Bleeding Green Nation How good is Kolb really?

I've got one more day before my spring break starts and i've completley checked out. However all this trade talk and waiting has been killing me.

I need some educating. This is not another post about why or why not Donovan should stay. I'm not making any claims or statements. I just need some help, and possibly a history lesson.

Bleeding Green Nation I did alot of thinking today..

After i stopped bashing my head against the wall of my dorm room i sat back and tried to reason with the recent developments in the football world.

We've all been pissed off the past few days, especially me. Every offseason the eagles do relatively well ...

2009- Peters, Weaver, Andrews (i guess) Jones, Hobbs, etc. etc.

-Granted some of them came threw trades we did add alot of depth, regardless of how shitty Andrews and Jones were.

2008- Asante Samuel....(right off the top of my head, cant think of anyone else, i apologize)

-Dont really need to go into this one. Blockbuster deal. Really great

2004- Kearse and He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named

-Superbowl year. whatup.

So yes, it is only day 3 of FA and we havent done anything. The recent holes in our defense are killing the team and every fan that follows it. We've missed out on numerous trades and pickups. Here have been the active teams so far:

Bears: J Peppers, C Taylor,  B Malumaleuansdnfaklsdhfadshfashjfshjaldsjf

Giants: Antrel Rolle.....bastards

Cardinals: Rhodes...as well as trading and cutting a few other players

Lions: vanden bosh, Burleson, some DT from Cleveland i guess..

So basically what i'm getting at is there have only been a few teams really "doin' work". This uncapped year has put a strain on the free agent pool, making most good players restricted. Lets remember were not the only silent team here. Off the top of my head i can think of a few teams who havent really done anything either...

Colts, Chargers, Raiders, Panthers, Most of the AFC West, the Obama Administration, Stupid-dirty-Cowgirls,etc. ....

so yes, i am going against my emotions here and trying to rationalize everything, and in turn agree with most patient people on BGN that have been telling us to calm down. I guess we  really do have to wait. If Andy Reid and Co along with this new guy Roseman have something up they're sleeve then well have to wait and see. (if not then they all suck and i have completely lost faith in this front office) but i highly doubt the latter.

When the big one happens i think it'll be that much better.

Bleeding Green Nation You have to be f*cking kidding

Well the Jets just traded Kerry Rhodes to the safety-desperate Cardinals....for a fourth and a seventh

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/03/06/jets-trade-kerry-rhodes-to-cardinals/

Im not going to say hes the best safety in the NFL, but come the fuck on Reid and Co. Thats a fucking steal!!!!!!!!! idk what is going on in that front office but im getting really really worried.

this is just another dissapointment. I really have no idea what is going to happen next. i really hope we step up and do something quickly.

Bleeding Green Nation Rolle to Giants

Yeah...i couldnt beleive it either.

Rolle and Giants

the NY Giants have made Antrel Rolle the highest paid safety in the NFL.

Again another heartbreak for the Eagles. All thats left is washed up Aaron Kampman and some other veterans. I cannot beleive the eagles did nothing to get this guy. I am virtually speechless. Unless we get Ed Reed, Patrick Willis and Mario Williams tomorrow in some godlike trade i will not be happy with this offseason. way to sit around and do nothing Joe Banner and company. Thank you for nothing so far.

Bleeding Green Nation Merriman

(ok this is my first post so please be gentle)

Trade talks have been swirling recently with the approaching Trade Deadline. Much of which has been around Brady Quinn of the Browns. However i recently came across this today;

"Some personnel people believe Chargers LB Shawne Merriman isn’t untouchable. Judging by the comments from general manager A.J. Smith, it doesn’t seem like a lock that Merriman is a part of the Chargers’ future plans. I’d be stunned if he received a long-term contract from them anytime soon."

I know hes been injured lately but hes a real power house. I don't feel like he'd leave unless someone gave up a lot to get him. For arguments sake, do you think Philly would make a play for him? if so how would it help the D?
