Long suffering Isles-Jets-Mets fan.
I started watching the Isles in 93, Al Arbour's last hurrah.
I started watching the Jets during Ken O'Briens last season and the start of the Browning Nagle - Rich Kotite era.
I watched the Mets from when I was young all through the 90s. Finally saw them get good enough to make the World Series only for Philips to destroy the team.
Formerly known as WebBard which is/was short for Bard Of The Web. I've been using it since I was a wee little one on the internet. Ahh, Good Old Prodigy Internet how I miss you. Also if you do twitter you can follow me @webbard I'll admit, it's random and illogical.
I've actually been promoted, I now contribute at Lighthouse Hockey the Islanders blog. If your looking for stories which use a lot of the simpler stats (I'm lost when it comes to Corsi) then feel free to swing by and check my stories. Even if you don't like hockey swing by and read Lighthouse Hockey cause it's great.
I also work on The Bard's Blog which tends to be a catch-all for my opinions on everything from Hockey to Politics. Its also the home of 3 or 4 infamous "Milbury Sucks" blogs which are my pride and joy.
Naboov has been a good surprise for the Islanders this year after refusing to play for them last year
wow, lots of notable Islanders from the run missing, can you name them?
Bridgeport and Prospect update for 10/23 as we follow Islanders prospects to college, the CHL and around the world and report back.
Back in August I put out a call for people who wanted to take part in a tournament. Hoping to get 10 people involved, and with each person drafting 10 players from the Islanders history, it...
Wrapping up the beginning of the season for the Islanders AHL team Bridgeport and their prospects in Junior, College and around the world.
The Islanders 3rd jersey has been leaked again, and considering this one is coming from a sports catalog it's pretty definitive.
For those of you who are new, every Sunday I roundup the week that was for Bridgeport and the Non-AHL Islander prospects. In the long tradition of Lighthouse Hockey and my own, this idea was...

The NHL has recovered media-wise from the lockout, in part thanks to marketing Sidney Crosby. But with a new 10-year contract in place, now is the time to market the league's many other stars.
Although the running game just barely broke 100 yards against Oakland, this is obviously no longer the overpowering ground and pound attack that was Rex's signature. In 2009 the team rushed for 100...
Following last weeks comeback, it felt like Mark Sanchez has done his come from behind magic time and time again. I was curious to see how he did in the 4th Quarter as compared to the rest of the...
Wow "The Devils’ lenders have "a breakaway chance to push the team into bankruptcy" after the team missed their Sept. 1 loan payment, the New York Post reported on Monday. The Prudential Center in Newark, operated by Devils Arena Entertainment, is also "in danger" of bankruptcy, according to the paper." Maybe, Maybe some people will admit that the Islanders rebuild is doing things the right way. Nah, probably not, that isn't nearly as sexy a story.

Examining the arbitrary insanity behind ESPN's North American sports franchise rankings.
John Tavares' steady emergence as the best Islanders youngster in years is yet another reason to be excited for the 2011-12 season.
Among the many reasons to be excited for the 2011-12 New York Islanders season is waiver claim Michael Grabner, who's ready to break out after signing a five-year contract.
From PPP, since it's almost time to start worrying about it
I just wanted to take the time to thank everyone who reads/comments on Lighthouse Hockey. I began writing here about a year ago (around the time of the draft) and I'm just over 100 stories in now....
Grabner Tribute Video including every goal by him. Watching his Canucks highlights, it's hard to see how they traded him.
This rant by Quisp over at Jewels from the Crown is great, as the Kings are switching to their 3rd Jersey as a full time first.
Hey guys, with it getting close to the season and the return of the Weekly Prospect Update, I'm looking to get together a bigger database of stats and information on Islanders prospects. So I'm...
Is the East too talented for the Islanders to compete? We take a look at how the Islanders statistically compared to the East.
Brian Compton actually gets it, saying that Snow thought he had a playoff team last year before Streit and Okposo went down. Sounds like he thinks there's a good chance they are a playoff team this year.
Al Montoya arrived with the New York Islanders when both player and team were in desperation mode. Now both may make good on what was always first-round talent.
Can Nabokov help save the Islanders? Or are the signs there that his career is almost over?
It's August, there's going to be marginal news at best for the next month and we all could use something fun to kill time. So here's my idea, and it involves audience participation. We are going to...
Sean Avery Arrested for Pushing a Police Officer. He's since made bail.
As tough as it is to predict how Goalies will do between being drafted and actually making the NHL, defenseman can be even tougher. When Nicklas Lidstrom was selected in the 3rd round in 1989 who...
