2012 Longhorns Starting QB Davi.....Bo Wallace??
JUCO QB Bo Wallace has an offer from Miss St and will take official visits to Indiana, Baylor and then to Texas in Austin. [source: news buzzing around the net] Rumor has it Harsin and the QB have been in intensive talks. Watch highlights from Bo Wallace's championship game. 6 5' 215 lbs
Teams with a Realistic Shot at the National Title Game
This has been on my mind the whole day. My opinion and the order of likeliness ( also according to me)
1) LSU/Alabama Winner
- Win out and make it to the national championship game
- Obstacles: If LSU wins vs Bama, they still have to play Arkansas in the last game of the regular season. If Alabama wins, their hardest opponent is Auburn. Winner of SEC West must play the SEC East...they hope it's South Carolina and not a upstart Georgia team
- Likeliness of making NC game: Very likely (my prediction is LSU over Bama)
2) Clemson
- This is assuming Stanford drops one (has to play Oregon USC and Pac-12 SOuth winner (AZ St) )
- Also assuming OSU drops to OU, which in my opinion is very likely
- Very reasonable remaining schedule (games against WF, ACC Coastal champ, GT, and SC)
- Likeliness of making NC game: somewhat. They will probably drop a game, even though they will be favored in their remaining games
3) Stanford/OSU (tie)
- If OSU or Stanford win out, they will make the title game. If both win out, OSU will make it over Stanford
- Stanford has tough road (has to play Oregon USC and Pac-12 SOuth winner (AZ St) ). I would argue that Stanford's remaining schedule is tougher than OSU's
- OSU has tough road ( KState, OU, TT)
- Likeliness of making NC game: somewhat likely
4) Boise St
- Games vs TCU and SDSU remain
- They will probably win out
- As Georgia keeps on winning, their computer numbers go up
- Likeliness of making NC game: somewhat likely/likely. They've been punished before and voters may want to give them a chance. I also like that the team manages expectations very well. I also predict that OSU will lose to OU and Stanford will lose to Oregon. If both teams lose, BSU deserves a chance to play in the championship. Over an undefeated Clemson. And a one loss SEC team
5) Bama/LSU loser / OU/Oregon
- I just don't see that happening this year. If LSU is the loser in this game, it has a better chance than if Bama is the loser because of strength of schedule.
- OU has a shot if they beat OSU and Bama/LSU loser has two losses, BSU Clemson Stanford all lose.
- Oregon needs to win out and needs alot of help
- Likelihood: not very likely...I don't see a one loss team getting in this year. I honestly believe there will be two undefeated teams in the championship this year.
Who do y'all think will be playing in the championship?
My prediction: LSU vs Boise St
Official: Longhorns trio declare
CoJo and TT did not sign with agents. JHam plans to.
Jordan Hamilton's Official Website
Official sign that hes leaving? The site is managed by TuxPR which does PR for other pro athletes
http://www.tuxpr.com/
Edit: Go look under clientele on the tuxpr website. It confrims that JHam is a 2011 NBA draft prospect just like Chris Singleton
"Jordan Hamilton (2011 NBA Draft Prospect)"
Harrison Smith: Where is he now?
Everyone remembers Smith as the walk on who wowed us with his 12 point performance in a loss @ OSU two years ago. He transferred to Stephen F. Austin, then transferred again to Texas Southern University, where the school is tied for 1st place in its division and making a run for a trip to the NCAA tournament.
Andrew Luck NOT declaring for draft
Wow. Say hello to another 11-1 Season Mr. Luck. Why would you not want to be the #1 draft pick. Could mean Jim H is staying at Stanford
Aaron Williams going pro?
Aaron Williams will leave if he gets a first round grade. My guess is that he will receive a 2nd or third round grade (already a couple of good CBs a lock for the first round: see prince amukamara/ PP@LSU). I think he still leaves
Your Heisman Picks through Week 2
After 2 weeks of play, we've gotten a little better idea of who will or should be considered in the Heisman race. Im actually not a big fan of individual awards but there have been lots of players carrying there teams so far this year..Please keep in mind these are just random thoughts on my mind and I basically wanted to see what others on here thought who the best CFB players are right now.
What we know: Mark Ingram missing two games isnt helping him make him a two time winner. Texas probably isn't going to have a heisman trophy winner this year. Tyrod Taylor, Christian Ponder, Josh Nesbitt are probably eliminated from the race
Puzzling: How will missing one game affect LaMichael James race for the heisman?
With that said...My top picks, in no specific order
1. Denard Robinson: Carrying his team. Threw for 200+ and ran for an amazing 250+ yds against ND
2. Kendall Hunter: week 1 ran for over 200, week two ran for over 150 yds. He IS the OSU offense
3. Terelle Pryor: I dont like him but hes putting up decent numbers, plus he has an advantage since hes a preseason favorite
4. Kellen Moore: Hes a winner. Led the game winning TD drive against the Hokies.
5.Noel Devine: Carries WVU on his shoulder. Makes up 75% of the offense.
Darkhorse: Ryan Mallet/Arkansas, Cameron Netwon/Auburn, Marcus Lattimore/South Carolina, Case Keenum/houston, DeMarco Murray/OU,
Thoughts?
BTW: Acho81 has a great writeup on Heisman hopefuls here

Jordan Hamilton is Returning
Jordan hamilton is returning. he will be wearing the #3 instead of #23. Hopefully he will return and provide some leadership and play like he did towards the end of the season. I think he was possibly the best player on the team (beside DJ) at the end. Since Avery is testing and most likely declaring, we will need J Ham to step up and fill the void when DJ leaves.

