Die-hard Bucs, Noles and Magic fan. I love everything about sports.I'm an avid golfer that has a 25 HCP, but I still love getting out on the course. Living in Atlanta isn't the same as Florida, but I enjoy it here. I'm 25 years old and happily married. Life is good. "I have come that you may have life and life to the fullest" John 10:10

Fantasy Football Week 3: Sit and Start

29

So, not a good week last week. My suggestions have become about as reliable as Lee Corso's game-day picks and a bigger joke than Kenyatta Walker's career. Regardless, I will continue to make them,...

NFL Team Ages and Misconceptions.

Is the age of an NFL team irrelevant? What are average ages of NFL teams for 2010?

Fantasy Football Week 2: Sit and Start

18

Before we hit this week's suggestions, let's take a look at how I did last week. For those of you that are in the BucsNation league, you will probably recognize me as the guy who laid an egg in...

Closing the Book on the Cleveland Game

I finished (late) reviewing the game against Cleveland. I took an immense amount of notes and accidentally deleted them all. I was just going to post them for you to read through, but this may be...

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 17, Cleveland Browns 14

The Bucs were ready to take on the next step of the development process. This meant that getting a win against another bad team and not waiting 9 weeks for our first win was imperative. Losing to...

Fantasy: Sit and Start

For those of you who play fantasy football, one of us will be highlighting some players each week to sit and start. Obviously there are players who you should never bench (Peyton, AP, CJ, Brees,...

Cuts and Claims

Clifton Smith = Cut. Derek Hardman = Cut. George Johnson, Ryan Purvis, Vince Anderson = Practice Squad. RB Kregg Lumpkin, C/G Ted Larsen = Signed.

How Should Olsen Utilize the Backfield?

27

With Derrick Ward being cut, how should Offensive Coordinator Greg Olsen use the new backfield?

UFL Omaha: Garcia and Jagz

7

Head Coach Jeff Jagodzinski and Jeff Garcia will team up with Maurice Clarett for the UFL's Omaha squad. Interesting. Looks like Jags is trying to fix his reputation.

On The Bubble

22

Anwar Richardson and Roy Cummings discuss two players on the bubble of being cut. The first one should come as no surprise for readers of this site, Clifton Smith, but the second one should. Stylez White. I'm not sure that lack of leadership is good reason to cut White. The pass rush is scary as it is but taking White out of the equation it becomes nightmarish. Could you imagine having Moore and Crowder as your opening day starters? Yikes!

Early 53-Man Roster Projections

42

With less than a week to go before the first roster cuts and two weeks left until the final 53 Man roster is released, I decided it could be fun to argue (should be plenty of dissension about who...

It actually wasn't all that bad. On 138 end-arounds last year, 40 percent were successful (not so great), but the DVOA for the teams on those 138 plays was 33.9% -- essentially, it's a boom-or-bust play, but when it booms, it's a good one.

Put Your Prediction Where Your Mouth Is

12

It's here. The Buccaneers will play their first snap (albeit preseason) this Saturday against the Miami Dolphins. Now, it's time. It's time to throw your prediction down on paper. How confident...

There are some huge changes coming to Buc 'Em late Wed night or Thursday AM. Keep your eyes peeled. (All good changes) Update: The changes don't have anything to do with anyone leaving yet but will be alterations that should help the site grow in the long run. Update: Wednesday Night and Thursday AM have come and gone. The staff is also eagerly awaiting the changes and at this point, it's out of our control. Hang in there. Care to take a guess?

NFL wants players to wear leg padding

4

I would say an incredibly high number of NFL players do not wear thigh, hip, knee or butt pads. None are currently required by the NFL, but this could change in 2011. 12 teams are experimenting with this during training camp and preseason to give valuable feedback to the NFL. The pads will be thin and light, but provide far more protection than there is now. I wouldn't be surprised if the Bucs were one of those teams, but we'll find out in 6 days.

Ike Hillard coaching in the UFL

Former "NY Giants WR" (or far more notably Buccaneers WR) is now coaching the Florida Tuskers.

Tangible Expectations Part 2

Again, it seems to be the consensus that the Bucs will improve next season. The question is how much. I have tried to put numbers on my expectations for the team. I would also note there is nothing...

Tangible Expectations Part 1

Perhaps the only certainty next season is that we will improve. Easier Schedule, solid additions (WR, DT) and experience at key positions (QB, LB) all give us a varying degree of hope. Any guess on...

Bucs Sign Veteran Guard Keydrick Vincent

12

2 Notes - This provides valuable depth at Guard and pushes Jeremy Zuttah. - This could be an emergency option if Donald Penn holds-out. Zuttah is probably the only guy on the roster that could slide to play Left Tackle. If this were to happen the Bucs would be left to rely on a 2nd year player (Fulton) who missed all of last season.

24

Of the 291 throws Freeman made last year, 25 of them were thrown to a receiver waiting behind the line of scrimmage and 148 of them were thrown to a receiver running less than 10 yards downfield. Of those 173 throws Freeman completed 112 of them, including four for touchdowns, while being intercepted just once. That works out to a completion percentage of 64.7 and a passer rating of 88 on what was more than likely a lot of traditional West Coast type of plays. And that’s a far better result than what Freeman got when he was asked to throw intermediate or deep routes.

Roy Cummings, TBO.COM "West Coast Offense May be Playing to Freeman's True Strength" You know I love good stats. Cumming's did some great research here.

Bucs Biggest Weakness

2

Matt WIlliamson of Scout Inc. breaks down what he thinks is the Bucs biggest weakness: the run defense. While I don't disagree that it's a weakness, I still think our biggest weakness lies at QB and in the passing game. It's not a 'knock' on Freeman, but it's where he is at in his development. Couple that with potentially starting 2 rookie WR and an under-performing offensive line from last year and you have a big problem. This could be mitigated if Greg Olsen ever ran the football.
