Just for fun......The Passion of Tebow
Not much is going on in the football world or with the Raiders in general. Its that part of the offseason where the next big thing on the agenda is Training Camp followed by Preseason. So I thought I would share a video I stumbled upon. I got a kick out of it, and thought some of you would too. Say what you want about Tebow, but I am glad we don't have to worry about him anymore pulling miricles out of thin air.

Moving forward: Who is Robert Turbin?
Who is Robert Turbin? I am only begining to become familiar with him myself. I have seen his name surface by Jerry McDonald and in a Mock Draft on Silver and Black Pride as a possible replacement for Bush. I would like to see Bush stay, but every day new complications arise making retaining him highly difficult.
RUMOR: We have our new DC
The orignial story is that the Raiders are interested in Stanford's Co-Defensive Coordinator Jason Tarver. He's 37 and was brought to Stanford to replace Vic Fangio after he left to join harbaugh in San Francisco. Tarver was previously with the Niners for the last decade as an outside linebackers coach and offensive assistant. Word in the Tweets is that he has decide to join the Raider Nation as their new DC. Details are at a minium for the moment, as awards and superbowl activites are currently taking place. But more info should emerge by Monday. With that said, How do you guys like the Hire?
Knapp Time, Saunders Out
As Time Ticks, the List Grows

"Miami's Todd Bowles interviewing with OAK tomorrow, and Green Bay's Dom Capers, Winston Moss and Joe Philbin could do so after season"
So I find this as an interesting developement. So maybe we will become Packers-West. But these are just possibilties out of green bay, who else can potentially come, will be reveled as time passes, but from the looks of it; we got a lot to look forward too.
CB Chris Johnson in Mourning
Today it was reported Chris Johnson excused from practice(Is still expected to play sunday) due to a death in the family. Apparently that an under statement to the actual situation at hand. His sister Jennifer Johnson was shot and killed in the Fort Worth, Texas area. His mother Della Johnson was shot also, but she is expected to survive her injuries. 46 year old male, Eugene Esters is being charged with murder and attempted murder. Esters is the father of Jennifer Johnson's 2 year old daughter. The child was not present at the scene when the shootings took place, nor was her other child. Sources from twitter, Jerry McDonald, and Profootballtalk.com So thoughts and prayers to the Johnson family.
Chester McGlockton passes at 42
We all know who Chester is and what he did as a Raider. Another raider passes, its sad that the deaths are piling up so quickly. Its been a tough couple of years for the nation. All the more reason to keep winning this season and honor those who have servered for the silver and black and paved the way for what it is today. McGlockton has spent the last two years coaching the D Line at Stanford. He also spent time coaching at Chabot Comunitty College in Hayward previously also. So R.I.P. Chester, you were a great Raider and coach. Glad I got to meet you for a bit. Have a drink with Mr.Davis for me in the big luxurary box in the sky. Rest easy big fella
T.J. Who's Your Momma is Offically a Raider
The move has been announced via the Raiders offical Twitter and Facebook page. No offical corrisponding roster moves have been announced yet. More to come soon.
Early Speculation and Analysis:
Speculation-Tonga will be cut if Reece is healthy. If a WR is going to get cut, most likely Hagan.
Analysis-From outside the bubble, this smell like desperation. But its a low risk high reward type move. Signed at the veteran minimum. He will be used as a possesion slot reciever. All the speed we have in WR core might benifit TJ. We'll see soon.
Update#1:T.J. will be wearing #84.
P.S......Championship!

This is why I love the Nation so much. The organization has done one of the classiest things I've seen in sports. Here are the following emails sent to Season Ticket Holders:

Raiders out of Luck, due to Pryor engagements
The NFL Supplement Draft has came and gone, with fate making Terrelle Pryor a Raider. Over the last few days, the Nation has made cases for and against the move. We have only lightly treaded it's impact. So with that being said, I will look at the other possible QBs of the future if patience had prevailed in Oakland. Here is a look at QB prospects we decided to likely pass on.
Raiders not welcomed in LA
That's what the article says at least. It paints a very different picture then anyone else in the media has put out. And by all accounts, it only reenforces what we believe, the raiders need to stay in oakland. Based on the article, LA hasnt changed much since the 80s regarding football. Even the highest grossing teams would have trouble out there. In the best interest of the raiders, Oakland should be its only home.
Check out the article here
Raiders sign an OT
Wanted to post this real quick before I go to work. The raiders have agreed to a 1 year deal with Stephon Heyer, a former member of the Redskins. He is 6'6 332 lbs and is only 27 years old. Dont know much about his playing history as far his strength and weaknesses. But it does sound good at first glance, also looks to leave Mario Henderson on the outside looking in. Probably wont be resigned, baring injury. The signing has yet to be confirmed but it sounds plausiable.
Raiders Cap# Over 17 Million
ESPN Reporter John Clayton reported that the Raiders are 17.1 Million over the cap. Now keep in mind this was reported before the wimbley deal. So this puts us around 7 Million over the cap now. So we have more contracts to restructure. Whatever it takes to bring back Zack and sign anyother help avaliable. According to PFT, there are 11 teams with 20 Million or more UNDER the cap. Bengals at the top of the list(or bottom?) at 40 Million under. This gets relevent with the Seahawks who have around 20 Million in cap space left. So they do have the money to fuel a beer run(a Miller Hiest). But what does work in our favor, is that the mininum cap spending doesnt take affect until the 2013 league year. So teams wont be penalized for saving money now. So even though the Seahawks have the ammo, I dont believe they're ready to unload a full clip. So theirs plenty of hope the Zack Attack will continue its act for the Greatest Show on Dirt(Borrowed from someone on here, I am not the sole inventer of it). Even ask Greg Papa, the game day voice and employee of the Raiders. On his radio show this morning he said "Davis didn't just give Wimbley $29 million to lose Zach Miller to Tom Cable" Well put Mr.Papa. He also went on to guess he could be signed by the end of the day. That shot of koolaide was a little strong for me, I would guess he is signed and under the cap by thursday.
As a last side note, Compass and the Raiders have teamed up again. They are doing 2 tickets for the Price of one special for the Jets and Patriots game. Suites are excluded, but who wants to be up there anyways? So if anyone is interested, check it out, sounds like a great way to start the season and sell out the first 2 home games. #RaiderNation

