I am Married with no children but I do have a pet schnauzer named Jamaica who is like a child. I've been a Wildcat fan as long as I can remember. My parents use to let me take a nap and then get up late on a school night and watch delayed broadcasts of UK games back when I was a kid before VCRs and TiVo.
I have many interests outside of UK basketball including music. I play piano, guitar, and write.
I actually will pull for UL if they do not play Kentucky these days. A habit I picked up when I watched them from 10,000 miles away in the military. Still, while I pull for UL, I am a UK fanatic.

A Sea Of Blue The Real Last Great Game: Rupp Arena Re-visited

The Real Last Great Game: Rupp Arena Re-visited

As I drove across the newly re-opened Sherman Minton Bridge this morning on my way to work, I thought about my perfect Saturday afternoon. Yesterday afternoon with my wife, I made my second trip to Rupp arena. It was my first full game there. My first trip, now two years past, was cut short by work obligations. I had stayed late at the Indiana factory where I work to make sure an important machine would run. I was the system expert and unfortunately I was needed. I missed a good deal of the game.

A Sea Of Blue Half Full or Half Empty?

It seems we fans are starting to fall into two camps, Half-Full and Half-Empty.  I share KyWineman’s optimism and decidedly fall in the former.  Here is why:

A Sea Of Blue My First Trip To Rupp

Yes, I  have a confession of sorts.  A declaration.  An announcement.  After being a UK fan since my birth, lets say at least 4 Championships ago, I finally have tickets to a game.  Morehead,  I'll be in the cheap seats feeling like a million!  I'll be the one in all blue.  Even bought my wife a UK shirt.  Her first believe it or not.  She'll be the one asking what a rebound is.  She'll be the one looking too good to be hanging out with that guy explaining the importance of boxing out. She will also be in all blue.

Any pointers would be appreciated.  What are your "First Trip" stories?  Parking?  Staying the night?  After party spot?  With any luck this will be the first of many trips.  Go Cats!
