According to MLB Trade Rumors the Red Sox have resigned Kotsay to a one year deal worth 1.5 million. I think this is a good signing, giving us more depth in the outfield incase Rocco can't start if someone gets hurt and a backup for Youk at first incase he has to play third or get injured. I didn't really expect him to take a deal as a backup but I am glad that we got him. Not to mention he has a hot wife(http://bigpapadaddy.files.wordpress.com/2008/03/jamie-kotsay-umpbump_com_8.jpg).

Jason Varitek and Paul Byrd Offered Arbitration

I think it is a good move by the red sox offering these guys arbitration. Jason Varitek is a type A free agent and we will get some draft picks if he goes elsewhere or if he accepts we sign him to a one year contract. With Paul Byrd we get a sandwich pick if he signs elsewhere since he is a B type Free Agent.
