Cold, rainy, nasty day....but perfect for getting some autographs. The caravan stopped in Franklin, Tennessee today at the Embassy Suites. There was a pretty good turnout for it to be such an ugly day and 2:00 in the afternoon. I estimated between 100-125 people at the peak, which doesn't  seem like a lot but it really is for an area that's so football-centered. I got to watch a Q & A with Frank Wren and young Braves players while drinking beer in a hotel bar....fantastic afternoon.

Neftali Feliz made his debut for the Rangers today against the lowly A's. Yahoo was all over this, even placing a link on their front page titled "Rookie Pitcher's Incredible Velocity". Here's the article in case you missed it:

Good to see one of our former prospects doing well in his first appearance. Sadly, anytime this is discussed we'll have to hear about how big of a mistake it was to trade this kid. Oh well...best of luck to him.

Yeah so Chipper has another oblique problem at the WBC. They reported on the broadcast that it is a mild strain so we'll see how it progresses. Sucks though. I didn't see when it happened but they attributed it to his poor hitting so far in the Classic. Hopefully he won't be out long.

P.S. For those who didn't already know, Rick Sutcliff is a total ass. Listen to him call a game for about 5 minutes and it's pretty easy to understand. A perfect idiot.

I realize that most rumors placed on MLBTR are to be taken with a grain of salt and never come to fruition. However, if the rumor is true that the Angels dangled the offer of Kotchman and Joe Saunders in front of the Braves, can someone please explain to me how we turn that down? Saunders has been unbelievable this year and is only 27 and Kotchman has a lot of promise. Someone please help me understand.
