Pinstripe Alley NO BILLY MARTIN anywhere on River Ave or at the Stadium

I have been looking high and low for any sort of Billy Martin jerseys or t shirt.. I have been to the stadium this yr and have been through every team store and every store on River Ave.. Not a single Billy Martin 1 Yankees T shirt .. Yankees jersey .. The only thing I found was a 1 Yankees replica jersey inside the stadium that said 1 Dad.. When I asked a number of Yankees employees if they knew where I could get one they looked at me perplexed.. As a child of the 70's I loved Billy ..Reggie and Thurman.. You can find Reggie and Thurman but Billy is nowhere to be found... Btw his number is retired and is in Monument park and on the wall.. WHen you google Billy Martin ..same crap.. cant find nothing ... Amazing ... lol

Pinstripe Alley This is YOUR commish !

Jan. 2 — Massachusetts Attorney General Tom Reilly blasts Major League Baseball's role in the Boston Red Sox sale, claiming the fabled franchise was being steered to a group of out-of-state baseball insiders despite higher offers.

Jan. 10

John Henry

Cablevision Chairman Charles Dolan ups his Red Sox bid by $40 million, to $740 million. Three days later, the club's limited partners vote unanimously to stand by their decision to sell the team to a group led by John Henry for $660 million plus $40 million in assumed debt.

“What Alex did was wrong and he will have to live with the damage he has done to his name and reputation. His actions are also a reminder to everyone in baseball – under our current drug program, if you are caught using steroids and/or amphetamines, you will be punished. Since 2005, every player who has tested positive for steroids has been suspended for as much as 50 games. Eradicating performance- enhancing substances from the game of baseball has been my first priority over the past decade and it is important to remember that these recent revelations relate to pre-program activity.”  Bud Selig

Mvp_giambi June 6 (Bloomberg) -- Major League Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig said he wants Jason Giambi to cooperate with George Mitchell's steroid investigation before he disciplines the New York Yankees player for his comments about the drugs.

Giambi should meet with Mitchell within the next two weeks, Selig said in a statement. Major League Baseball lawyers met with Giambi and his representatives two weeks ago after USA Today published a report on May 18 that quoted Giambi saying he was ``wrong for doing that stuff,'' which could be viewed as a confession that he took steroids.

``Any admission regarding the use of illegal performance- enhancing substances, no matter how casual, must be taken seriously,'' Selig said. ``Discipline for wrongdoing is important, but it is also important to create an environment so players can feel free to honestly and completely cooperate with this important investigation.''

Former Senator George Mitchell is a straightforward and honest man, a life-time public servant, and about as perfect a candidate to head a high-profile investigation into steroid use as Major League Baseball could have found. So why in the world did he allow his integrity to be vulnerable to attack by remaining on the Board pf Directors of the Boston Red Sox as he took over this sensitive assignment? It was an obvious conflict of interest, not only because his connection to the management and ownership of a team meant that he could not be termed a neutral party, but because that team was the Boston Red Sox. Mitchell, a Vermonter, is a life-time Red Sox fan, and while that doesn't mean that he would corrupt his investigation to stick it to the New York Yankees, he had to know that many writers and fans would accuse him of doing so if the Pinstripers took a particularly hard hit from his report. And this was always likely: already two New York stars, Jason Giambi and Gary Sheffield, had been sullied by the Balco. Investigation. Moreover, the Yankee franchise "winning is the only thing that matters" culture under owner George Steinbrenner was exactly the kind of pressure-cooker that could push a player to cheat.

Sure enough, a disproportional number of Yankee stars were implicated in Mitchell's report, while no equivalent status Red Sox stars were revealed as steroid or human growth hormone users during their tenure with the team. And sure enough, the sports pages in the Big Apple are full of fans and writers crying "Foul!" They say a Red Sox official used his position to besmirch the hated Yankees, while protecting his own team's steroid-using players. As proof, they offer the fact that while steroid use by prominent Yankees is heavily discussed, the only Red Sox stars implicated are those who began injecting after they abandoned the team for bigger contracts: Mo Vaughn and Roger Clemens.

This is your commish baseball fans .. Someone is going to write a best seller one day .. GAME OF SHADOWS aka the Used Car Salesman from Milwaukee who used conflict of interests to pressure baseball into the 94 strike and the Steroid Era ..

Pinstripe Alley He was chairman of The Walt Disney Company from March 2004 until January 2007

He sat on the Board of Directors of the Boston Red Sox.. He headed an investigation into Steroid Use that yielded just high profile Yankees ... Guess who runs ESPN ?? Walt Disney .. Hank and Hal were right a few yrs ago about ESPN being biased. I cant believe more has not been made of the conflict of interest by the media and the public and the Yankees brain trust.. This is from Jack Cust .". With all the other stuff going on, with a lot of the guys coming out recently - big-name guys - to me it’s kind of funny they spent all that money on the Mitchell Report and a bunch of hearsay and the guy who made all the money off it happened to work for the Red Sox," Cust told the AP.

