The Phinsider Philbin & Contenders Now???? > YES!

The process was long, we were all impatient but truly believe Ross/Ireland picked the Man we needed now!

  • At the end of the season we were playing very good & almost beat the Patriots (who are in the AFC Championship game, again).
  • We can bring Flynn in and Philbin already knows the system Flynn is acclimated with, instead of making Flynn adjust to something he has to learn> best chance for success!
  • Not needing a QB in the draft allows us to solidify our O line (which is probably 3/4 there) and PROTECT Flynn.
  • We can also go out and draft Nasty TE....watching the playoffs shows how beneficial they can be!
  • Plug some holes on our D though FA & draft.
  • I like our receiving core, hopefully Philbin can get Gates involved and make him a weapon.
  • Bush has proved to be a every-down back + will be a great weapon in the spread offense.
  • Thomas is decent & strong, not ready to give up on.
  • Flynn seems to hit receivers in stride which plays into Marshall's ability to get yards after the catch.
  • I like RGIII as well but I think we would have to give up too much to get him + no guarantees & the idea of packing someone like Long to get RGIII is INSANE .....trade a perennial pro-bowler arguably the best LT in the game which Leaves a HOLE in the Line so your new QB can get killed...um NO.
  • Don't tell anyone but with Philbin we may actually have a high scoring offense...shhhh.
  • Our D is solid and in the Top 10, I think retaining Bowles would not be a bad idea.
This is an argument of why I feel we can be contenders Now in 2012, not a pipe dream, but it all begins, and is only possible with, the HIRING of PHILBIN as our Head Coach.....nice job Ross ...you may have just brought back credibility and legitimacy to our proud franchise!

The Phinsider Eagles Want More than a First Round Pic for Kolb

Eagles do not want a First round from this year...but rather a First & either a Third or Forth from next year's Draft.

Now, I have been on the let's go get Kolb "Band Wagon" but the asking price is getting too high for a QB who had a few good games. Let's not forget that he was drafted in the second round, and yes he has been groomed to an extent and may turn out to be a very good QB.....but, I mean but.....a First and a Third or Fourth...Wow. Carson Palmer can probably be had for much less (if he becomes available) and if he has a good support staff we could go far. Draft Kaepernick to be developed while Palmer is running the show...that would work.

OR.......Simply Draft Mallett in the First and GO FOR IT!

I am on the Mallett Bandwagon above all other scenarios!

The Phinsider Bill Sheridan is New Linebacker Coach for the Fins

Bill Sheridan did a fine job in four seasons as linebackers coach with the Giants -- good enough to inherit the defensive coordinator position once Steve Spagnuolo became head coach of the Rams.

As defensive coordinator with the Giants, Sheridan did well enough to get fired after only one year.

So now he'll get another crack at being a linebackers coach, with the Dolphins.  Specifically, he'll coach the team's inside linebackers.

The Dolphins announced the move this morning.

The Giants used a 4-3 front for all of Sheridan's time there.  Miami employs a 3-4 attack.

The Phinsider Terry Glenn

Rotoworld is reporting that Terry Glen has been released by Dallas and will sign with the Dolphins within a couple days! This is complete suprise out of the blue....I thought our receivers were doing good....on the other hand he is still a great receiver & could teach out youg ones alot. Being reunited with the Tuna, add another threat on offense, give our struggling QB's another great target....it can only help. I just hope one of our QB's begin to step up!
