Just wanted to get a consensus idea of Voracek. He's a player I was keen on going into the draft because I figured he'd be playing with Giroux and Hartnell. He's playing out of his mind right now so I think it might be the best time to sell high on him. I'm sitting in third in my league and don't have to make a desperate move because my offense is clicking, but could perhaps make a play at a slumping star like Seguin. On the other hand, while this pace is impossible to keep up, I still think he could be a valuable contributor to my team down the stretch. I'm hoping on getting some insight from the bloggers and fellow faithful readers. What are A) your thoughts on moving him and B) who would you been eyeing as a return?

Thanks for the help!

Need some major trade advice on this one:

I get:

Marleau

Yandle

Backstrom (Min)

I trade:

Fleury

Seems like a no brainer but I'm battling for a playoff spot and I'm expecting Fleury's numbers to get even better once the Pens get healthier. I'm worried about Backstrom's health but I could use the D and LW help. Standard yahoo scoring in my league. Here's my roster:

C: Tavares, Getzlaf, Roy, Oshie, Brieire

LW: Ovechkin, Neal, Benn, Booth, Ruutu

RW: Selanne, Doan, Stewart, Tootoo

D: J.Johnson, Subban, E.Johnson, Harrison

G: Rinne, Fleury, Crawford

Thoughts?

Long-Term Injured Reserve

I'm by no means a capologist, so I was wondering if someone could explain to me how the long-term injury reserve works. For example, if Sid goes on the LTIR, the Pens still pay him his $8.7, but does it come off the cap? Last season, this gave us room to bring in Kovalev. Hopefully Sid is back sooner than later, I was just wondering how it works. Any insight is much appreciated!

Tangradi Call Up in Near Future?

With injuries starting to take their toll on the Penguins a little earlier this year, Tangradi could be making his season debut shortly. A look at how Big Dog has faired in WB/S after the jump.

It's no secret that the play of Tangradi in recent seasons has caused some Pens fans to throw in the towel when it comes to the player deemed to be the next power forward of the organization. He didn't look very impressive before his 2010-11 season was cut short due to a concussion, finding the back of the net only one time in 15 games. His chances of making the opening night roster this year seemed bleak with the addition of new faces and sure enough, he was assigned to WB/S. Tony Androck has done a great job of keeping us up to date on happenings of the farm club at Highland Park Hockey and it appears Big Dog my be receiving a call from Ray Shero soon. Tangradi hasn't exactly taken the AHL by storm this season as many had hoped, but he has netted three goals and tallied seven points in as many games. He impressed in front of GMRS during the team's recent 3-0 blanking of Springfield, recording a goal and showing toughness by dropping the gloves. Not to be over looked, but sophomore forward Bryan Lerg has tickled the twine six times and added four assists in seven games. Should Tyler Kennedy's concussion keep him on the shelf much longer, I think we'll be seeing Tangradi in a Pittsburgh Penguins jersey sooner than later. Thoughts on his potential call up or have you lost hope in the 22 year old?

Bernier or Quick

This will probably be the goaltending battle of the season. I was wondering what you guys' opinion was of these two netminders and who will win the number one job. Quick had a solid season last year, but kind of just coasted into the playoffs where he failed to live up to his regular season form. Bernier has looked good during his cup of coffee in the NHL and has dominated the minors for long enough. I think Bernier will end up taking the reigns of this goaltending tandem or at least have the starts split 50/50. I'm interested to hear the opinion on Kings fans on this.
