Patriots homer all the way. I've lived my entire life no more than 30 miles outside of Boston and I love it. I think this is one of the best sports towns around and love all our teams, but the Patriots most of all.

Patriots Awards: Defensive Player

Take a guess, I'll wait... Yeah, it's the Big Man Vince Wilfork. Is there any doubt Kraft and Co. should re-sign Wilfork? Are they seriously going to quibble over a few years and/or a few million?

Welker joins Stallworth to help Haiti

12

Former Patriot receiver Donte' Stallworth has called the public to arms (or Tweets, as the case may be here) in an effort to help Haiti. He declared earlier today that for every new person to follow him on Twitter (click here to join in) by midnight, he'd donate a dollar to the relief effort. Within about an hour, he had 19,104 new followers. Then, later in the afternoon, he brought this to the table ... That Wes Welker, his old Patriot teammate, has agreed to match Stallworth's donation. This is obviously a great cause, and a wonderful gesture by both Stallworth and Welker. So hop on board, if you have a minute, and help chip in.

"Before, it was (Tedy) Bruschi, myself, Ted Johnson, Richard, Ted Johnson, Rodney (Harrison), Vrabel, Ty Law -- We had them across the board," McGinest said. "We competed against each other, that was the thing between us. What I'd say is that when critical things were happening, we'd say, 'They are not scoring. They are not running, they are not consistently throwing.' Did we give up rushing yards? Yeah. Did we give up some big plays? Sure. But we didn't do it consistently.

Ravens safety Ed Reed told me, as we walked toward the team bus, "You know you’ve got to fight. We knew we had to fight against these guys. They’re champions. They’re champions." "Being in this league for so many years," Ray Lewis added, "I've watched the greatest of the New England Patriots, so you have to tip your hat to them. They are one of the top-notch programs in professional football."

Defensive Line coordinator Pepper Johnson considering DC job with Giants

1

Pepper Johnson, the former Giants linebacker and current Patriots defensive line coach, is not only a possible candidate, he would also be "very interested" in the job, according to two people familiar with his thinking. He has never been a defensive coordinator, but he has won two Super Bowl rings as a player and three as a Patriots assistant.
