Born a Broncos fan. I am very passionate about my team and about life in general. I grew up in Fort Collins and loved watching John Elway grow as a player and end the right way, going out on top. Have been behind the Broncos all my life even the tough years and am willing to stand behind them no matter what.
I now live in Seattle, WA and have a son I hope to turn into a huge Broncos fan as well.

Great article on who Tim Tebow is
The whole nation is excited to see our team now that Tim Tebow is playing. This is the most excited I have been about this team in a long time!

Gotta love this from Don Banks
Don gives his commentary on Tebow bashing as well as how well BQ is doing.
Welcome to Kick-Tim-Tebow-While-He's-Down Week. If you believe some reports, the Denver lefty is running fifth on the Broncos' four-man quarterback depth chart, barely in front of 51-year-old John Elway (who is well-liked by the team's front office). The talking heads are fighting each other to bash Tebow's form, and his future at the position (No, no, Boomer, you've had your chance. Go wait over there, behind Merrill, until your turn comes up again), and I'm pretty sure any day now the Broncos are going to move Tebow's locker to a storage room near their loading dock.
Brandon Marshall
So happy that this guy doesn't play for the Broncos anymore!
Brandon Marshall - WR - Dolphins Incident reports released by the Broward Sheriff's Office show that Brandon Marshall had three or four cuts on each of his wrists in addition to the wound on his abdomen after a domestic disturbance in April.
As expected, Marshall didn't simply "slip on a vase." Police found several heavy trails of blood throughout the house in addition to a loaded .380 semi-automatic handgun and a 13-inch kitchen knife -- both covered in blood. Marshall's wife had a bruise on her cheek and cuts on her fingers and foot. A total of nine officers, including a K-9 unit and a Special Victims Unit, arrived on the scene. The Broward State Attorney’s Office has opted not to press charges.
The results of futility, a divided fan base
I felt a gambit of emotions during the debacle yesterday and a lot of it is rage, shock and amazement. It didn't even dawn on me that yesterday was going to end up the way it did. Wtih a result like that everyone has to review their thoughts of this team and what it is and where it is going. I for one and pissed about where we are and don't believe any of us can possibly understand where this team is going.
Some further thoughts after the jump....
Some odd decisions with the game on the line
These are two things that I totally didn't understand as well as complained about during the game. We seem to get burned deep on 3rd and 4th and long situations which is inexcusable. Also, Kyle should be able to catch, otherwise take him out of the game on these formations.
From Easterbrook:
News from Backgammon Field: Forget whether Renaldo Hill of Denver committed pass interference at the Broncos' 2 with 1:26 remaining, setting up the winning touchdown for Jersey/B -- how did a Jets receiver get so deep single-covered? At the snap it was Denver leading 20-17, Jersey/B facing fourth-and-6 on the Broncs' 48. Denver rushed five, leaving six to cover four. Yet Santonio Holmes was alone down the sideline nearly to the end zone. In the replay you can't even locate the Denver safeties, they were so far out of position.
Score tied at 17, Denver had reached fourth-and-10 on the Jets' 35 with 5:26 remaining. Tim Tebow came in at quarterback and ran twice for a net of 5 yards, then Kyle Orton threw incomplete, then Denver kicked a field goal. When Tebow lined up at quarterback, Orton lined up way wide -- and both times, no one from Jersey/B covered Orton, who simply stood there watching. That meant 11 defenders could oppose the 10 offensive players involved in the Tebow runs -- which nullifies the whole tactical reason for a Wildcat formation, namely, to make the rush 11-on-11. If Denver wants Tebow for Wildcat snaps, Orton should either be a pass receiving target or come out, replaced by a blocker. The fizzle of the two Tebow rushes set the stage for the visitors' win.
You read it here first
In seeing all of the stories about our QB's recently and thinking a great deal about it myself I had to share my prediction for the Broncos QB status for the 2010 season (barring any injuries).
If you are intrigued follow me after the jump

