There were a few of us who liked him over Chad Simpson. Maybe TN kept that game film where he ran them over.

In this article, Indianapolis Business Journal discusses the potential impact going to uncapped football would have on small market NFL teams including the Colts.

They also mention that Manning is up for a new contract in 2010, and that a few teams with some more money could lure him away from his beloved Colts...........RIGHT.

Stampede Blue Do we need a Booger this year?

All of you know that back in 2006 we acquired Booger Mcfarland from Tampa Bay.  I started to wonder this morning if any of these teams that are having a terrible start to the year, will have a "firesale" as BBS put it back then, to acquire draft picks for next season.

My question is, do the 2009 Colts need a Booger type transaction to help push this team over the top?  Mcfarland's contribution to the super bowl team really counted when it mattered most.  A lot of us wouldnt disagree with that.

I guess it would depend on where this team needs improvement, and the available players. I personally think the team would be fine without a pickup, but wouldnt be upset if Polian pulled off something unexpected and awesome.

A special teams player possibly?

A RG worth picking up that would be an improvement?

Opinions, ideas?

Stampede Blue The Colts go 8-8

according to Adam Schein.

last week on Sirius radio he announced his predictions for every NFL team.  I emailed him to ask for his list of games he predicts the Colts lose, but to no avail.

Here's a link to his story on Fox sports

According to his picks, if Indy were to go 8-8 they would be in the same grouping as

Washington 7-9

Minnesota 7-9

San Fran 8-8

Among some others.

And only 3 games better than the Lions.  are you serious!?

That's right, the genius of Adam Schein who gets paid to do this stuff, thinks that the Lions have improved so much, and the Colts have taken so many steps back, that there is a mere 3 game difference between the two teams. Didnt Indy win 12 games last year.........and the Lions won......well, we all know how many they won.  Making predictions in the pre-season is a risky move.  Even though we've watched 4 games this last month,  today we will finally see what the team really has to offer the fans this year.

We all have to be realistic and say that the Colts will fall from grace at some point in time.  i personally dont believe it to be this year.  i also dont believe that the team will tank as long as Manning is at the helm and playing at a high level.

Go Colts!!!!!!

Stampede Blue Colts training camp, live broadcast on 8/4

Every year Sirius NFL radio visits every team's training camp for a few hours.  Its always pretty good as they will have a decent amount of interviews and some analysis on how the hosts think the team looks.  Obviously the quality of the analysis varies depending on whoever they send out.

If you have the opportunity to listen to the radio on the internet at work (which I do) they will broadcast live on Tuesday 8/4 at 12pm Eastern.

if you dont have a Sirius account, its pretty easy to sign up for a free account to listen on the internet.

click here to go to the Sirius player (sign up on the bottom left of the player)

i cant believe training camp is right around the corner!  wooooooooooo

enjoy

Stampede Blue Alex Marvez lists Colts as one of NFL's biggest losers this offseason

Indianapolis: A consistent double-digit winner under retired coach Tony Dungy, the Colts may find their future less rosy under replacement Jim Caldwell. "I'm not sure everybody's on the same page in this building," quarterback Peyton Manning recently said. The recent resignation of two key offensive coaches — Tom Moore (coordinator) and Howard Mudd (line) — hurts. There also were changes at defensive coordinator and special teams coach. Personnel-wise, there is no clear heir apparent for departed wide receiver Marvin Harrison. Tennessee will enter the season as the AFC South favorite — a position the Colts have held most of this decade.

i guess the Colts are lumped together with Denver and the Redskins as the top 3 biggest losers this offseason.   Of course New England is automatically on the list of biggest winners.  Erase the names in his description of the Pats offseason and plug in a few Colts players names and it could describe either teams offseason.  Does this guy know that although Tony Dungy was/is an all time great, the guy didnt actually get on the field and make any plays.

Male Pattern Fitness Its that time of year...

Greetings!

i just found this blog a few days ago on SB Nation and im pretty excited about it!

ok i got that out of the way, on with whats on my mind.

Every year around this time, i shift from doing small amounts of cardio and heavier lifting, to a large amount of cardio and more moderate lifting.....as do lots of people who exercise.

here's my  dilemma......

i always struggle to do my normal leg workouts and keep up a cardio schedule.  i  end up in a situation where i have to choose my cadio over squats because i always just get too sore for both.  ive had this problem even when i cut back on the weight.  then over the summer of little to no heavy lifting for my legs i lose my gains i worked hard for all winter.

so its either, dont ride my bicycle to the gym and do the cardio that i want.  or continue the never ending cycle of making some gains, then going back to square one on my squats etc.....

im sure someone out there feels my pain.  anyone find a good plan that allows them to have their cake and eat it too?

Stampede Blue Colts might re-sign Keiaho

according to the Indianapolis Star the Indianapolis Colts might re-sign Freddie Keiaho.

http://www.indystar.com/article/20090428/SPORTS03/90428064

here is a link to the story on Indystar.com

this wouldnt be a bad move in my personal opinion.  its obvious they waited until after the draft to see if they could find some talent there.  since the team opted not to draft anyone at linebacker, why not bring back someone who can at least contribute on special teams.

Stampede Blue John Madden retiring

http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/entertainment/43097312.html

According to this article John Madden has decided to retire from broadcasting.  Good for him, he's had a great career associated with the NFL and deserves to have a little more time to enjoy life outside of the world of football.

"It's time. I'm 73 years old.  My 50th wedding anniversary is this fall. I have two great sons and their families and my five grandchildren are at an age now when they know when I'm home and, more importantly, when I'm not..."

Quote from the beginning of the article.
