Steelers Mock Draft

The Steelers will most likely be somewhere around the 16th pick.

Rolando McClain- Linebacker (Ala)- The Steelers need a replacement for the aging James Farrior. Another option if they are available are- FS Taylor Mays, or CB Joe Hayden
Dan Williams DT- (Tenn)- Due to Casey Hampton's age, an immediate need for DT to groom will be addressed through the draft. Another Option here is S Morgan Burnett, DT Terrance Cody, or CD Ras-I Howling
Anthony Dixon- This guy would be a steal, he is a tough, gritty, Steelers style player that a new OC needs. Other thoughts could be LB Micah Johnson, CB Javier Arenas, or Mike Johnson OL
Maurice Pouncey OL Florida- A big tough, physical lineman to groom on a slow to connect Oline. Other Options could be OL Sam Young, OL Mike Pouncey, or WR Dexter McCluster
Dexter McCluster WR Ole Miss- Due to his lack of size, he'll probably fall somewhere in the mid to late rounds. He has athleticism that is much needed and could strongly boost the return game. Other picks could be RB Ben Tate, RB Charles Scott, or WR Terrance Tolliver
Leigh Tiffin K Alabama- This guy is Bama's all time leading scorer. He has a strong and accurate leg and could boost special teams. Other Options CB Walter McFadden, DE Antonio Coleman, or RB Damion Fletcher
Clint Gresham LS TCU- Due to injuries to Greg Warren back to back, the Steelers will most likely be shopping for a good prospect. Other Viable options could be FB Richard Dickson, FB Clay Harbor or QB Todd Reesing

OFFENSE

QB- Peyton Manning (no surprise)--- BACKUP (out of all backups)- Kevin Kolb

RB (2)- Adrian Peterson, Marion Barber or Chris Johnson

FB(1)- Peyton Hillis

WR (4)- Larry Fitzgerald, Vincent Jackson, Hines Ward, Andre Johnson

TE (2)- Dallas Clark and Tony Gonzalez

Offensive Line- Steve Hutchinson, Alan Faneca, Nick Mangold, Jake Long, Joe Thomas

DEFENSE

Linebackers (2 OLB and 2 MLB)- James Harrison and Demarcus Ware--Patrick Willis and Ray Lewis

Cornerbacks (3)- Darrell Revis, Nmandi Asomounga, Charles Woodson

Defense Line (2 DE and 1 DT)- Jared Allen, Justin Tuck, Casey Hampton

2010 DREAM DRAFT-what's yours?

1st Round--S- Trade up to get Eric Berry Tenn (lose a 4th rounder).. We need a feasible backup to Troy and one that could possibly play opposite of him.
2nd Round-- NT- Dan Williams Tenn if he is available (someone to play behind Hampton and Hoke to groom because Hampton will resign)
3rd Round-- RB or OL- Anthony Dixon MSU, Ben Tate AUB, or Brandon Minor MICH---OR John Jerry Ole Miss, Mike Johnson BAMA, or Sam Young ND. (We need a complement to up and coming Mendenhall do to Parker's aparent departure) (We need depth and talent on our oline obviously)

4th Round comp (possible compensation for BMac or Nate Washington leaving via FA)-- LB- Micah Johnson KY or Antonio Coleman AUB (We need someone to groom other than Pat Bailey at linebacker and the Bruce Davis project has failed)

5th Round--WR or RB- Dexter McCluster Ole Miss (this guy is just an athlete- we lack an all around athlete like Percy Harvin, Darren Sproles, and Joshua Cribbs and one who is an actual threat to return kicks)

6th Round-- FB- Richard Dickson LSU- (even though we have H-backs.. we don't have a true FB. Send Summers to practice squad and David J. as the blocking TE that they like to use)

7th Round-- K- Leigh Tiffin BAMA (This dude is sick. Accurate and poised. We need someone behind Skippy who has pretty much served his tenure)

7th Round comp-- DB- Walter McFadden AUB (This guy would be an absolute steal in the later rounds- he is projected to go undrafted but has held guys likes Julio Jones, Brandon LaFell, Riley Cooper, etc.)

This could lighten the mood from our grim losses. Let's see everyone's dream draft for 2010

Steelers work out Patrick Ramsey and Todd Bouman

Due to injuires in the QB front Pitt has brought in Pat Ramsey and Bouman to workout for a possible job per Profootballtalk.com. I would have more faith in Ramsey behind center than Batch, Dixon, or Bouman. He could still be a potential starter on a lesser team like Tampa Bay or even St. Louis. This could mean that Batch will be gone at season's end and/or Ben's injury might be a little more serious. I would love for Ramsey to be the backup in Pitt.

On another note... I would also like to see us draft a solid num. 2 running back in the draft in the 2nd or 3rd round. I hope CJ Spiller is available in the 2nd round, but I doubt it. We need a Safety, OLineman, or a feesable Linebacker or DT in the draft.

Roethlisberger sued in a civil lawsuit

This is taken from PROFOOTBALLTALK.COM now, we know how Florio likes to stretch things with but here is the abstract. Ben denies that he sexually assaulted anyone.

