St. Louis Game Time Team USA Donation

I came across this article about all the players who attended Team USA camp donating equipment to youth hockey organizations and thought it was pretty sweet.  A lot of the guys, including all three Blues players, donated to organizations in Minnesota or Michigan.  Considering most players donated to organizations in their hometowns, this makes sense.

Luckily for St. Louis, we are repped by Yan Stastny's slightly more gifted brother, Paul, who made his donation to Chesterfield Hockey Association.  Classy move by USA hockey and the players to promote the sport.

St. Louis Game Time Central Division Surprise?

Heading into the last few weeks of the season, the division that many thought to be the second-worst in hockey (nobody is worse than Southeast) could very well put all five teams in the playoffs. While it's not a likely scenario, it could happen.

The Red Wings, BJs, and Hawks are all almost locks to make it at this point, and the Blues and Predators are in a dogfight with a few other teams for the last two spots. While some Blues fans may hate the idea of seeing these divisional opponents do well, I personally think it would be sweet for every team in the Central Division to make it. Call it divisional pride.

Anyway, what do you guys think- cool? Lame? The least interesting post of all-time? Regardless, it looks like the days of the Central Division being a laughingstock are over.

St. Louis Game Time Blues are #2 in the NHL. . . in man games missed.

According to the Columbus Dispatch, the St. Louis Blues have had 245 man games missed due to injury, second only to the New York Islanders (261).

http://blog.dispatch.com/cbj/2009/01/nhl_injury_list.shtml

"For the better part of a year, this team has trained, played, and even golfed as hard as any them in the NHL in an all-out effort to be #1 at this season's end" stated Blues coach Andy Murray.

The Blues have had a rough run of luck this season, losing key players such as Paul Kariya, Andy McDonald, Eric Brewer, Erik Johnson, Jay Mckee, and TJ Oshie for significant periods of time. Now, with defenseman Roman Polak out with a broken foot, Murray and the Blues have an excellent opportunity to seize the lead away from the Islanders.

Said Murray, "It's like Walter said in the Big Lebowski 'If you will it, it is no dream'. And there is no way we are going to be beaten by those uppity Long Island fucks."

St. Louis Game Time Berglund 2010 Olympics

What do you think the odds of Patrick Berglund making team Sweden in the next Olympics are? I hadn't thought about it until I read this sweet article -  http://www.theprovince.com/sports/Blues+found+Sweden+Patrik+Berglund/1157924/story.html

Berglund downplays the possibility, but it is a definite possibility. As of right now he is 10th in scoring among Swedes while his stock is rising. On the other hand, guys like Alfredsson and Naslund's are falling. Plus one of the guys ahead of him is a defenseman (Lidstrom). So I ask, what are Mr. Berglund's chances of playing in Vancouver next winter?
