This is a pretty simple question, If a team would settle for only one, who would you trade for the real power hitter that we need?

I think the we should obviously keep Tillman, but he's also more valuable than Arrieta. But... Arrieta is just plain cool.

Tillman: 22 Years old, still devolping his pitches, better stuff, probably a brighter future as a top of the rotation starter. But more likely to net a deal with someone for the big bat.

Arrieta: 24 years old, A little less command than Tillman (at times), easier to keep, harder to get the big bat without giving up more.

Let me start by saying that first reaction was simply, "No".... But after letting it sink in for a day, these are my thoughts.

The Good: We will be getting him for half as much as we were the first time around. If he can do what he did last year, he fills our right-handed void. He can still hit for average (.313), He is still a doubles machine (46), though probably helped by Houston's large CF (that hill is just dumb). He's still an overall good hitter. He adds a veteran presence, and he has always had a great arm. And the three or four players that know him all liked him.

The Bad:He is going to be playing a different position. I don't think he'll have too hard of a time adjusting, but you never know. He didn't usually hustle down to first base. He was an asshole, and he was a lier. From personal experience, he always will be an asshole. Remember the E:60 interview? "Miguel, Is this your birth certificate?"

"Prolly!"

The Lineup Dilemmas:  Where does he bat? 2nd? If so, Markakis would be pushed to 4th. Nick is not a cleanup hitter, He produces best from hitting 2nd(With protection). Where does Wieters go? As far as I'm concerned, he NEEDS to bat 3rd. he has said he's most comfortable there, And his September surge proved it, so why put him anywhere else when he needs to be at his best? Bazooka Jones has become a lost man in the batting order. He was best from 2nd, and mediocre to awful at 3rd. Reimold said he's most comfortable at 5th, and with his potential as a healthy player I think he could hit 25+ HRs this year.

So Miguel, What is it going to be? I think our best lineup would be

1. Roberts

2. Markakis

3. Wieters (Anywhere else and he might not reach full potential)

4. Jones (Yep, Jones as our cleanup hitter)

5. Reimold

6. Tejada

7. Scott

8. Atkins

9. Izturis

To me that seems like our best possible lineup, And it actually sounds like a legitimate threat. If Tejada bats 3rd, Where does Wieters/Markakis/Jones go? Those three have to be in our top 4. Tejada doesn't have enough power anymore to hit 4th. Tejada and Reimold could be interchangable between 5th and 6th, but Reimold has more of an upside at this point.

And that's all I have to say about that.

I for one, Think that "This is Birdland" as our slogan is almost moronic. I guess they're trying to keep up with "Red Sox Nation" and "Yankees Universe", But Birdland just sounds ridiculous. But at least it isn't as stupid sounding as the Mariner's brief slogan, "GET YOUR MOJO RISIN'!".

I would prefer something like, "WELCOME TO THE O-ZONE, BABY!!!".

So, Do you guys have any other ideas for a new slogan? Birdland is getting on my nerves.

I was wondering if the vouchers for the three games in April or May could be used for prime games. I can't find anything that says they can't, But I can't find anything saying they can. I asked this question on the official orioles message board, But I got some confusing answer that didn't make any sense.

I want to go Opening Night against the Yanks. KKKoji FTW!
