Hey my name is Lenny. From Medinah, a Chicago suburb. Die-hard Chicago sports fan, hate the Sox, and love Notre Dame. I go to the University of Iowa and study engineering, so the Hawkeyes kick ass as well.

Just announced at the Convention, Cubs to add Patio and 70 ft LED Screen beyond RF bleachers.
Unfortunately, picture isn't the best of quality. The seats above the screen remind me of the Monster Seats at Fenway.

Cubs Fire GM Jim Hendry
First saw it from this Bruce Miles tweet..
@BruceMiles2112: Report Hendry out as #Cubs GM. Checking
This was at 10:10 AM today.
Also, on MLBTR at about the same time...
Jim Hendry is out as the Cubs' GM, according to Chicago sportscaster David Kaplan (onTwitter).
Hendry's contract runs through 2012, and to be honest I am suprised if these reports are true. I mean I totally think he needs to be shown the way out, but didn't see it actually happeningNo complete verification yet, but let's see what happens.
UPDATE: 10:20 AM
From twitter.....
@BruceMiles2112: Official. #Cubs fire Hendry
And
@BruceMiles2112: #Cubs name asst GM Randy Bush interim GM

NFC North vs. the Salary Cap
I know there is just about one FA post a day here lately at WGC, but I thought this was something that should be shared.
Although the salary cap is not determined yet, John Clayton of ESPN projects that the cap for the upcoming season will be about 120 million dollars, a 9 percent decrease in the last cap from 2009. How does that fare for the Bears and the rest of the North? Kevin Siefert breaks down each team.

First time to Fenway/Boston, need some pointers
Hey Sox fans, Cubs fan here. Im totally pumped for our showdown it late May at your place for the first time since 1918. It's not often the opportunity comes up, so I'm going to be coming to Fenway for the series ending game on Sunday. My main question for you is where should I sit?
I've been looking at tickets all over the web, and I think I've narrowed it down to a few...
Row1 of Section 12 of the Pavilion Deck
Row 1, Bleacher 36 (Straight away CF)
Row 5, Bleacher 86 (RF Corner
Row 1, Infield Grandstand 20 or 26 (Straight behind home plate, and even with 3B)
Another question, any suggestions on what to do in the city or where to eat somewhat near the ballpark???
Thanks alot and I am very intrigued to watch and see how you guys do with Crawford and Gonzo, you guys have no ceiling with that offense I think.
Golden Gopher Down!
Kudos to Dan Shuf at State St. Sports. Gotta love to see a Gopher get owned.
Marmol Closing in the Offseason: Long Term Deal
According to MLB Trade Rumors via Fred Mitchell and David Kaplan, the Chicago Cubs and Carlos Marmol are closing in on a long term deal. I haven't seen any details anywhere, but I think this is a good move.
Tweeting with the Cubs
Does anyone know of any Cubs on Twitter? Also, Im curious as to who are some of your favorite sports people to follow?
National Championship: The Drunken Game
With just a weekend sitting between now and the end of a great (well, sort of) season of college football, I'm wondering how am I going to enjoy this game? I know we don't really want to remember too much of the Hawkeyes season, but the question is do we want to remember any of the National Championship?? NO. Win or lose, we still booze. My challenge for you: help me devise a drinking game for Monday Nights showdown between the Ducks and the Tigers. GO!
Looking for answer to Trivia Question
I was looking at MLBTR today and got down to where I saw Mark Reynolds to the Orioles. It said that he hit .198 and hit 30 home runs last year. My question is what is the lowest batting average ever for a guy who hit 30 HR in a season, and who was it? I have no clue where to look. Thanks for your help.
Great Story About A Former Bear
THE Gregory Thomas Waddle. Voice from ESPN 100 Waddle and Silvy. I was listening to their show on Monday morning on my drive back to school from Chicago to Iowa City (I was at the game on Sunday). There was an interesting email that was sent into the show...
Chances at the National Title Still Alive?
We are currently ranked 18th in the AP Top 25. As far as I'm concerned, I know we are still one of the Top 10 teams in the country. Our actually ranking doesn't say so, we didn't show that we were on Saturday, but a lot of us can agree that many of the bad things that happened in that game Saturday were flukes. In my opinion, if I had to pick one game this season to lose, it would be this last one. A loss early in the year, away, and against a solid opponent typically doesn't end the title hopes of a preseason Top 10 team.
So my question to you is, do we still have a chance to get to the National Title Game in January? Read more after the jump.
Sports Nation: Hubbard Park
For the crowd within this blog that is currently in Iowa City, next Tuesday Colin Cowherd and Michelle Beadle are coming to Iowa City and broadcasting live at 3 PM. Also Tuesday morning at 9AM, Colin Cowherd will be doing his radio show at Hubbard Park. I dont know about you guys but since the show started it has become one of my favorite shows on ESPN, not to mention Michelle Beadle is a fox. Here is the complete article from UI's athletic website.
Just a little help for a Visitor
Hawkeye in the house.....
Talk all the smack you want, I'm just waiting for revenge. Speaking of which, I am a Chicagoland area Hawkeye and I plan on coming to Ryan Field this fall. I am currently looking on stubhub for tickets and I have a question. So I can stay out of all of your hair, does anyone know which section(s) is the visitors section(s)?
Thanks for your help in advance.
Help with Tickets
Hello there Twins fans. Im looking to come up next weekend from Chicago to go to one of the Rangers games. I know on BCB (Bleed Cubbie Blue), there is a fan ticket exchange. Is there anything of that sort here on TT that I'm missing? If not, Im looking for 2 tickets for Friday's game if anyone would like to sell some, or where would be the best place to look? Do you think I could just buy them on gameday?
Dusty is at it again.
Good read on former Cubs manager Dusty Baker and his effect on young pitchers.
Slightly OT?: Fantasy Baseball
Hey, I'm just starting to do my homework for fantasy baseball this season, and I thought I would get some ideas from other people. I was wondering where do people go for their information each year... Do you get it from a magazine, a website? What magazines or websites do you like best/least? Do you use the same sources each year? And also, please feel free to say anything else you want about this upcoming fantasy season.
**I wasn't sure to make this a fanpost or fanshot, so excuse me if it's in the wrong place. I figured enough people here would be interested that it could be a fanpost.**
Help with Cubs W Flag
I just ordered a Cubs W flag and I'm pretty sure I was sent a defective flag. Im not sure if it is, but my W is not centered and it is also italicized.. Can someone confirm to me that I have a faulty flag?
