iPhone is a whole lot cooler when you have this app. iCols will give you everything from profiles and search function for your area to a race calendar. If I had an iPhone I'd get this feature because I think it would somehow make my daydreaming of these cols more legitimate.
USA Cycling/Continental team rosters.
Steal this list for your own purposes or link to another story. I'm just being like officer Joe Friday. "Just the facts Mame." that's all I got.
The Six Day News/race day program for day 5
For your reading pleasure, while the racers are warming up. Apparently video is starting now but the Audio is echoing so it's horrible. Also by manipulating the date on the url you can also check out the previous programs. Nifty!
Sastre confirms he will race the Giro in 2010
Cycling News reports that Carlos Sastre has opted to race the Giro in 2010. Sastre had a good race at the '09 coming in 4th on the road winning two mountain top stage finishes and plans on improving on that performance. Also mentions that after the Giro he'll wait and see what he'll do next.
Day four is on now.
If I was your friend I'd post the link to the racing but Majope cleverly posted the link on the front page yesterday, use it! Derny drivers, american blues and who knows what more surprises they will have in store for us. Stand up Stand up. Stand up. Seventy five times, Stand up. Must not be giving me credit for two letter words because they want me to write a whole lot more before I can post. Is there anyone else who wants to stand up for Six Day races?
Ronde News (old news?)
Just a quick post because I know that someone else posted this article from Velonation and I missed it.
CAS rules on irregular blood values.
Cycling News has the story (link below). Speed skater Claudia Pechstein is apparently the first athlete to be suspended for having irregular blood values. The CAS ruling may have opened the floodgate for riders to be suspended for having suspicious blood values. The UCI apparently has five cases waiting in the wings and may now be ready to act on them. More news and reaction to follow this I'm sure. ( Three more words.)
A literal triple crown, only one man is going to wear that shoe.

Ciclovia/CicLAvia - Is LA ready?
Found this site campaigning for a ciclovia event in Los Angeles, the high temple of the all mighty automobile. Hope these catch on.

New shrine in Portland, Oregon honoring Madonna del Ghissallo is thought to be the first in the USA dedicated to cyclists. Chris mentioned in a thread sometime around the Giro del Lombardia that there was a need for a shrine, looks like his prayer was answered.
Found this interesting article in the "NY Times.":http://cityroom.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/11/03/gossip-of-the-cyclers-and-other-news-of-the-wheel/ "Gossip of the Cyclers" was a column first written 115 years ago and available today in the "archives of the NYT.":http://query.nytimes.com/search/query?query=%22gossip+of+the+cyclers%22&d=&o=&v=&c=&n=10&dp=0&daterange=period&srcht=a&year1=1851&mon1=09&day1=18&year2=1980&mon2=12&day2=31&srchst=p&sort=oldest The first column announces the annual cycle show at Madison Square Garden, an "Inter bike" of 1895, club meetings, group rides etc. Signing up for membership to peruse the archives at the NY Times is free and painless if you haven't already become a member. Great reading for these long winter nights IMO.
