Magic to play CSKA Moscow

As part of the Euroleague American Tour, CSKA Moscow will play the Orlando Magic on October 10. Along with CSKA Moscow, other teams in the Euroleague tour include FC Barcelona and Lietuvos Rytas (from Lithuania), according to ESPN.com. These teams will then go against the Magic, LA Lakers, Toronto Raptors, Golden State Warriors and possibly the LA Clippers.

I personally would love to see this. I try to catch Euroleague games when they show it on NBA TV and find the quick, uptempo style fun to watch. It's also a great opportunity to spot international talent and learn about the players overseas in case they make it to the NBA.

Magic will be first team to offer media guide on a flash drive

Not exactly breaking or urgent news, but it is a nice innovation. In an attempt to go paperless (for the most part), the Orlando Magic will have their 2008-2009 media guide on a 128MB flash drive.

From the Orlando Sentinel's Etan Horowitz:

The flash drive guides will be available to a select number of season ticket holders for free and they will also be sold for $10 to the general public.

But since most people who want to access the media guide information at a game won't be bringing a computer with them, printed copies of the media guide will also be available for $10.

The flash drive itself looks pretty nice, though standard; it's silver with a Magic logo.

Darius Miles attempting comeback

This might be of interest because according to SI.com's Ian Thomsen, Darius Miles has auditioned for the Mavericks in Las Vegas:

"He was much better than I thought he would be,'' a member of the Mavericks' camp said. "On a scale of 1 to 10, I was expecting him to be 6. But he was a good, solid 8.''

He also worked out for the Nets, Celtics, and Suns. Would you want him in a Mavericks uniform?

The newly-signed Gerald Green is also expected to join.

How about Keyon Dooling?

He will become an unrestricted free agent on July 1st. According to the Orlando Sentinel:

Dooling said earlier this week that he would love to re-sign with the Magic, but he also was clear that the business of basketball could take him elsewhere next season and beyond, depending on who wants him the most.

Neither Dooling nor Pelinka would speculate on potential contract offers, but there are several teams that are expected to show interest, including the Miami Heat, the Dallas Mavericks and the Utah Jazz.

His agent describes him as a "Swiss army knife. He can do a lot of things well."
