Indy Cornrows obi-wan-kenobi

On the Dan Dacitch show yesterday many of the faithful Pacer fans called in and were rabid about wanting JOB fired and mr. Dan D (bball coach who has been fired before) continued to support the man saying we are only 3 games in etc etc ........ He is wrong! We are 3 years in and we have seen how this story ends, with us missing the playoffs and the fan base being frustrated by the things he controls in the game.

Indy Cornrows Put Granger on the block.

We are projected to lose 50.

Granger is not the leader we thought he was.

Hibbert is the leader we need.

Granger's stock will not go any higher than it is right now.

We have 6 wing players, 2 of witch need playing time to develop.

Will we wait for him to demand a trade? Then lose all leverage.

Been there done that.

I say put him out there and watch the offers roll in ...... I'm sure with Danny included we could pull off one hell of a deal that would benifit the Pacers for years to come. Either good young talent and or years worth of picks.

Love the local star McBazzles or McBizzles or McBobs ..... but he is not going to get us to the playoffs

Trading Granger would/could solidify this team and fill the holes that apparent Rebounding and Defense.

Both of which he has little time for now that he has a name and an all-star appearance...... I'm sure his agent/dad is telling him he must keep his scoring average up since he is not on a winning team.

I know we have alot invested in him but he is not going to win us games on his own and the team concept seems a bit lost on him @ the moment.

Trade high. Sell early just ask Mark Cuban it is a proven theory....

Indy Cornrows There are _____ reason to fire JOB ?

My displeasure for this team has curtailed my contributions to this site. I was just becoming to negative when discussing the Pacers. Sorry to say it but JOB is at that point too in my eyes after seeing him on NBA TV yesterday. He doesn't even like talking about his own team.

The #1 complaint I've read about Your Indiana Pacers over the past year is that JOB is possibly the worst coach ever. How many examples can we come up with legit and satire will do here's my 2 examples

1. He always looks like he is about to be forced to drink hot piss.

2. He refuses to play Roy Hibbert 30+ minutes.

Hoping for 1000 reasons to provide the Pacers in a certified letter from concerned fans.

Indy Cornrows Rumblings in New York

"New York is the media mecca as far as endorsements and being able to expand your personal net worth," Granger said. "The exposure you can get there isn't only nationally but globally. New York does all that for you."

Indy Cornrows Hindsight 20/20

Amidst all the frustration Pacer faithful are enduring I find myself trying to figure out where this team went wrong through this rebuilding process. I'm not exactly sure and hope you can help me, but I have it narrowed down to 2 bad decisions made by LB.

Trading Stephen Jackson PPG: 20.7; RPG: 4.80; APG: 3.8& Al Harrington PPG: 17.8; RPG: 5.70; APG: 1.4

for

Mike Dunleavy PPG: 11.2; RPG: 3.80; APG: 1.6 & Troy Murphy PPG: 14.0; RPG: 9.90; APG: 2.0

Not giving Van Gundy the money the necessary to come coach here, and settling for Obie.

I know people love T-Murder around here, but I don't. You will never convince me or anyone else this is not the most lopsided trade ever. FYI Capitain Jack is his nickname, EVERDAY we can see that we need a leader we traded him away.

Okay Dunthreevy, was hurt I'll give you that ..... don't just look at the numbers imagine having 3 options on the floor that can score rather than 2 (Jack, Al, Danny) (Danny, T-Murder)  essinetially we traded 40pts for 14.

Surly there is pleanty of debate on the above issue.

The coach issue is huge as well.

Orlando's record with Van Gundy 146 wins 70 losses 68%

Indiana's Record with Obie-1 - 90 wins 126 losses 42%.

Thoughts? should I see a Dr because I'm losing it from all this losing or does this make sense?

Indy Cornrows Gilbert Arenas

Washington seems to be a team in need of a change as well as our beloved Pacers. Is it even feasable?

Could we prize away Gilbert Arenas? Would he be able to make a difference? Would we be satisfied as fans to see an all-star come to town? Would that be change you could beleive in?

Indy Cornrows Mel Daniel's FIRED ... what is the real story?

