Neftali Feliz made his debut for the Rangers today against the lowly A's. Yahoo was all over this, even placing a link on their front page titled "Rookie Pitcher's Incredible Velocity". Here's the article in case you missed it:

101 Reasons to enjoy Neftali Feliz

Good to see one of our former prospects doing well in his first appearance. Sadly, anytime this is discussed we'll have to hear about how big of a mistake it was to trade this kid. Oh well...best of luck to him.

Chipper strains oblique at WBC

Yeah so Chipper has another oblique problem at the WBC. They reported on the broadcast that it is a mild strain so we'll see how it progresses. Sucks though. I didn't see when it happened but they attributed it to his poor hitting so far in the Classic. Hopefully he won't be out long.

P.S. For those who didn't already know, Rick Sutcliff is a total ass. Listen to him call a game for about 5 minutes and it's pretty easy to understand. A perfect idiot.

Another Tex Trade Rumor

I realize that most rumors placed on MLBTR are to be taken with a grain of salt and never come to fruition. However, if the rumor is true that the Angels dangled the offer of Kotchman and Joe Saunders in front of the Braves, can someone please explain to me how we turn that down? Saunders has been unbelievable this year and is only 27 and Kotchman has a lot of promise. Someone please help me understand.

Chipper on Jim Rome

It may have already been discussed but I was wondering if anyone caught Chipper's interview on Rome is Burning yesterday. Rome wasn't on the show but Chipper gave a really great interview and reminded me why he's my favorite player. He still speaks honestly, whether it's what people want to hear or not. He told of how he has tried to persuade Tex into signing an extension because of the tremendous help he is in getting Chipper pitches to hit. He did also say that if the team continues to fall out of contention he expects Tex to be dealt at the deadline. Not many players are that realistic when it comes those sort of things, instead choosing to be optimistic and just saying what the fans want to hear. He also told, which I wasn't that aware of, how big of a fan of Mickey Mantle he always has been and how much it means to him to be playing in the ASG at Yankee Stadium. It's a nice reminder of how down to earth Chipper is. I'm just glad to know that when he's done he'll be mentioned as one of the greatest switch hitters of all-time, right along Mantle himself.
