I'm a graduate of Wake Forest University with an English degree, minor in Journalism. I wrote for the school's paper the Old Gold and Black the whole time I was at school, covering every sport from Cross Country to Golf, but senior year I had the privilege of following the football and basketball teams.

My favorite Demon Deacon ever is Muggsy Bogues, but Alphonso Smith and Aaron Curry come dang close.

Here we are again folks. The game is at 7 PM on ESPNU, so no excuse not to sit down, order a pizza and join in on the chat goodness while you watch the Deacs as they take on the Seahawks.

"I had to step up, because I am the next-best shooter on the team," DeMaurice Terrell said, who had three 3-pointers and a three-point play. "I had to do it for (J.T.) because we had to get this win."

Q&A: StatSheet's Robbie Allen

Image071_medium

This Q&A is a special one for BSD. We obviously have been using StatSheet more and more since we started delving into it during Wake's season last year, but the more we use it, the more information we have been learning about this basketball team. I had the pleasure of asking Robbie some questions about his site and statistics in general. Thanks again to Robbie and if you haven't started going to StatSheet, I suggest you get on it.

You can find his answers after the jump...

Deacon Dump 12/16: Facing the mid-majors

A couple interesting stories on Ty Walker and Wake's willingness to travel to play mid-major opponents. This is a key game for the Deacs even though it doesn't seem like it. They need to play focused basketball and make the final tweaks they need before their stretch against State, Richmond and Xavier. Keep an eye out today as we are proud to bring you a Q&A with Robbie Allen of StatSheet.

Game Preview: Wake Forest vs. UNC-Wilmington

I'll begin with this: say what you will about Dino Gaudio, but he goes out and plays people. Sure a lot of that is a lot of home and homes and the ACC/Big Ten Challlenge, but going to Zaga, Purdue, BYU, etc... is good for a team that has not had a lot of road success the last few years. Hopefully this year it pays off.

That brings me to everyone's favorite beach bums, UNC-Wilmington. Trask is a very difficult place to play, and there is no question that their fans will be up for this game. They go nuts when George Mason comes to play and I imagine that will only be amped up even more tomorrow.

So what can we expect out of the Seahawks...?

Deacon Dump 12/15: Chas a target for opposing fans, Wake not shooting threes

It is good to see Wake receiving votes in the polls again. It's a nice fuzzy feeling even though it doesn't really mean anything. Now it's time to have a good week. And what a big week it is--with UNC-W on the road and a big conference game against State on Sunday.
