Stampede Blue Fantasy Football?

So football starts on Thursday and I haven't seen a Fantasy Football email yet or an official post about it here yet. I'm assuming that it probably won't happen. Oh well. I had fun last year with it.

mgrex03 note: I apologize everyone. Moving sucked up more time than I thought. I've set up one more league, drafting Thursday at 5:30 (so it'll be over by game time). First 11 to join are in.

League #: 751667
Password: forehead

Shake update: if you played last year and aren't in a league yet, you should have gotten an e-mail inviting you to the B league.

For the rest of you,
League ID: 756264
Password: fivehead

It's autodraft as yahoo won't allow any more drafts today, and drafting tomorrow means no scoring for week 1.

Talking Chop Going to a Braves Game

Hey Guys, so I'm going to the game on Thursday at Turner field and I wanted to get some information from people that have been there before. For instance what's a good hotel in the area/parking/time to show up/places to eat in the area.

Since this FanPost needs to be 75 words long I'm adding this line in here, right in here.

Thanks for any help guys, GO BRAVES!

Stampede Blue 2010 Fan Confidence

We have the first preseason game done with already and with our next one on Thursday we are starting to get a feel for how our Colts will perform in this upcoming season. Every year around this time I usually get the feeling that "This will be the year that the Colts win the Super Bowl!" But I'm not 100% convinced this year.

So now we know why he has been sitting out. My wife, who is a Physical Therapist, says that he won't have full range of motion for roughly two months. She isn't very experienced with athletes she says but it's around that time frame.

I usually can find humor where there is humor, but this is nothing but hating on us for no reason at all. What else is new though right? It is Christmas Ape.

Hey does anyone have a list of the Colts players that are on Twitter? I'm thinking about starting an account to follow them.

Stampede Blue Game Thread Chat: I'm calling you out!

That's right I'm calling all of you out! You unfaithful dogs you! Oh and other quotes that I found funny. I separated the quotes into two categories and they go in chronological order. It's too much for me to try to sync them up with what was going on in the game but I'm pretty sure you can guess. I don't mean to put any of you "on blast" or anything. I just find it amusing. I know you all are die hard Colts Fans. My comments are in bold.

I hate myself for turning the game off. I should of learned my lesson from the 2006 AFCCG AND/OR 2004 Tampa Bay game, but I didn't.

Stampede Blue MarkFive's 5 Points

I know that emiller17 just posted his 5 bigs things, but I was working on this earlier. There were many good points that I can take from the game and along with that some bad points. Here is what I take from this perfect 8-0 Texan win.

Stampede Blue Dungy to Rest Players?

In the past couple years the Colts have wrapped the their playoff spot early and couldn't do any worse/better and traditionaly Dungy would rest the starters. In this game where so much is based upon timing and coordination, resting our starters have proved to be detremental to how the Colts performed in the playoffs.

With a win tonight the Colts will have wrapped up their playoff spot, #5, and can not get a better/worse spot. So do you think that Dungy will rest Manning, Freeney, and all the other important cogs that drive our team? Or maybe play spoiler and try to get Tennessee into a favorable (for the Colts) playoff matchup?

Music City Miracles Next Monday Night

Let me get this out of the way first, I am a Colts Fan.

With that said, I'm really looking forward to our meeting next Monday. This game will answer a lot of questions:

1. Can the Titans stay undefeated late into October?

2. Can the Colts get it together and make a push to win the division?

(Aren't those two usually switched around?)

3. Who are the Colts this year? Are they the team that beat the number one defense handily? Or they the team that allows 10 minute drives and can't get the offense moving.

4. Are the Titans for real this year?

The Titans are off to a tremendous start this year, and yes I am going to bring this up, their level of competition has not been that stiff so far. But this season is all messed up. No one is where they should be. The "Big Dogs" are having horrible years: New England, San Diego, Indy, Cowboys. The only ones are the Giants. But with a solid win next week the Titans will get more much due respect.

The Colts are off to a...rusty start, to say the least. Well at least compared to what we have come to expect. Manning has thrown for 8 TDs and 7 INTs, the Defense is giving up over 150 yards a game, and the coaching doesn't seem to have game plans some weeks.

So this match up will answer some of these questions for this season. The Titans usually can run the ball at will, the Colts can't stop the run to save their Grandmother's lives. Historically the Colts play some of their best football against the Titans and this Monday Night they will have to. Overall this should, as usual, be a great game.

Here's to a great game on Monday and the continuation of a great rivalry!

Stampede Blue It's time for Dungy to Retire

I am starting to think that Dungy's heart is not in the game anymore.

Over a undred yards in penalties, another game where we really didn't have a game plan offensively (or so it seemed)...I just don't think that Dungy is preparing the Colt's team effectively this season.