Wimbley Signed!
La confora reports via twitter that Wimbley has signed, the timing is interesting as Zack is in Seattle, and could be a reflection on serious nature it presents. Dont panic yet, wimbley under contract will free up cap room to resign Zack. Heres La confora's tweet
"K. Wimbley off the franchise tag in Oak - LB got new deal for 5 yrs, $48M, $29M guaranteed. OAK keeping its own"
Bring Zack Back!
Just Win Baby!
Raiders in AFC Championship Game
That's what Micheal Silver believes the Raiders are capable of this year. Very interesting artical, and it definately will get the juices flowin. We havent had much going our way recently(The Nnamdi Sweepstakes, Gaither failing phyiscal, and Zack rumored to be visiting with the seahawks[we wont loose him]), so I figured this story on Hue Jackson and Gruden is a nice pick me up, im ready for some football and a broncos smackdown.

Lofa Tatupu visiting Raiders:
<Adam Schefter is reporting via twitter, that former Seahawks LB Lofa Tatupu is visiting the Oakland Raiders today. With a need for a WLB, it makes sense for them to at least kick the tires and do their due diligence with trying to fill another need. If the Gaither situation has showed us anything, nothing is immenent. So this could very well be nothing. But I havent seen this posted anywhere yet, and thought I would do so here.>
Saint's Take: This would be an absolute coup! If I could select any linebacker to join the Oakland Raiders, Lofa Tatupu would be on my very short list. Totupu makes plays in the passing and running games and he is one of those players who has a nose for the football whose leadership or commitment to his team have never been questioned.
He is coming off of surgery on both knees and has played through six very tough seasons in the NFL, but, even if he has lost a half a step, he is a gap disciplined hole plugger who would be a welcome addition to Oakland.
Miller, Cromartie, and the Raiders
We are on top of most raider related news and rumors here at Silver and Black Pride(The PFT of Oakland?) But just wanted to throw a few thoughts out here that hasnt really been mentioned much recently. The Raiders are currently in pursuit of Cromartie, with the Jets also trying to retain his services. According to Raider Personel(As obtained from Steve Corkran) they have serious interest in him, but are not willing to break the bank on him. A matter of bad timing with the nnamdi to the eagles deal still fresh. It has been VERY quite on the Miller front. Todd Heap joined the Cardnials and other smaller name TEs have been signed already also. What does it all mean? Wimbley is the key to the whole thing. Once the raiders finally strike a deal with him via long term contract, will free up a lot of money in the cap. Maybe a restructered contract or 2 also and we can get Miller signed and MAYBE Cromartie. For our WLB need, maybe we can take a look at Lofa Tatupu who will be released by the Seahawks soon. Also heard we're thinking about bringing back Captain Kirk for a look at WLB also, but nothing immenent. Looking forward to the rest of free agency and see you all soon at the cards preseason game.
Raiders interested in Rosenfels?
Yes Raider Nation, another trade possibility looms around the corner. We're all aware that the QB position isnt set, and so do the raiders, They are making calls and placing offers, so far for McNabb, and possibly plan B, Sage Rosenfels of the Vikings. So we now have some potential options for starting QB of the 2010 Oakland Raiders. Who do you want as your starter?
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/03/28/report-raiders-interested-in-rosenfels/
Nnamdi to the Eagles?
Ok we have been desperate for details to the possible trading of Donavon McNabb. Well nearly an hour ago, Profootballtalk.com has provided some of of that. According to a trusted tippster of theirs, "Per the tip -- uncorroborated but nevertheless intriguing -- McNabb and cornerback Asante Samuel would go to Oakland, and cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha would go to Philadelphia." No mention yet if this would involve any draft picks if the terms of the deal stood as is. so Raider Nation, if your in Big Al's shoes, with the situation as is......Do you pull the trigger?
Raiders in the McNabb QB race?
Today Profootballtalk.com posted a story about the Eagles and their QB situation. Things got interesting when I read the following: "Charles Robinson of Yahoo! Sports reports that the Bills and the Raiders have inquired regarding McNabb's availability..." The rams are in the race also and offering a high 2nd. With Russell, Gradkowski, and Frye currently on the roster, should the raiders pull the trigger and make them a deal they cant refuse? With that being said, should Big Al make the deal?

T.O. to Oakland?
One year ago, speculation was that Oakland could be a potential landing spot for T.O. after his release from the cowboys, only to sign with the bills shortly after. One year later that same speculation is at it again. ESPN's Adam Schfter reports via twitter That T.O. could be on his way to oakland. "Next stop for Terrel Owens could be the black hole and the Oakland Raiders! This according to Espn's John Clayton." T.O. is in his 30's already, but wouldnt be a bad option for the raiders at this point. Plenty of pros and cons to this one, so what do you think Raider Nation, should we welcome T.O. with open arms or say thanks, but no thanks?
