Kenny Iwebema has tumor removed

According to ESPN Kenny Iwebema had a baseball sized benign tumor removed from his chest on Monday.

The Tumor showed up in routine x-rays and now he won't be able to participate in offseason activities for the next six weeks or so. Doctors said if it would've been much bigger they would've had to crack his chest and no football for the season.

Take a deep breath

Ok, everybody needs to take a deep breath and just calm the hell down for a minute. Did the draft go the way we expected? No. Is there a damned thing we can do about it? Again no. Is bitching and whining going to make us win 10 games next season? Once again...No.

Take a step back, realize we got some great talent and players with a lot of potential throughout the draft. No matter what we did, barring the intervention of the football gods, we were going to be picking early again in the 2010 draft. There were just too many holes to patch at once.

I was fairly upset during the draft and confused as hell by a lot of the picks, but now that I've had some time to look back on it, I realized that the front office was going for talent not need. It's the only way we can go. Also they were looking in the long term and I think they realized that next year will have a lot more talent defensively in the draft, so why tie up a position this year for a player that might not be who you want, when there's going to be more options next year.

All I see now is a fanbase that's deeply divided when we need to be coming together and putting on our blue and silver work helmets to get through the rebuilding process of the next two to three years.

Rams release Orlando Pace

The Rams just announced they're releasing 7 time Pro Bowler Orlando Pace. Should the Lions look into seeing what it would take to sign him? He's a proven veteran at tackle, one of the Lions most pressing needs, would instantly upgrade the offensive line, and could be an invaluable mentor to any younger linemen we pick up in the draft. It also makes it much easier for the Lions to choose Aaron Curry with the number one pick.

Sweet Jebus Almighty! You'd think the coach's kid wouldn't have an issue with something like this.

About halfway down (16) I think Pat Forde says Ferentz's job is secure, but then babbles about arrests and quotes Sean Keeler.

So about 1/3 of the way into Fowler's column on espn.com today, he puts 3-1 Iowa on upset watch against 4-0 Northwestern. How the fuck does a 4-0 team upset a 3-1 team?

[Nice catch. Also, easy answer: When it's the worst 4-0 team in the nation. They're just Northwestern.--OPS]