Urban Meyer Steps down as Coach of UF
Wow...very surprised. He did alot in his 5 year time with the Gators.
College Gameday heads to Austin, TX Week 3

Sign Ideas???
Tips on what to expect (from someone who went to last years gameday)
-if you want your sign to be shown on TV, be there around 2 or 3 AM
-when lee corso comes out of his trailer, everyone rushes over to shake his hand, use this opportunity to get to the front of the line
-you must be physically and mentally fit to endure the abuse and alcohol stench in the line. Get used to be sandwiched very uncomfortably between two or 3 people for a few hours
-Free food (last year it was Chick Fil A biscuits), free shirts, hardhat and other giveaways by sponsors, and usually a free gift card from home depot. If you stay for the whole game day you'll probably get free food, giftcard, and helmet but not any of the freebies.
Overall, after last year, I told myself I would never go to gameday every again, but I have decided to go. TT is alot closer to UT than Mizzou is (i believe) and we should expect lots of visitors

etc etc etc etc
Your FanPost must be at least 375 words long. Right now it's only 204 words long. If you just have a quote, link, video or photo you'd like to share with the community, try creating a FanShot instead.
Post your final top 10 ranking prediction
Here is MY prediction:
1. Florida
2. Texas
3. Utah
4. USC
5. OU
6. TCU
7. Alabama
8. Oregon
9. Georgia
10. Penn St
Realistically, Ut will probably not be 2nd, esp since Utah won by such a huge margin (and undefeated) and USC beat PSU, which beat Ohio St.
Which leads me to an early look at next years top 5 2009 preseason prediction rankings
1. Florida
2. Texas
3. Alabama
4. OU
5. USC
A quick review of Texas vs St Josephs
Texas played decent today and won and advances to face Notre Dame and Pre Season POY Luke Harongody.
Look for a full review by awiggo? (sorry dont remember it begins with an A i believe)
Things Id Like to note
-D James is such a tough player, he gets points in the paint/perimeter, but he cant pass very well. Turned the ball over WAY too much
-Abrams is on FIRE. We need him to continue what he does to provide momentum and pts for the team
-Pittman is actually exciting to watch
-I know Mason is used as mop up duty, but he didnt do much this game.....
-Defense is stellar, but we commit many turnovers as well. Last year, if i remember correctly, we had one of the fewest turnovers in the country (avg 6 a game)
-Offense needs a huge boost, too many missed shots.
Texas vs Stetson Review
I attended tonights game against Stetson. Here are some key points to be noted
-Starters: James, Abrams, Atchley, Mason, and Chapman. Thats right, Clint Chapman made his first career start? Dgous still serving his suspension
-Varez Ward missed all 6 of his FTA. First game jitters?? Not bad though, hes got potential
-Atchley 3/3 3 pointers. 3 blocked shots
-Abrams fills DJs void with 21 points.
-FTs in general were horrible. Rick Barnes cant be pleased.
-Pittman is the real deal. He can actually run to the other end of the court.
-Im not worried about UCLA, as much as I am about North Carolina/Notre Dame
-Key players: James, Abrams, Atchley must be healthy
-15 TOs. Unacceptable
3 reasons why we lost in the final 2 minutes (UT vs Tech)
Some of these were very obvious but I cant help but to vent
1. POOR coaching. Mack Browns/Davis decision to not use up the full 40 seconds to snap and snap with a good 20 seconds remaining (for each snap) throughout our last TD possesion was a HORRIBLE mistake. He thought our young D would come through. Did they not realize that tech could score in less than 1 minute?????????
2. Blake Gideon.......enough said...very young and inexperienced, couldnt step up when we needed him to
3. Curtis Brown.....missed a crabtree tackle and flew out of bounds, are you kidding me????? This is where missing Chykie hurt us bad.
Our D in general made some plays, but Tech exposed out poor pass defense. Why is Deon Beasely still playng??? and Henry Melton...my god.....he missed so many tackles....
I love this texas team with all my heart, but theres no denying that some improvements can be made. Remember, National championship caliber teams beat the best teams and are consistently the best team, and we were not the best team on the field that last night.
Things I want to Know
1. What is the name of the song in the 4 pontiac game changing performances (online)?
http://promo.espn.go.com/espn/contests/pontiacgcp/
THey play part of the song each clip..........................................
2. Any BONers having a tailgate in Austin this week??
3. Score predictions for the missouri game?
Unfortunate fanposts have to be 75 words long so I have to fill the space up with this very long sentence. Sorry for wasting your time if you are reading this.
Surprise teams of 2008
What teams have been surpising so far in 2008? In terms of dissapointment and joy...
I think Uconn, OK state, Penn St., Georgia Tech, bama, and the most surprising....Vandy. These teams have done fairly well, especially Vandy.
Dissapointing wise.....Clemson Tigers...i bought into the hype
But seriously lets look at Vandy. I know they won todays game only bc of a auburn mistake...but Could they potentially be 10-2 by the end of the year?
@ Miami W
S. Carolina W
Rice W
Ole Miss W
Auburn W
@ MSU W
@ Georgia L
Duke W
@ Florida L
Kentucky W
Tennessee W
@ Wake Forest W
6-2 SEC????? Very possible in my opinion
Cotton Bowl or Sugar bowl??
Texas Basketball to play in 08-09 Maui Invitational
The Teams participating are:
Indiana hoosiers, North Carolina Tar Heels, Alabama Crimson Tide, St Josephs hawks, Oregon ducks, ND Irish, Chaminade spiders
heres the link to the official maui invitational website sponsored by EA games
http://www.mauiinvitational.com/
Perhaps one of the toughest tournaments yet for the longhorns??? North Carolina and Notre Dame are sure to give us trouble. Maybe a glorious victory such as the one against Tennesse is attainable?
Thoughts? Comments? Questions?
