#Mizzou announces that Blaine Gabbert is entering the 2011 NFL draft
So much for that decision. Goodbye preseason top 20 ranking.
Jasper Simmons No Longer With Mizzou Football Team
KOMU's Eric Blumberg (and MUTIGERS86) confirms.
@MUTIGERSDOTCOM Asked a Gameday producer how our Friday crowd was on a scale of 1-10: "About an 11 or 12."
Ummmm ya....
For those who aren't on campus. Stage is up and ready to go. Credit goes to Mackelroy over at Powermizzou.

OU's Dejuan Miller Out for MU Game (And rest of season)
Torn Meniscus. Starting Wide Reciever who was #4 on the team in receptions, #3 in yardage.
"The (recruiter) for our school for A&M, he's turned a lot of people off," one coach said. "The guys from Texas and OU, they come in and are very easy to talk to and are very comfortable. The coach from A&M, he thinks a lot more highly of A&M than most people do. He doesn't realize their place in the pecking order at the moment. He seems to think they're just entitled to get whoever they want because they're Texas A&M. That's just not the case anymore. It was that way 20 years ago, but it's not now. He still thinks it's that way and it rubs a lot of coaches and kids the wrong way. He can't understand when one of our kids doesn't want to go there."
-A high school coach in Texas on why A&M recruiting is struggling. Sounds like the fans aren't the only delusional ones.
So this should put an end to the Chase Daniel Booger Thing.

Tigers Land Another Big Boy
Missouri landed another big committment this morning, when Louisiana DT Gerrand Johnson committed to the Tigers. He is rated the #55 defensive tackle in the nation by Rivals, and had offers from Arkansas, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Alabama among others. Big time get for the Tigers.
Baylor just sent out release saying star guard LaceDarius Dunn indefinitely suspended following arrest in Waco. No details on arrest.
Well...that would certainly make things easier.
UPDATE:Waco Police have told CBSSports.com that Dunn has been charged with aggravated assault for an incident with a girlfriend. It's a felony. Dunn has been booked into jail. He's in the process of posting bail, according to Sgt. Melvin Roseborough of the Waco PD.
Rumor on the message boards is he broke her jaw. no word on if his defense is "If I hit her, she would still be asleep"

More Mizzou Alcohol Problems WAHOO!
Jimmy Burge was pulled over, did get a ticket for having alcohol in his vehicle but no DWI...it is quite possible there will be a suspension but we will find that out later today.
-Gabe over at Power Mizzou
Now, i can't find Jimmy's birthday anywhere, but as a redshirt sophmore its possible he is 21. If he's not 21, he was likely ticketed for an MIP. If he is 21, the alcohol must have been open, because there is nothing illegal about having closed alcohol in the car if your 21, so it must have been an open container ticket. Either way, what the hell guys.
UPDATE:
#Mizzou DT Jimmy Burge was cited Saturday night for drinking an open beer while driving. BAC was below legal limit. More to come at CDT

Big 12 Football Schedules Released
Looks like the rotation will be:
Road
OU
K St
A&M
Baylor
KU(When not at neutral site)
Home
ISU
OSU
Texas
Tech
Personally, I think our schedules are split pretty evenly. The Mizzou/OU game for 2011 is to be determined because OU has a non con game that weekend. Personally, I would like to see them move it next year to conference championship weekend. Every other year in the future, Mizzou will open up the conference season with Oklahoma.
Sounds tough, but then is followed with KSU/ISU/OSU in a very winnable stretch of games. If KU gets back to being a decent team again, could be a tough final stretch of Texas, Tech, and KU.
Also Notable-Mizzou/OU will always be the week before the red river rivalry. Hopefully that leads to OU overlooking us for once.
New Big 12 Football Schedules Q&A
Interesting things about how they put the nine game schedule together which will be announced tomorrow. Most interesitng thing, is that they said all teams who play a neutral site game (IE Missouri) will have 4 home and 4 road every season (in addition to the one neutral) so there will never be a season with just 3 home games. Also sounds like they tried to avoid any team playing "traditional powers" on the road the same year, (IE OU/Texas)
Mangino Back In The Game!!!
KSTP Channel 5, an ABC affiliate in Minneapolis, is reporting that Mangino had been hired as a consultant to University of Minnesota football coach Tim Brewster.
Yost elaborated, saying those speed options are MU's only same-side running plays out of the shotgun, meaning the rest of MU's run plays to the tailback generally go to the side opposite where the back is stationed before the snap. From what I could make of his explanation, if MU were to ditch the speed options, every one of its running plays would go to the opposite side ... and that would take away some element of surprise, I presume.
Ok..I am totally on the "people who want to fire Yost" are just being stupid bandwagon. But to only have ONE running play to the right side of the field. That can't be right can it?
I think the environment that we're going to play in Cedar Falls is going to be much more of a hostile environment than Memorial Stadium in Kansas. That was pretty docile, And the type of team that we're going to be playing is going to be a much more physical, aggressive football team than KU. And quite frankly I think we're going to be playing a better opponent.

Congrats To SPOOOOOOOOOON on winning the starting job with the Falcons
Willy Mo is the second string SS as well.
Mizzou's Phil Pressey had a standing (no step) vertical leap of 37.5". The best leap at the NBA combine this year was 32.0" by Wes Johnson
Ummm.. Discuss
Pinkel: No depth change at MLB, meaning it doesn't sound like Will Ebner will be back for McNeese State game
Pinkel: Shoulder bruise for TB Kendial Lawrence, should be fine. Brad Madison will long snap again, not Beau BrinkleyBoth Via D Matter from Twitter.
Urban Meyer says WR Frankie Hammond (summer DUI) will play this week vs. South Florida.
-Bruce Feldman via Twitter.
A player gets a DWI at Mizzou and sits at least two games, at Florida, they play in the first big game? Which discipline do you think is more fair? And do you think that the lack of discipline is what it takes to compete on the level that Urban's teams do?
Fun Game After Week 1
Ok Tiger Fans, its clearly early in the season, but after one game you can already start to see which players on the team are unreplacable. My question to you is this:
Which 5 players on the team can Mizzou absolutely not afford to lose for the rest of the season? My answers after the jump. (Hopefully this does not cause a jinx which makes all of our best players hurt themselves)
Just In Case You Guys Needed Another Kick in the Crotch...
Tony Mitchell was declared ineligible to play at Missouri according to his AAU coach.
How about some good News?
Ricardo Ratliffe is officially enrolled in classes. This has been confirmed by Mizzou. He should be arriving over the weekend.
OMG OMG BILL's ON ESPN!!!!!
Nice Work William.
Why were we not told about the coupon code for the preview mag???
Because there is no link, I don't know how true it is, but someone related to the police department said on Power Mizzou that Jarell Harrison and Dominique Hamilton were ticketed last night for trespessaing while swiming in a pool after hours. While its not a big deal, and as its Hamiltons first offense, I'm sure nothing will happen to him, but after Jarell's problems in spring ball and the burglary arrest, this can't be good for him.
Englishscope24 0 RT @MU_Tiger86 @Englishscope24 In a game of 1 on 1 to 15, how many points would Kobe have to spot you to make it fair?
Love the confidence