Simmer down now....
I have to say that I am a very passionate person in every aspect of my life. I am almost always the loudest person watching Broncos games, listening to the radio, or having a polite conversation. I get a strong feeling that people are over-reacting to the departure of Mike Nolan and wanted to try to find some way to calm people down. It seems that everyone is reacting in a way very similiar to when Shannahan was fired a year ago. I want to give my reasons for feeling that it was time for Shannahan to go and why I feel that Nolan moving on is ok based on us finding a good replacement.
Details after the jump but before all of that I want to repeat a saying that I find to be a good reminder to me (I have been working with my wife on bringing our home "back from the dead" for 6 years)...It goes something like, "Anything worth building and building well takes time." Something we should understand and possibly provide the benefit of the doubt to Josh McDaniels.

Happy with our DB's, and who we don't have
Another reason to believe McD may have known something others couldn't see, from Gregg Easterbrook and TMQ
Single Worst Play of the Season -- So Far: San Francisco trailing 35-10, Dre' Bly of the Squared Sevens intercepted a pass and saw green in front of him. Bly started showboating for the home crowd at his own 40, then was caught from behind by Roddy White -- one of the league's fastest players, the sort of thing Bly is paid to know -- and fumbled. Atlanta ball. Showboating when you are about to score the winning points, as Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie did for Arizona, is bad enough. Showboating on your own 40 and when your team is down by 25 points is inexcusable. Dre' Bly, you are guilty of the single worst play of the season -- so far.
An interesting thought about some former Broncos
After reading about what happened to the Houston Texans yesterday and knowing this is a big year for Gary Kubiak, a guy I have rooted for since he left the Broncos, I got to thinking. Shanahan will be back next year, I am sure of that. It seems Kubiak may be out of a job at the end of the season because he has not been able to get his team over the hump and into the playoffs. How wild would it be to see Shanahan coaching a team next year with Kubiak as his Offensive Coordinator?
Just had to share the thought and see what everyone thinks. My apologies if I am bringing up a sore subject. I for one am happy with the new FO and the changes we have made and am wondering how it will feel to see Shanahan on the sidelines for another team.
Interesting view of Brandon Marshall's mentality
Here Scoop Jackson gives some insight into BMarsh's mind when he was acting like a little child. Interesting way to look at things and probably where he was coming from but very immature still. Also interesting how the comments on the article immediately go into racially focused diatriabe. As was stated within a post a few weeks back I think think this whole situation is a bigger comment on our society. It seems BM is a very sensitive person. I am still of the opinion we should find a way to move him, a dangerous football player and dangerous person.
A new very difficult question to ask...
This offseason has already been incredibly difficult for Bronco nation. So many are conflicted after Shanny was dismissed and shocked when a kid was brought in to run the team...then there was the old Jay Cutler drama (I do not care for the McJay Gate nomer). What comes next? Something that may be coming to a head this week.
HC interview process
In the last few weeks after seeing the new Broncos take shape and get to understand who Josh McDaniels is and his background (thanks to MHR) I have been thinking about the interviews that Bowlen conducted to replace Shannahan. I have come to understand not only why McD was brought in but why Bowlen was head over heels over Josh.
In my mind the interview went something like this:
McD "I will bring in character guys and focus on team first, no one is bigger than the team. We will have intelligent players and schemes in all 3 phases of the game that will challenge our players and will challenge our opponents. We will focus on players that the community can be proud of and will bring in leaders immediately this offseason. The team will be completely different than it is now but we will be competitive immediately. There may be a difficult transition but everyone on the team must believe in our direction and we will absolutely fight to win the SB every year. We will attack on O, D and ST. People may not understand some of the moves we make and you may not understand them but they will ultimately make us a stronger team."
Thinking through the most dramatic transition of the offseason (this is the last time I will write about this past sitatuion) now having some perspective I don't think we knew anything near the truth for either side at the time but feel that it worked out best for both sides. In hearing how tough McD is on QB's in pratice (and how hard he always was on Tom Brady) I don't think Jay would have taken well to being shouted at after he made all the decisions for the Broncos the last few years on offense. I think both Jay and Josh knew this and they both knew inside that they needed to separate. Neither wanted to be seen as the one to force the move but both wanted the change to happen. In the end both are happy with the change that happened and Josh gets his fresh start in Denver with 3 new QB's that fit his system well.
I can't wait to see this team on the field!!!!!
Thanks MHR for keeping me informed of all things Broncos. I owe my smile to you.

