil" as well.
So, answer this question as if it were not hypothetical and the proposal was real. What would you choose? [voting ends Sunday evening]

Kellen Moore is getting MARRIED?!
".. a week from Saturday Moore is getting married. Certainly not as public a happening as Ian and Chrissy Johnson’s wedding four years ago. Especially since it’s going to be in Park City."

Bronco Nation Podcast: How did we miss this?
It's a week old and it wasn't posted to OBNUG?! I know JT Ray has his own blog, but if you haven't heard the BNP, you should start now.
JT solos this podcast, but normally has the OBNUG Intern and tbHawkes. They're both regulars, but the Intern was probably too busy playing with his new EVO 3D. No idea where tb was, but JT has an idea mentioned in the podcast.

NCAA 12 Player Ratings
We're in the PAC-12! We're in the PAC-12!
Ok... not really. But this roster preview puts us in for some reason. Boise State roster begins are 2 mins 18 seconds
Kellen Moore at 98, sounds good.
Doug Martin at 94 .. this will make him mad. Especially when his lowest rating is strength (73). Shiloh Keo only wishes that were true.
Another Boise State: An Epic Ascent preview. Really wish I could watch this programming one day.

CFN agrees S. Carolina biggest game for Richt, not Boise
And I completely agree. If Georgia wants to be back on the map, they need to win their conference games. The only thing they need to do against Boise State is play competitive. Losing a close game against Boise can garner the excuses of "it was the first game of the season" or "they were looking ahead to South Carolina." But an awful showing versus the Broncos wouldn't be able to be excused.
Should BSU Athletics Ban Student Athletes from Social Media?
JT Ray at the Bronco Nation Podcast (BNP) poses an extremely pointed and important question, particularly to me because I have a whole list of Bronco football athletes past, present, and future. While I try not to communicate extensively with the boys, I find that having a connection with them helps them to feel more like everyday people.
So, what are your feelings on the matter?