As I approach 30 years of age I can clearly remember back to when I was about 10 years and old the Pacers were struggling but on the verge of something. All I heard from my family was that the no team could ever touch the ABA Pacer's they were talked about like Greek Gods and Mel Daniels was Zeus.

Indy Cornrows With the 2nd pick in the 2009 NBA Draft ......

The Pacers have a great opperotunity to continue their development this year. The second pick is going to be crucial. I keep hearing weak draft, worst in years, etc and so on. We will have roster spots available so the player taken needs to stick.

Is there a diamond in the rough that can be found in the second round.

Indy Cornrows "33"

Larry Bird, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Alonzo Mourning, Patrick Ewing, Scottie Pippen.

The names listed above compile a list of Hall of Fame NBA players who have had the jersey number "33" retired. There are enough reasons why I believe that Danny Granger will join this group for me to take time to write this.

Indy Cornrows "Rush sucks?" Haters can repent here.

Last week I wanted to debate the value of the trade and I had several responses that said "Rush sucks!" and Bayless is an all-star etc etc etc.

The debate was so rediculous I did not even want to engage. So lets start this conversation over.

Anyone think we should have kept Ike Diogu and Jarryd Bayless now?

Would Bayless be guarding the other teams best player? Scoring 30 grabbing 10 boards etc. Brandon is looking more and more like a young Paul PIERCE and not like James Posey in which some have compared his first 60 games in the NBA to.

Where is the ceiling on Rush? 6th man? Starter? All-Star?

Indy Cornrows Who won the Rush for Bayless trade?

It is time to debate.

Last spring Jarrett Jack, Josh McRoberts and Brandon Rush were traded for Jerryd Bayless and Ike Diogu. The Trailblazers are well on there way to the playoffs and the Pacers are well on there way to lottery. I personally am of the opinion the Pacers still have come out on top in this move. (Provided Jarrett Jack re-signs) Although, I know many of the Pacer fans out there believe Larry Bird missed the boat by moving the flashy Jerryd Bayless.

Indy Cornrows Will Indiana remain home of the Pacers?

There is alot of political posturing going on between the city and the organization I love the Indiana Pacers. The Simons from everything I've read are serious players in all things financial. I don't know if I can swallow the fact that they have lost money 26 out of 28 years. On top of this "figure" we are being told they can't afford to operate Conseco Fieldhouse. Another stange thing about all of this lies int he fact the Pacers turned down the money David Stern and the NBA made available for teams struggling.

I am not a smart man but I can smell propaganda about a mile away.

Can someone in laymans terms explain what in the hell is going on? Is this a ploy to get a new tax passed , or to maybe drive people into the seats of Conseco Fieldhouse? Somebody anybody please shed light on this situation.

Indy Cornrows New direction?

The Pacers are on the right track. Knowing that makes today's big news a little easier to take. Last year hearing that  M. Dunleavy would be out for possibly 18 months would have crushed the franchises hopes for two years. It might possibly be a opperotunity for a major step in the teams development.

Indy Cornrows Murphy Love expressed here ....

[From the FanPosts, Man of Pace appreciates the consitent production Troy Murphy has given the Pacers. I've really enjoyed the FanPosts of late, keep 'em up people. -CR]

I have been extremely critical of T-Murder this season. I always perceived him as a soft guy who could put up number worthy of a contract in the league but never become a winner. I have to say I have enjoyed every bite of the crow pie he has severed up with regularity this season.

Indy Cornrows Should Marquis be re-signed?

I contest that the Indiana Pacers are a better team with Marquis in the lineup rather than Mike Dunleavy. This season he has displayed solid defense and an abillity to adapt to whatever situation that is called for on the court. Now the question will be weather or not to re-sign him at the end of this season? I think Jarrett Jack should also be in this conversation tbecause his season he's deserving and should be offered a deal to return. What are your thoughts.