Are you a Broncos fan?????
First post, I just found MHR last week and it makes me giddy to have so much Broncos info.
I must volunteer, I grew up screaming at John Elway every week. I have been a Broncos fan (the full fanatic is really the correct term) for as long as I can remember. I get a true adrenaline rush when watching close games, when the season starts and more than anything want to be able to watch each and every game (often to my wife's frustration). I bleed predominantly orange and blue.
I also love the game of football, the schemes, the hits, the moves...it is a game that is both graceful and jarring. The perfect mix of cerebral planning and pure physical exertion.
As a Broncos fan I must say that I am not always the most levelheaded in my following. I am always hopeful for the next season and always second-guessing plays. I have been known to scream when a wild pass is intercepted from a Bronco QB (there have been a lot of instances of this with Jay and Jake). More than anything though I am a Broncos fan and supporter. If the Broncos had kept the Mastermind I would have supported them and hoped for the best in 09 and done everything in my power to believe that things would work out and we might win the SB. Although I must say the case was quite easy to make on why Bowlen got rid of Shanny (one playoff win in 10 years, 3 DC's in 3 years, more and more blowouts in which the team wasn't remotely competitive, Travis Henry, Dale Carter, Maurice Clarett,...). The truth is that Shanny hasn't done anything since Elway and TD left. I could see it as a fan but was going to support my team no matter what. I thought I had it easy, the fans in Detroit not only have a city that is falling apart at the seams they have a team that didn't win a game all last season.
Then the Broncos hired Josh McDaniels. I was surprised, I was convinced that with my armchair expertise that the Giants DC was the best choice for the team (note I will call him Spags for lack of desire to look up how to correctly write his name). I was hopeful but a little confused, the Giants beat the Pats in the SB based on their D and the Broncos haven't had a D since their SB teams and now we hire a OC as HC?
The point is I could go on forever on how I question everything that goes on and analyze it. The fact is McDaniels knows his stuff and once again true Broncos fans are lucky and have a lot to look forward to. The offence is going to be fun to watch (something it hasn't been for a while, it has been very predictable for years and the key was we had to hang all of our hopes on Cutler), with a lot of looks and what should be plenty of points. The D has some great talent (Champ, Dawkins, Ayers, DJ) and what I see as the best scheme in the 3-4. We will be a smart team and a team that is aggressive in all aspects of the game. Plenty to cheer for.
So what I am asking is for the hate to stop. I see it everywhere, on each post in the DP there a ton of hate, for the writers and the coach. The stories might not be the greatest but guys, chill out. If you are a Broncos fan you will support the team through the changes and hope that the changes work out for the best. Otherwise you aren't a Broncos fan at all and you can watch Bears games or take a year off and watch whoever the Mastermind is coaching in 2010. Whatever the situation, from what I understand this is a site for fans so cheer on your team and have some hope (I know hope is in short supply nationally right now and that fear is selling like hotcakes but really). In the end there could be a lockout soon and you won't have any NFL to watch so value that we will be competitive and that Bowlen does all he can to make the team successful.
Oh, and by the way....the Mastermind was a great salesman to make everyone think that our goal was to win the SB every year when we had won one playoff game in 10 years. For some reason we were always one season away. I loved and still love Shanny but more than anything I love that our HC is now McBoyWonder. The FNG knows football and even better he wants to make sure that his players are something the community can be proud of.
Now that is something I can cheer for.
Go Broncs