According to the web site for the Second Judicial District of Washoe County, Nevada, Andrea McNulty filed suit against Roethlisberger and several others on Friday. Though the details currently are scant, the lawsuit generally has been categorized as a claim for defamation.

That said, other types of claims possibly are contained in the suit papers against one or more of the defendants.

Per Rosenthal's source, one or more of the other named defendants (John Koster, Guy Hyder, Mark Masters, Dave Monroe, Mike Rosenow, Debbie Neall, Bryan Casuscelli, and Stacy Dingman) currently work and/or used to work with McNulty at Harrah's, where McNulty is still employed.

Still, Roethlisberger's connection to the case is unclear. It's possible that she claims that he did or said something to her for which civil liability could be imposed in his capacity as a customer at Harrah's.

Given that a summons was issued on Friday, Roethlisberger might have been served suit papers while in Lake Tahoe for the 20th Annual American Century Celebrity Golf Championship.

As we hear it, Roethlisberger regularly visits the area.

America's Most Hated Teams/ Steelers In Top 5

In a poll taken by ESPN, Dallas overtook New England (surprisingly) to win the title of America's most hated team.

Only five teams were listed as possible answers, led by the Cowboys (36%), Patriots (34%), Steelers (12%), Giants (9%), and Raiders (9%).

I am shocked to say that the Steelers made America's top 5 most hated teams.. I'm very disappointed!

12 percent of voters hate the Steelers..must be the jealous reporters again. We are getting snubbed right and left. Ben isn't ranked in the top five, we are America's top five hated teams, the Madden rankings didn't do our team justice either (Santonio only 86, Ike around 88 with only 86 speed,...not that madden rankings matter), among other weak rankings.

Any thoughts??

LIst of Steelers' Top Ten Most Valuable Players

This time of offseason is very boring around the NFL. It seems like I'm watching America's Most Wanted, rather than a sporting event. I usually check ProFootballTalk regularly, but all I hear is Chad Johnson Twittering on the sidelines of the games, who has court, who went to jail, or what fines are given out. Here is a little something to talk about for a while hopefully. Maybe it'll get the sour taste out of our mouths about all this pointless talk.

10.) Lamar Woodley- Woodley has came out into his own over the last season. He should have more sacks and plays next season due to double teams of Harrison. He is quickly becoming a star on defense.

9.) Ike Taylor- He covers the best WR in the league. He doesn't have the best hands, but he is an elite corner, and definitely underrated at his position. He is one of our quickest guys and he knows our playbook well.

8.) Heath Miller- The complete TE. Expect him to have a monster year due to the awaiting contract. He is a true Steeler.

7.) Aaron Smith- Again, the most underrated defensive lineman in the league. Sure he doesn't get all the sacks, but our defensive scheme allows him to make way for our awesome LB corps; he does just what we need him to do. A huge asset to our defense and DL.

6.) Willie Parker- I'm sure I'll get negative feedback on this one, but hear me out. Willie made the longest SB run in history, he has 3 1000+ yard seasons (1300 before he got the leg broker, imagine what he could have had), and he is an incredible leader. He has tremedous heart, drive, and talent. He is not about himself, as many players are. He has worked hard this offseason already to secure his spot; with a better synchronized OL, expect to see the old FWP.

5.) Santonio Holmes- You hear alot that this season is Santonio's breakout year, and it very well may be. He had huge, huge plays in the SB, resulting in his SB MVP trophy. He is a solid reciever, and gives a great complement and eventual replacement for Hines.

4.) Hines Ward- How could anyone hate Hines Ward; beside the sissy linebackers and players that get that ass knocked out by a reciever half their size. Hines is a leader on and off the field, a loyal player to the franchise, and a playmaker despite his age. What a great player, HOF bound.

3.) James Harrison- Harrison has had a hell of a road to become one of the best linebackers in the league. He made huge plays in the SB, especially the longest INT return/play in SB history. He is a force of defense. He doesn't make num. 1 or 2, strictly because he hasn't had the success through the seasons like other Steelers have had.

2.) Ben Roethlisberger- Ok, Deebo didn't make num. 2. This is because Roethlisberger is a motivator, playmaker, and leader on this team. He is an offensive force, even though he has made mistakes on the field. The comebacks and 2 SB rings are enough to show that he is an elite QB.

1.) Troy Polamalu- He is overall the best safety in the league. He has become one of the anchors of the best defense in years and is an intense competitor. The guy does wonders on and off the field. Picture our defense without this talent!

Honorable Mentions- Ryan Clark, Big Snack, DeShea Townsend, Keisel, Kemo, Mewelde, William Gay

Ok, so it's offseason. It's boring, but these posts make it somewhat interesting to me. I'll give ya'll my predictions, or more how I wish it would happen. Keep in mind that I don't think the roster will go this way, but I hope it does. Give me some feedback. Go easy, this is my first time. I've been reading this site for some time now, but never posted. So here goes (I'm going to put them in a depth chart too).
