Here Is What I Know
Everyone that frequents Buffalo Rumblings can agree that the off-season seems to last forever. But between the combine this week, free agency, the draft, etc. there will be a lot to talk about. Like some, I try to stay as positive as I can about our beloved team. I don't have insider info, or a vast knowledge about defensive schemes or offensive playcalling. But here is what I do know:

Thoughts including Fitz, a poll, potential trades, free agent signings and BPA
I have seen a lot of chatter back and forth about Ryan Fitzpatrick on a number of threads, some positive, and of course some that were negative. I side with the camp that thinks he can take the Bills to the playoffs, with some of the right moves around him.
The Morning After
No one has ever said that being a Bills fan was easy. I don't know if that statement could have been any truer than at the end of yesterday's game.
Go ahead make excuses - I am!
So I'm not the type to make excuses for the Bills, but in reality I do feel there are a few that can be made. The game is won on the field, but take the following into consideration with the team, after the jump.
Week 4 Observations
Each week there are a few things I take away from each game, and figured I should share them with the group. Comments and feedback are always welcome.
Don't Cross The Moats Supports ACS
Arthur Moats has teamed up with the American Cancer Society for Don't Cross The Moats. Fans are encouraged to support ACS through the link, and have a chance to get autographed pics from #52. Great young player who is willing to give back.
Unofficial Draft Prediction Game
OK, most of us have spent enough time speculating who the Bills should or should not pick in this year's draft. Now it is time for each of us to make our predictions for the first 2 rounds. The rules are simple, and can be found after the jump.
Realistic Bills Draft Expectations
With the 2011 NFL Draft less than 3 weeks away, my expectations for the Bills have started to take form. I have read plenty of analysis from experts and fans, and think I have realistic expectations heading into the draft. Many of you may think - why be realistic??? Predict as many trade down scenarios as possible, project star players falling, smokescreens, etc. But when it comes to Buddy Nix and Chan Gailey, I believe their approach is quite simple.
Nice Article on Jake Locker
I know he has been a favorite of a lot of fans. This is a nice read...Locker has no regrets about going back for his Senior season.

A Look Back at the 2010 Draft
Bear with me on this. I realize hindsight is 20/20, but the lack of playing time from our first 3 picks makes this a worthwhile discussion.
The Optimistic Approach
While it is easy for many pundits and fans to predict doom and gloom for the 2010 Buffalo Bills, I am choosing to go in a different direction.

Mount Cody Signs
According to Aaron Wilson via Twitter, Terrence Cody has signed with the Ravens for $3.385 million. Hopefully this is just another piece to sign Troup.
Edit - Wilson has just reported that Cody failed his conditioning test. Chan and Buddy knew what they were doing with Troup.
Fitzpatrick Gets 1st Team Reps
Coach Gailey has a rotation set with the reps for each QB through the end of June.
Bills make additional cuts
Mendenhall and Mutcher cut today.

Random Thoughts Following The Draft Weekend
I wanted to take a couple of days before posting my thoughts, because I didn't want to write when feeling too emotional about who the Bills did or didn't pick. Here is my take on the weekend:
Outlandish Trade Prediction Thread
There have been tons of potential trades that fellow Rumblers have posted here in the past few weeks. Now that the draft is here, I figured it is time to share my trade predictions for the Bills, and encourage everyone else to post some of their trade thoughts. Maybe one of us will be right and look like a genius.
Schobel Decision - How much longer?
As the NFL Draft is just a few precious days away, there have been no recent updates from Aaron Schobel, and his potential retirement. As this has dragged on since the end of the season, it is my belief that he owes the Bills an answer prior to Thursday's first round.
Foote Expected to Sign with Steelers
According to Terry Foster on Twitter
Greetings from Siena
Hello from Loudonville. Interesting draw for our Saints against Purdue. Many of our fans thought we might be an 11 seed, but I'm sure many here have mixed emotions about your 4 seed. Siena has won tourney games in back-to-back years with wins over Vanderbilt (2008) and Ohio State (2009). Here is a breakdown on the Saints:
Bryan Bulaga Analysis
Here is a nice read from Mocking the Draft. Many are predicting that the Bills will select Bulaga at #9.
Brady Quinn
Per Rotoworld, NFL Network's Mike Lombardi is reporting that Brady Quinn will be the Browns #3 QB this season. It also notes that he could likely be had for a late round pick. While I did not see many Browns games this year (unfortunately I saw just 1...uggh), Quinn might be worth a late round pick. I'm not one to make multiple posts in one day, but this seemed as a possible option for the QB position. I would much rather end up with Quinn than Anderson, as has been discussed in an earlier post.
QB vs. OT
Brian's Mock Draft has got me thinking about the team's first round pick. I have been asking myself a lot of questions about what should be done, and feel like it could go either way. Can the Bills pass on a potential franchise QB with the 9 pick? Is the hole at LT just too big to ignore in the first round? If the Bills go OT and Trent Edwards "leads" the team to a 7-9 record in 2010, will he keep the job? If the Bills pass on a potential face of the franchise in Clausen, will the fans revolt? Finally, how much should leadership factor into the equation? The team lacks the spark and leadership necessary to be successful - should that also be considered when evaluating talent?
I"m leaning towards taking Clausen if he is available at 9, and then address OT with the 2nd round pick (or potentially trading back into the first). Thoughts?
Bills consider trading up?
John Czarnecki with the rumor that Buffalo may trade up to #2 if St. Louis passes on Sam Bradford. He also notes that Cleveland would consider trading up to #2.

Defense Questions
I need some clarification from my fellow Rumblers related to our switch to a 3-4 defense.
TO Discussion
As there has been much conversation recently about the future of the Bills' offense, there have been a number of different opinions on Terrell Owens' pending free agent status. Some here have indicated that they feel there is zero chance that he returns, while others have been more optimistic.
I believe that TO still has the talent to be effective for this team, with an upgrade on the o-line and qb positions. He is a better option than the other receivers on the team, and I don't see any free agents out there with the talent of TO. Josh Reed makes about half of TO's salary at this time. I would prefer to have TO, Evans, and Johnson to a trio of Evans, Reed, and a free agent. I'm not going to get into all of the numbers, but would be curious to get everyone else's opinion.
