The Only Colors Superstitions?

Just wondered if any of my fellow Spartan fans have a superstition they think is allowing our team to keep winning. For example, wearing the same shirt every Saturday, eating the same lunch, etc.

For me, I hadn't shaved for a few weeks before Labor Day, so when the weekend came, I shaved my beard into a fu manchu. Once it got to the Wisconsin game, it was looking pretty ragged, but we won. As a result, I couldn't shave it. I still haven't, and  I won't until we lose. I know it is illogical, but I don't care. Anyone else?

Notre Dame AD Jack Swarbrick says that although Notre Dame still would like to maintain their independence, they may be forced to accept Big 10 expansion due to finances and other conferences expanding.

In town to attend the Big East basketball tournament, Swarbrick and new football coach Brian Kelly met with a small group of reporters Tuesday morning. Calling the current college landscape "as unstable as I've seen it" in 29 years as a sports executive, Swarbrick said, "You could each invent a scenario that would force our hand."

"You have two conferences [the Big Ten and SEC] that have separated themselves economically and you've got all the other conferences lined up for their [upcoming television] renegotiations," said Swarbrick. "The bar has been set so high, and the [current] media market is so tepid, that it creates a lot of tension."

Swarbrick reiterated Tuesday that, "while we're paying attention [to realignment], we're trying like heck to maintain our football independence. It's good for college football and it's great for Notre Dame. That's our goal."

The Only Colors Chris allen suspended for Friday's game

I was just listening to Ermanni Midday on 1130 am, and he just broke the story that Allen has been suspended for Friday's game. He did not say why, or what happened, but just that he was suspended. I have looked everywhere on the internet, and have not found anything. Once I do, I will put up a fanpost.

Obviously, this puts a huge damper on the chances of going far in the tournament, depending on what happened, and how long the suspension is.

Sources close to the Purdue men’s basketball team are saying junior forward Robbie Hummel tore his anterior cruciate ligament Wednesday night against Minnesota and will be out for an unclear amount of time.

The severity of the tear was not immediately known, though any ACL tear likely means the end to this season.

A press release from the Purdue Athletic department confirming the injury is expected today.

Certainly bad news for Purdue fans and Big Ten fans, as Purdue looked like the team most likely to make a deep run, but this news certainly puts that in doubt.

A great article from Athlon Sports about how Michigan State football is gaining on U-M. Here is a great quote by Chris Norman that is in the article:

"When Michigan State beat Michigan (last year), I don’t want to take anything away from Michigan State, but Michigan is going through a rebuilding process, with a new staff," he says. "It’s not a ‘gimme’ game, but you can’t just beat up the fat, slow kid in gym class. When Michigan State beats Michigan when both programs are (on) the same (level), then you can say Michigan State did something."
