Baltimore Beat Down Troy Polamalu and BIG BEN are reported out

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/11/28/glazer-roethlisberger-out-with-concussion/

This should greatly increase the chances of the ravesn winnnign the game. Hopefully Greg Mattison can create a quick game plan for Dixon a running QB.

:Despite several days of optimism regarding the availability of Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger for Sunday night's game against the Ravens, Roethlisberger will not play, according to Jay Glazer of FOX, via Twitter.

Glazer reports that Roethlisberger has been suffering from exercise-induced headaches.  Thus, the team has decided to shut him down.

Starting for the Steelers will be Dennis Dixon, a fifth-round pick in 2008 who slid down the draft board after suffering a torn ACL during the 2007 college football season.  (He actually played with the injury for one game before getting surgery to repair it.)

Dixon steps in because veteran Charlie Batch suffered a wrist injury during the handful of snaps he took in overtime on Sunday against the Chiefs, after Roethlisberger took a knee to the head.

Doubts regarding Roethlisberger's availability for Sunday first emerged on Friday, when Jason La Canfora of NFLN reported that Roethlisberger might miss the game."

Camden Chat Orioles sign Mychal Givens

A little surprising... bonus terms haven't been anounced yet

{Edit} Jim Callis from BaseballAmerica.com is now reporting that the bonus is at 800,000 dollars

http://www.baseballamerica.com/blog/draft/?p=1702*

http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/orioles/bal-osdraft0817,0,1319980.story

"The Orioles went down to the last few hours, but have come to terms with their second-round pick, high school shortstop Mychal Givens.

Terms were not announced, but Givens, reached by phone 90 minutes before the midnight deadline, said he was eschewing a scholarship to Oklahoma State University to sign a contract with the Orioles.

“It was a tough decision,” Givens said. “It’s good for me and my family. I can spend another year around here.”

Givens has not yet undergone a physical with the Orioles, but said it was being planned by his representation.

Givens, who was considered one of top high school players in the country heading into his senior season at Plant High in Tampa, Fla., dropped into the second round, but apparently was seeking first-round money.

Orioles amateur scouting director Joe Jordan cut off negotiations last week, but they resumed this weekend.

“I can’t wait to get to the big town of Baltimore and meet the fans and have support of the fans,” Givens said.

He is expected to stay near his home in Tampa and begin instructional league this fall in nearby Sarasota, and have spring training there as well. Being able to stay close at home with his 16-year-old brother and 14-year old sister for several more months instead of going to Oklahoma also played into his decision, he said."

Baltimore Beat Down What About Antwan Barnes?

Why do people keep forgetting about Barnes? He has a ton of talent, and is a good pass rusher. Why is he never mentioned, and is always forgotten. I think he has the possibility to take Jarret Johnson's job next yr (if Kruger stays at DE.) Where is the love for him, and why isn't there any for him. I know we love Jameel, but what about Antwan!