Now I'm not saying for him to retire right now, in the middle of the season. I'm just questioning his desire to coach. His son died a couple years ago, he has a best selling book, and another one in production, I just don't think his head is in the right place for this season.

I don't think that we will win the division for the first time since the conception of the AFC South. I'm praying for a wild card spot. I'm preparing for the onslaught of media members proclaiming that Marvin is officially done and that Peyton is too. I don't think they are, I think the Packer's secondary played an outstanding game.

But yeah, I am questioning Dungy's desire to coach football at this time.

Stampede Blue Hurricane Season

So it Hurricane Season again, and you know what that means, the annual evacuation of New Orleans.

Now I know that is a bit extreme but New Orleans has already been declared a disaster area, the National Guard is on standby, and the major will or will not call an evcacuation within the next 72 hours.

Reports are saying the the Army Corps did not repair the levees to a better standard than what they were before Katrina and many are wondering if they are going to have to go through the entire thing again.

The Saints are going to practice in 'The Luke' if there is an evacuation. But they do have plans to play their game in the SuperDome.

I wonder why they chose Indy instead of going to San Antonio like they did back in 2005. It would be interesting if they had to play their game in 'The Luke'.

So all in all, Hurricanes suck.

Stampede Blue CCFF

I know that CCFF don't like the Colts very much, but they way this article is written it seems as if Bob Irsay just punched their baby and then kicked their moms.

CCFF Icy Issues

AFC South
Icy Issue: Are the glory days over in Indy?
Icier Response: It's starting to look that way.
The Colts have been one of pro football’s dominant teams of the 21st century, winning 12 or more games in a record five straight seasons.   But the victory machine shows plenty of wear and tear.   Future Hall of Famer Marvin Harrison missed 11 games last year with a knee injury and turns 36 before the start of the season, making him a virtual fossil in wide receiver years. Defensive star Dwight Freeney went down with a foot injury last season, missed seven games and will be on the PUP list when training camp gets underway Thursday. So will 2007 Defensive Player of the Year Bob Sanders. No less a figure than Peyton Manning himself underwent minor knee surgery recently, and may even miss the first game of the year – which would end his amazing ironman streak at 160 starts. Most reports indicate that, at the very least, he’ll miss all of training camp.   Meanwhile, the Colts last year continued their grand tradition of failing to live up to expectations in the playoffs, with a one-and-done appearance following an impressive 13-3 season. The fact that the Colts lost at home on a fourth-quarter TD by San Diego back-up QB Billy Volek made it something of a humiliating playoff exit, even for an organization that hordes humiliating playoff exits like prized family heirlooms.   Oh, and don't forget: rumors continue to float around Indy that this is head coach Tony Dungy's last lap around the track.   But not only are the Colts wounded physically and emotionally, now they have to deal with the toughest division in football. The AFC South sent three of its four teams to the playoffs last year, and even traditional red-headed stepchild Houston went 8-8, the first non-losing season in the franchise’s brief history.   But those are just the anecdotes. Consider the Cold, Hard Football Facts: the AFC South combined to go 42-22 (.656) last season, the best record ever by an entire division.
Manning is still only 32 and still in the brief window of prime performance age for a quarterback. He’d give even a bad team a fighting chance each week. And the Colts are hardly a bad team.
But the Colts will limp into the 2008 season, the competition will be tougher than ever, and Indy's success-starved opponents certainly smell the blood in the water.

This article was written on July 19th and so they could not have the good reports from camp about Marvin or Freeney, but Bob Sanders has started on the PuP list the past couple seasons and still made DPOY last year and does people seriously think that Manning will not be the starter for Game 1?
Manning hates giving time to the backups in TRAINING Camp, when most other "stars" barely phone in an effort. He is the type of person that would be out there playing even if he broke his leg and it was still in a cast.
But enough with their thoughts on players, I really don't see any need for their comments on the Colts' organization as a whole: "...even for an organization that hordes humiliating playoff exits like prized family heirlooms." People only make comments like that when something awful happened to them.
So my only thought on this is that Manning, Irsay, Dungy, Marvin, Freeney, and Sanders all got together and punched the babies and mothers of the writers over at CCFF.

Stampede Blue NFL Network

So I finally got the NFL Network and I'm watching all the games that I missed while I was in Boot Camp during the season last year. Currently the dreadful San Diego vs Colts game is on where Manning threw 6 Ints. I love the commentary that the network has with players and the sounds of the game that they throw in.

The game just reached the 4th quarter and I'm seeing just how dominant  the  Colt's  defense  was.  It  really  is  some exciting  stuff  to see  Freeney  come  off  the  edge,  perform  his  spin  move and  force  Rivers  to fumble the ball in the endzone and the Colts recover it for a TD. I really hope he can do that again this season.
