Ryan Braun: What You Don’t Know About His Case Is Important
There are two voices that are seemingly being "silenced" in the discussion regarding Braun winning his appeal and the possibility that he was clean all along.
I'm with the author in that both statements/points of view seem valid to me. If in fact they replicated the results, that's the definition of scientific method.

Gerut Released
Per McCalvy
#Brewers reinstated OF Jody Gerut from the disabled list and released him. No place for him with Lo Cain playing so well."
Giants Won't Go Nuts To Get Hart
Closer Brian Wilson said Monday that the Giants don't need another hitter to win the National League West. But if management deals for Corey Hart, the Brewers' outfielder wouldn't be surprised.
Hart to swing for the fences
Corey Hart will be the next in line to ruin his swing in the up-coming HR derby at the ASG.
Jeffress Headed to Brevard County
As per Jordan Schelling: Jeffress has been promoted to Class A Advanced Brevard County and will be active tonight.
What Market is There for Prince Fielder?
As we approach the All-Star break, there's been a lot of discussion as to what's going to happen to players between now and when they become free agents. The main player mentioned is Prince Fielder.
Fielder has this, his final year of a 2-year $18MM contract, and his final free agent year in 2011 where the Brewers control him. However, with his agent being Scott Boras, the possibility of Milwaukee being able to re-sign him after 2011 seems rather remote. While some still hold out hope that Doug Melvin and the Milwaukee brass toss out a 5-year deal in the neighborhood of $120MM, the benefits of such a proposal are far out-weighed by the negatives.
With that said, let's take a look at the potential destinations for Fielder based on when the deal gets done and what those teams have in place. The potential markets, for my purposes, are teams that have traditionally over-spent for talent as well as have high enough payrolls or enough room to absorb the probably Fielder contract.
Lots more after the jump!

Brewers' 50th Round Draft Pick in Critical Condition
NEW ORLEANS -- Chad Jones, a two-sport star at LSU who was drafted by the New York Giants/Milwaukee Brewers, underwent surgery Friday for a broken left leg and ankle following a single-car, early morning wreck in which his SUV smashed into a pole.
Jones was admitted to the LSU Public Hospital in New Orleans in critical condition. His agent, Rocky Arceneaux, disclosed the injuries to The Associated Press. He added that the 21-year-old player was alert when taken to the hospital and was still in surgery in the early afternoon.
New Orleans' WWL-TV reported Jones suffered "a fractured left leg and had arteries and nerves exposed," and that doctors were trying to restore blood flow into Jones' foot.
Jeffress going to Wisconsin
With his suspension done and his forearm stiffness abated, he is being assigned to Class A Wisconsin.
Day 3 MLB Draft Open Thread
The MLB Draft resumes at 11 today with the third round, and will continue through to the end. Here's an open thread to discuss it.
Enjoy the draft!
Estrada to DL, Gamel Re-instated, Vargas Released
Heether was put on waivers to make room for Gamel to be re-instated to the 40-man from the 60 day. Confirms what a lot have suspected.
Apparently Marco "Ponch" Estrada has also been diagnosed with shoulder fatigue (retro to Monday).
And the Brewers could find no suitors for Vargas (yeah, big surprise) and he was outright released.
Sunday's Starting Line-up:
Weeks 2B
Braun LF
Fielder 1B
McGehee 3B
Hart RF
Gomez CF
Lucroy C
Wolf P
Escobar SS
Loe also has an out clause in his contract
As per McCalvy:
Triple-A Nashville starter Kameron Loe has a June 5 opt-out clause that would allow him to elect free agency, FoxSports.com reported on Tuesday. When Loe signed with the Brewers in December, I was told that the date was June 1.
As has been mentioned in other discussion, DM will have some big decisions to make over the next couple of weeks with people coming up on opt-out clauses and the 15 and 60 day DLs.
Who's in and who's out?
Decent article on Braun
From USA Today via the Appleton Post-Crescent:
"He's hip-hop. He's got game. He's got restaurants and a clothing line, too. And, oh, how he has swagger."
Capuano's 3rd Start
As per #AdamMcCalvy 6.2 IP, 7 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 1 K, 98 pitches, 65 strikes.
Really can't argue with that result.
Another solid outing for Cappy
Another strong outing for Capuano in Brevard County.
5IP, 6H, 1ER, 0BB, 5K
