Marion Barber
Word is that Dallas will be cutting Barber? I am wondering what kind of conrtract he would be in the market for, but McNabb made a good name throwing those screen type dinky passes to Westbrook in order to move the chains. Toby Gerhardt could certainly be that option, but Marion Barber to me would make a saolid third down back and you could use both Toby and Marion in a split backfield. Blocking may be the issue.
Would do you guys think?
Pau/Phil Riff
Wow, Phil laid into Pau last night like I have never seen him do to anyone before. ANd rightfully so, Pau's confidence looks to be shot. Late turnovers was just unacceptable. Pau started to jaw back toward the end and I hope now that maybe this will light a fire. I am not giving up. Never been done before in the NBA, but did happen in the NHL last year and almost happened in the NHL this year. Just a terrible feeling inside right now. Cant wait for tomorrow. One game at a time. ITS NOT OVER!
Tonight's Games
If the Devs get the 2 points and Toronto and Atlanta lose in regulation, the Devs would move into 10th place as they have more wins and that is the tiebreaker. Carolina has Columbus and the Rags have San Jose, so some big time pieces can fall into place tonight if all goes well. The Isles are no pushover and the Devs will be tested big time tonight. Exciting night in hockey! LETS GO DEVS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Carolina and Ranger Games this week
Look, Im a realist and do not belive that the Devs will end up making the playoffs. It sickens me to say that as I am an avid fan of this team. I, on the other hand, have not given up hope. We have 2 crucial games in which we need 2 points each and no OT wins in the process that will give me even more hope. While the Devs have to continue winning, they need to win in regulation. The fact that they beat Carolina and Toronto last week was big, we let each of those teams get a point. I think if the Devs can win these 2 games IN REGULATION, and of course get some help along the way (Atlanta is playing on the West Coast, FLA has Detroit and Philly coming up) and although Buf/Tor play each other, we still have teams like MTL, St Louis and Ottawa that can give us some help with big wins.
In a perfect world, we would win both in regulation and all of our help pans out, but I think lets see where we are coming Saturday morning before starting to pull the plug on the season and sell off. Obviously, we all want Zach back with this team and I would rather sell and not make the playoffs this year if I knew that would happen, but nothings for sure. Lets ride the wave through this week and see where it takes us.
Tomlinson choosing the Jets
Suppoesedly sources are saying it is a done deal and we will get an annoucement today or tomorrow that LT will join the Jets instead of our Vikes. See article. where does this leave us, i wonder. Westbrook or the draft or give one of the younger guys a chance. Living in NY I know alot about the Jets and every good year they have is followed up with a bad one. If LT wanted a better chance to win, he would have chosen Minny. But Speilman and Chilly didnt seem 100% positive that they wanted this guy, so hopefully their backup plan is good. I think he would have been a nice fit. I guess the Jets are paying more, or shall I say overpaying more

Brett's Appearance on Leno Tonight
Wonder what he'll say? Leno is a terrible interviewer in my opinion and wont opress the issue too much although I hope he does. I think we will get what we got out of the Joe Buck Show last year. A whole lot of hints, but nothing to give us a clear indication of what his decision is. With trades starting to begin, I would love for Brett to let us know real soon, if not tonite, so we could deal for McNabb if he dosent come back. Although Brett would be my first choice. God help us if we are stuck with TJack or Sage.
Williams, Edwards Injuries
Anyone heard the latest on these? Dont seem to be too significant, but it would be a totalk bummer even having one of these guys out on Sunday? If Edwards has half the game he had last week, Brees will have a rough time and Williams is very key, we definetly need him as healthy as possible, so maybe its just rest for some minor injuries that they needed. Hopefully, PA or Common will have some detailed updates today
Doc Emrick at his finest
The call last night with the voice cracking was awesome.

Doc Emrick is the greatest announcer ever. Gary Thorne is up there, but none better than the doctor. SAVE BRODEUR! You watch the Devs games and then tune into the Isles or Ranger ganes and there announcers are so damn boring. Doc makes watching the Dev games that much better. Tuesday night will be a perfect example, go back and forth to MSG and listen to the Ranger annoucers if you can stomach them (Rosen) for a minute, then come back to the Doctor. Not even close.
Dean McAmmond
How good is this guy playing? Dosent have that many points and, of course, I unbderstand he is playing alot with Zack and Patty? But when I watched this guy in the past, especially with NYI last year, i didnt see the intensity and skill from him that I see here. I really do believe the Devils system brings out the best in players like this guy. Doc and Chico have been ravin about his play as well. I think he has earned a permanant spot in here in even with Zubie and Clarks coming back. Pikkarainen and I guess Pelley are the 2 odd men out I guess, but they have been playing well also. Come to think of it, we are atop the NHl so the whole damn team is playing well. Fun to watch.
After EJ, Why keep Favre in?
Chili is out of his mind. that devasting injury to a player that some can argue should have already been pulled at that point. AZ was already in FG range with 6 minutes left. Henderson goes down and they are down 21 pts. he leaves Brett in the their, they get a TD late, so you figure an onside kick, when they kick the ball 20 yards down the field out of bounds. I dont know, maybe its just me.
hopefully this kid Brinkley can fill in nince for EJ, but this is a tough, tough loss for this team. they need the CBs back and start steppin it up.
UFA's avalable
Injury's are start to pile up. anyone know of available UFA's looking for a team to fill a position that we may need? Pando, Martin, Oduya and now Zubie all out. I know that Pando or Martin due back soon, i think, but McAmmond has been solid but We have too many youngsters in the lineup at one time. Bergfors is the only everyday new guy on this team on think in the young guy cartaegory. Halischuck has been nice, Peters, Fraser, etc....but i think we could use a little help at this point
Rob Neidermeyer
I like this signing. He has been around for a while, and should be a nice addition to this lineup especially since Patty may be out for a little while. I wish we tried to sign him a while ago, so we could have maybe lured Scotty back as well. I think we will have a bunch of young kids get chances this year, including Tedenby and Bergfors, along with probably Josefson at the end of the year. Jacque should do a nice job. We will win the division this year. Yeah I said it. Im not being pessimistic. The best move in the offseason that I thought could happen to us came true. SUTTER IS GONE! THANK GOD!