"Were there any Red Sox on the report? To me, that’s kind of a joke. How does that happen? It’s coming out now with guys on that team. The guy worked for the Red Sox - they spent all kinds of millions of dollars - and then no one there had their name brought up,"

The conflict of interests in baseball are unbelievable ..from Selig and his ties to the small market Brewers that led us to losing the 94 World Series due to Bud's Penny Pinching insistence on a Salary Cap to this crap..The worst part is MLB has anti trust exemption ..and the Government does nothing to insist on impartiality ...

Pinstripe Alley EVERY YANKS FAN DREAM

Could Schilling be on the list of 104 in 03' and could he have been a PED abuser like Manny..Ortiz and Arroyo?? The case and facts.. Schilling was a marginal pitcher at best early in his career ..pitched for the 93 Phillies .. had two big seasons in 92 and 93 and strikes out 147 and 187 respectively... He runs into Clemens somewhere in this time period and finds relegion and decides to take better care of himself.. He goes a combined 16-23 over the next 3 yrs ..granted for some so /so Phillies teams ..IN 97 .. he turns into NOLAN RYAN and K's over 300 and does it again in 98 ..right around Clemens turns the twilight of his career into the Cy Young seasons in Toronto ..Good ol Curt has some injury problems over the next two yrs while posting respective numbers and then at the age of 34 and 35 when most pitchers are wearing down and losing juice on their fastballs unlike their non PED using predecessors .. Holier than though ..He of the Bloody Sock goes on in 01 and 02 to go a combined 45 and 13 and avgs 300k's again over those 2yrs .. He then goes to the Sox in 04 after another injury plagued seson in 03 and moves into the AL EAST ..notoriously one of the best divisions in baseball and the markedly stronger AL and goes on to post a 21 and 6 record and strikes out 200 at the age of 37 ...keep in mind MOOSE was throwing slightly faster than my 1yr old son at this age and pt in his career and Cone's arm nearly fell off .. We are now looking at Pedro at this age throwing in the mid 80's ...However good old Curt blows away the competiton ..throws the Bloody Sock game after ripping up his ankle and banishes the curse... Circumstantial evidence ..maybe lol.. However the evidence is there ..just like it was with Ortiz...The reason I point it out is again he has been outspoken against PED use and has generally stood on his soap box like most of our rivals fans up north.. THe Yanks have been demonized for yrs and while I think it damages the game every time a big name...It would be so sweet to find out once and for all that like our team the biggest and most important stars of the and even more so in their case were cheaters... Remember the guys who cheated for us never really contributed the way guys like Cone..Oneil ..Bernie ..Jeter ..Tino (who could be under suspicion for 97' ) and Brosisus did .. If Manny..Ortiz and Blowhard Curt were all cheaters we can officially put to rest the Gritty ...Underdog...Blue Collar ...ESPN favorite Red Sox facades of 04-07..

Pinstripe Alley Cant Wait till Mitchell and Selig go down for this nonsense ..

What a joke that Senator Mitchell  Maine who sits on the Board of the Director of the Boston RedSox conducts an investigation where the only the people who will talk to him are 2 trainers from the NY clubs ... ironically implicating a number of high profile Yankees and giving the public a skewed idea of how deep the PED problem was .. Instead the report led you to believe that the only high profile names were Yankees again ironically the Red Sox chief rivals... the names on the 03 list are then sealed and conviently the only names that are leaked up until recently are again only Yankees..

Little Mami and Manny come out as being on the list well after the fact and again nothing is made of the issue .. Why is a small market owner still the commissioner of baseball and why are important matters directed to individuals who have a conflict of interest .. For a sport with an Anti Trust Exemption the whole thing reaks and as a baseball fan and a father of 2 small children in the worst economic enviornment since the Great Depression it sickens me that my tax dollars went to fund this nonsense... As a Yankees fan and a taxpayer I hope one day it comes out how much corruption and manipulation went into this whole thing and as a fan of our Constitution ...HOW DO SEALED GOVERNMENT Documents continue to get leaked to the public..

Pinstripe Alley Unfortunate Accident Fells JESUS

Montero was hurt today .. and seems to be lost for the rest of the season due to a middle finger injury.. ETA according to some reports could be as soon as next yr.. Hopefully he can ease the sting of picking Brien Taylor over Manny Ramirez and give us a bonifde monster raker in our lineup and homegrown!!.. I hope that holding on to some of our youngsters plays out well.. It should be nice to see Matsui and possibly Damon eased out next yr and replaced by guys like Jackson and Montero.. Plus I cant wait to start sporting some JESUS T shirts.. If the guy has any sort of personality he will be HUGEEE in NY..

Big Blue View Jerry Please get BROOKS!

Stack up our LB core with a sure fire HOF..He will help AP shape up the D into a killer unit with a veteran mentality..While he is at it ...if Marvin Harrison or Tory Holt are still available ...we could add another veteran presence to the offense... Missing Sam Madison and Michael Strahan from last years Defense hurt us when the whole Plaxico thing went down and with all the rookies on both sides of the ball ..it can never hurt to sprinkle in a couple of veterans to keep everyone honest