Indy Cornrows Letter to Larry ... burn after reading

[From the FanPosts, Man of Pace wants to convey his thoughts on the Pacers to Larry Bird...and the rest of us. - CR]

Dear Mr. Larry Bird,

Congratulations, on doing what most of Indiana thought you could not accomplish. The basketball fans in central Indiana have come around and once again embraced professional basketball. The pride has been restored but passionate paying fans will only follow a winner, except in Chicago with the Cubs I mean a team of Rhodes scholars and myself will never solve their problem.

With the Pacer's weakness' glaring so brightly I am looking for reasonable answers, that got me to thinking what are those 2nd round picks across the pond doing these days.

Remember Erazem Lorbek drafted in the 2005 NBA draft # 46

&

Stanko Barac drafted in the 2007 NBA draft # 39 by Miami and his rights were traded to Indiana

Both guys are playing, so I have listed are a few particulars on there progress and about them if you have never heard of these guys.

Indy Cornrows Change we can believe in ...

[From the FanPosts, Man of Pace is wondering when all the changes will start showing results. -CR]

Over the summer the Indiana Pacers acquired 7 new players. Each player transaction was warranted and will continue to help the franchise financially, but on the court the product remains the same. Is this change we can believe in?

Indy Cornrows The win over Sacramento ...

Forgive me all, but I finally made it to Conseco this year. I have been to numerous games in the past but this was by far my best Pacer exeprience ever.

The one thing I noticed was the Pacer's really take care of there alumni. I saw and was able to observe Bob Netolecky, Billy Keller, Darnell Hillman & Scott Pollard.

I saw Scott Pollard and his lovely wife hopping from seat to seat on the floor and  hollaring "Miller!" whenever Brad Miller his former teamate was near him on the court getting Brad to look at him and not the game. Pollard is a Pacer for life.

I was fortunate enough to be sitting next to Neto, Billy Keller and Darnell Hillman not to mention the Pacemates. I asked Billy Keller what he thought of K-Mart's shooting stroke and asked what he would change if he was working with him. Mr Keller shaking his head in disbeleif said "I wouldn't change a thing he makes more than he misses"

Hillman should teach a class in cool, he was the collest cat in the house pointing out everything Foster got away with down low, and keeping the Pacemate squad positive and energetic.

Now to the court.

Danny Granger is the leader of the team. During the player intro before the game DG runs out and huddles the team up and gets the guys pumped before they announce his name before the tip. It is really hard to put your finger on it but it's just the way he conducts himself on the court before during and after the game, he leads by example.

McRoberts needs more minutes. Six minutes netted him a +6 in the box score I know this means little but Josh McRoberts is  by far the most athletic big man we have. He has some very attractive offensive skills, his passing and handling the ball is what stands out to me the most. With some more minutes and confidence I think we will be talking about his shot soon. Another thing he's not  scared to get his nose bloody down low and this point is big for me, he tries to block shots and steal the ball and more importantly beat whoever is he is guarding or is guarding him he wants respect and is out there attempting to take it.

Stampede Blue Where is home for the Edge?

Edgerrin James has been quoted as saying he will not be back to Arizona in 2009. As any good reporter would, asked the follow up question was "where do you see yourself?" Edgerrin has always been very good at communicating through the media coyly replied "I could see myself back home"

I don't see any team in Florida that needs a running back, do you? After I looking over the rosters of Tampa Bay, Jacksonville and Miami they all seem fairly well stocked with running backs. That led me to review what else may be considered "home" for the former Colt and Hall of Fame possible James.

Jim Irsay and Bill Polian have been both said that Edge left on the best terms of any Colt in their era. The Colts brain trust knew they couldn't afford him and that he deserved his money so he left to get his money, and he did. An old NFL quote is "you only leave the leave with 2 things money and memories" The one thing he still does not have is the ring.

Dominick Rhodes was brought back after his pay-day in Oakland even though he had a post Super Bowl DU.I.. Oh yeah, Dominick and Edge came into the league together and were best friends here for 5 years. Our running game right now at this present moment in time can only be described at best as serviceable. Joe Addai is becoming more and more prone to injury and with his lack of size the loss of speed he has had to endure has made him obsolete in today's NFL.

Edgerrin’s 2005 stat line (last year with Indy): 15 games / 1506 yards 13rushing TD – Peyton was only sacked 17 times that year.
