NYTimes: Melo not signing with the Nets
Carmelo Anthony is informing those close to him that he will not sign a contract extension if he is traded to the Nets, according to a person aware of Anthony’s preference.
What about Josh Smith?
I stumbled over this NBA.com article http://hangtime.blogs.nba.com/2010/11/02/smith-in-the-trade-mix/?ls=iref:nbahpt1. So if the Hawks, who recently gave an five year extension to Al Horford, are serious about cutting cost, why not offer them K-Mart for J-Smooth?
ESPN's Marc Stein admits theres no subtance to the trade talks
So, finally an NBA Writer at ESPN says it how it really is.
ESPN: Griffin out, Ujiri in
According to ESPN Ujiri is the frontrunner now.
Note from Nate: Fellow Denver Stiffs ... please do not copy/paste entire articles on this site. Please just share the link in the future like I've done above and if you don't have any commentary on it then please post it as a FanShot.Posting the entire article is copyright infringement.
Thanks and happy posting!
Pretty bummed Griffin is out of the running for the Nuggets job ...
JR Smith will NOT be traded
Chris Broussard: Denver will not trade J.R. Smith. No way, no how, according to sources. Again, Denver will not trade J.R
Ever since J.R. Smith sulked on the bench because of limited playing time (12 minutes) in Saturday's overtime victory over New Orleans, there's been speculation that Denver might trade him.
Well, you can put that speculation to rest. Plugged-in sources tell me the team definitely will not trade J.R. Smith before the Feb. 18 trade deadline.
Obviously, a ridiculously lopsided offer in their favor would change things, but I've been told emphatically that Smith is not going anywhere.

don't laugh: kmart for dalembert + carney
i know this sounds funny, but it works. the sixers try to unload dalemberts huge contract but can't fin any takers. i used to follow the sixers a lot and always liked sammy. cant tell you exactly why. but: he is a 6.11 (atleast) 250, very long, hyper-athletic, can run the floor, rebound and block shots. he is not performin well this year and his minutes are down, but that is becuase he's been unhappy in philly the last couple of seasons. when his mindset is right he can be huge, last night he had a 20-20 game in 30 minutes, the night before head had 7 blocks in the first half
sammy d could give us 10 points (dunks & alley-oops) , 10 rebounds and 2+ blocks in 25-30 minutes a game. plus hes younger than kmart.
