From the Albany, NY area. Lived in Columbia, SC when I was little. Then on to Houston, TX where I "grew up". Moved back to the Albany area (Saratoga Springs), went to Siena College (GO SAINTS-perennial NCAAB cinderellas) and fell in love with the area, thus here I am!
I go to as many Titans games as I can (when they play in Foxboro, NY, or Baltimore)...but only been to 2 games in Nashville, great times!
Love my Titans, Rockets, Astros, & Siena Saints!

Since we are all bored...
Here is an article from Kuharskey on the QB's drafted by us and the Kittens in the 1st round. We touched on this
the other day and it seems to be a huge issue when we think of who, if anyone, will be brought in to play ahead of Locker. We all know Smith can't. At least not now.
While we are at it, any nicknames for Jake yet? Man I can't wait for some football! On a side note, any ex-military guys/gals participate here, or anyone with basic military knowledge? After viewing the photos from the raid on OBL's crib in PAK, I can say with almost absolute certainty that the chopper ST6 used was not a UH-60, but looked like a chopper we havent; seen yet. Any ideas/suggestions? Reports said they (residents/military personel at the PAK base) never heard nor saw the choppers. And they were not picked up on PAK radar. When the SeALs notifed the PAK military while heading out they scrambled fighters but could not find nor catch the choppers....and they had a ways to go to get the Afghanistan. Odd.......
2011 Draft's QBs
So we identified our guy, Locker, and took him at 8. Some of us wanted Locker, most did not, especially not at 8 (myself included). Not only that, I was terrified when we were on the clock and Gabbert was still sitting there. But every QB taken has a unique skill set, and each team that drafted them seemed to do a god job matching the skill set with their offense, ours included. Most of us recall I was very high on Kaepernick and wanted him badly, followed by Locker and Dalton. never in my wildest draft dreams did I think the QB's would go where they did, when they did. I am just wondering how we all think the 2011 QB draft class will fare. And while I was a CK fanboy, I am now 100% on board Jake "Davey Jones'" Locker pirate ship. I look forward to him raping and pillaging opponent's defenses for years to come.
After the jump, you'll see a good lil tidbit from Peter King's MMQB Tuersday edition about Kaepernick. It seems as if this draft class of QB's (specifically Locker, CK, Ponder, & Dalton) are football players. Guys who want to be coached, who want to be the best NFL QB's they can be. While they don't come with the hype of some of the previous "OMG this draft is fielding future HOF QB's and will be remembered as an all-time great" draft class, it looks solid. A heckuva lot more solid than we thought coming into it.
WR's...draft or sign?
We have all seen so many scenarios for the draft, and most of us feel strongly that our pick will be for the D. However, no one wants to reach for a player. That being said, every mock I have seen has at least 1 of the 2 top WR's still on the board when we pick, and there are quite a few of us that want that guy-Green or Jones. While I am no fan of drafting offense at all this draft (unless there is a QB we want at 39), any time you have the opportunity to strengthen a position, you take it. Now do I think Green or Jones is an upgrade? No, because they have proven nothing in the NFL. However, I offer up this question: Why draft a guy, Jones or Green, at 8 and pay the money that a #8 will get when we can potentially sign......Plaxico Burress? Burress will come cheap, real cheap, because of the perceived risk. In fact, we could probably get hm with a nice, fat, incentive laiden contract for 2 or 3 years with $2 or $3 million total guaranteed. I say 2 or 3 years because I doubt he will be receiving too many, if any, offers beyond a 1-year deal. So there you have it. A known quantity ON the field. If Vick's situation is any indication, Plax will work out just fine once he finds a home.
2nd Tier QB's
Here is another article about the "Level II QB's" guys from Rang over at Sportsline:
If we do grab one, hopefully he just WWIIINNNNZZZZZZZ!!!!!!! Personally I'd like to see Kaepernick as my first choice, then Dalton. Enjoy and comment away!
New FA's a fit for the Titans?
So today RB Clinton Portis was released by the 'Skins, DT Tommie Harris released by the Bears, and WR Sidney Rice will be leaving MN. Could we be in the market for their services? I see the following fits:
Portis: plenty more serviceable than any backs on our roster after CJ, and can be relied on in 3rd down situations
Harris: Potentially a beast in our rotation on a thin and small DL
Rice: still young and just broke out. would cost a fortune though.
ANDDDD........DE Marcus Spears from the Cowboys released...
Mawae Interview
For anyone who has not yet heard or read about this, here it is.
Now earlier in the season I commented on how CJ does not look right. Most called me crazy and accused my of blasphemy. Apparently I am not the only one who thinks CJ STILL isn't right. That being said, he's still CJ. And CJ at 80% is better than most backs at 100%. Also, pretty much everything Mawae said falls in line with topics we have discussed and mostly agreed on. One thing I don't recall discussing, though, is the box count. Come to think of it, we have, and will continue to, seen/see 8 and 9 man fronts. Even with Britt on the field. And it's really never been an issue before. Why is it now?
Anyway, I thought it was semi-kinda-but-not-quite-maybe-it-was a slap in the face to Fisher from Mawae. Also, it is odd to see Mawae throw a player under the bus, is it not? I really don't know...
Also, Kerry won't have to run for his life Sunday...Mario Williams is on IR. If each division in the NFL had a team comprised of players on IR, the AFC South would win it all, and it wouldn't be close.
ADVICE???
Whats up Titans Faithful (hopefulley so even after the Texans game)!? So I am coming down for the Titans/Jags game and will be in town for the weekend w/ my gf. I chose this game over month ago when we were 5-2, talking SB, and figured the Jags game was a shoe-in win...hahahaha not so much now, but hey, it's still going to be awesome. We are staying downtown and are looking for things to do. More imporatntly, where can we get the best grub in town, regardless of cuisine or cab fare? Restaurant, hole-in-the-wall, ma-and-pa joint, etc, doesn't matter...also, where are good places to hang and drink (bars, clubs, etc.)?
Lastly, where's the best place to tailgate? We were just going to bring booze and snacks and walk around before the game...ideas???
HUGE Titans Fan Needs Assistance
Hi MCM'ers! First I will start off by saying I am addicted to the site and have been for quite some time. Thank you for the insight, information and opinions! I also get a kick out of the interaction...you all rock! I am a Houstonian living in upstate NY and haven't been to Nashville since Dec. 16, 2002-a MNF beatdown of the Pats, 24-7. I DROVE down! never again. While I go to many Titans games (Baltimore, Foxborough-including the 17-14 loss in subzero temps-I HATE the Pats, NYC, and even a Miami game), I can't wait to get back down there! I am going to the Titans-Jags on Dec. 5th. Before I get ripped off on ebay or stubhub, I was wondering if anyone has decent tix for sale-I'd rather give an individual the $ before a corporation. I would love to meet before the game and purchase them, as well as put a few back with whomever I meet. I can be emailed at tmarkus003@gmail.com
Thanks in advance!!!!!!!
