Peyton Manning's doctor said X-ray and CT examination of the surgical area shows fusion performed in September has achieved firm fixation.
However, there still is no timetable for Peyton Manning to return to practice, despite encouraging x-rays and CT scan.

Way to go Mr. GM! He better hope he makes enough on this one night to make up for no biz the rest of the year!
Lucas Oil Stadium too quiet
Let's get LOUD Sunday. Unfortunately the new home is a lot quieter than the old. Let's change this against the cheatriots.
Time to go Sanders...
Not that this surprises anyone he is injured, AGAIN. What pisses me off is the fact that he and Caldwell both stated, "He came out of the game unscathed." Yeah right. And now with Gonzalez possibly having a torn PCL, instead of a sprain. How do you not see if it is torn or sprained? Sweet medical staff we have. I know you can't avoid injuries, but every year it is something like this.
Gonzo getting second opinion, could be out long than expected.
Get well soon AG!
Fantasy Advice
So there is this guy in my league who is a huge pats fan. He already has brady on his team. I have moss and he is trying to get moss from me. Here is what he offered:
I GET:
Andre Johnson
Jason Witten
Devin Hester
Jonathan Stewart
I GIVE UP:
Randy Moss
Lendale White
Earl Bennett
I play the guy in Week 8, which is when the pats are on bye, so I wouldn’t have to play Brady/Moss. I would be replacing Randy with Andre, replacing either Shiancoe or Vernon Davis with Jason Witten, and my backups would be Hester/Stewart instead of White/Bennett.
Should I pull the trigger? I would be happy to have no pats on my team, but Randy did look good last night. That coupled with the fact that Andre did not have a good game (although he faced Darrelle Revis, who Randy gets to face this week) is making this a little bit of a decision. Seems like he is giving me a lot though.
Thoughts?
Guess we don't have to worry about the Colt's drafting Harvin...
Report: NFL prospects Harvin, Tate test positive.
Podcast: Catching up with Manning
Manning keeps a pretty low offseason profile, but covered why he wouldn't bet Tiger Woods when they played a recent round of golf together, pointed out the AFC South has all new defensive coordinators this season and joked about how he wished the Colts' trip to Buffalo was the Bills game in Toronto instead of at Ralph Wilson Stadium on Jan. 3.
Texans sorting through former Colts LBs
http://myespn.go.com/blogs/afcsouth/0-9-13/Texans-sorting-through-former-Colts-LBs.html
The Texans are sifting through former Colts linebackers as they seek depth.
Tuesday Mark Berman in Houston reported that the team hosted Cato June. Thursday Berman says the Texans are considering signing Buster Davis, just released by Indy, and that Indy free agent Tyjuan Hagler is visiting the Texans.
It's unlikely the addition of any of the former Colts would change the Texans' feeling that they want to add a beefier, more durable linebacker in the draft.
Colts linebackers are generally small and quick, and of those three, June finished the season in Tampa Bay listed at 227 pounds. Davis is only 5-9 and Hagler missed the first six games of 2008 because of a pectoral injury suffered in the offseason.
Matt Cassel traded to Chiefs
Patsies get draft picks and approximately $14 mil in cap relief. I really hope this doesn't open the door for a Pepper's acquisition.

I don't get it...
I know we don't value LB's much and I would like to have Freddy back, but it's not devastating. But that do they see in Buster Davis? He was AWFUL replacing Brackett and didn't Hagler have to come in at one point because Davis was so bad?
http://www.indystar.com/article/20090227/SPORTS03/902270420
The Colts also announced they offered exclusive-rights contracts to Davis.
Five more words need, yes!
Brackett out at least 2 weeks...possibly year
Keep your fingers crossed...
http://www.indystar.com/article/20081203/SPORTS03/81203050/1100
Coach Tony Dungy said the team is optimistic Brackett, the defense’s captain and leading tackler, will be available for the playoffs if the Colts earn a berth. That’s why Brackett was not placed on the season-ending injured reserve list.
It also mentioned Buster Davis starting in Brackett's spot. Is Keiaho also injured? I know he was gimpy in the Browns game, but came back. Same with Hagler. I thought the starting LBs would be Hagler, Session, Keiaho.
Just not our year...
The news just keeps getting worse and worse. The latest from Phil B...
http://blogs.indystar.com/philb/2008/10/bummin.html
This is down right awful. I keep waiting for us to get healthy...but that just doesnt seem like it's going to happen. I am not throwing in the towel yet, but just really sad we haven't been able to take advantage yet with a wide-open AFC.
PROVE ME WRONG COLTS!!!
serious question...
and i am not saying we lost the game because of this dude, because honestly reche 'bugeyes' caldwell could have been in there and he would have made the same plays. but didnt matt jones get arrested for cocaine? whatever happened with that? how do you NOT get suspended for a cocaine arrest, and i believe he may have had something else on him as well. just curious. again, we didn't lose the game because he played, but just wondering how he was never suspended?
Is there a worse time...
for Howard Mudd to not be coaching the team in person? I mean again, if this is an ongoing condition, why the hell do you not get it done in the offseason. Not only are the Colt's incompetent with player injuries, but it filters to the coaches as well. Unbelieveable! At least Saturday was back at practice participating fully.
Also, Polian announced that offensive line coach Howard Mudd underwent knee surgery earlier this week “to correct an ongoing and worsening condition.”
“He’s fine,” Polian said. “He came through it. He’ll be off the field for a couple of weeks. He is in contact and helping to conduct the meetings by teleconference and working on tape and game plans, etc.
“His presence will be missed for the next two weeks or so, but everything’s fine both with the surgery and we were prepared to work through the difficulties of not having him in the building.”
Pete Metzelaars, the Colts’ offensive quality control coach/assistant offensive line coach, is running meetings and working with the line in practice, Dungy said.
Injuries yesterday?
I was at the game last night and man, what a downer. Especially given the fact I had to just drive back to Chicago in a rain storm. Talk about a double kick in the balls. I also just listened to the clowns on Around the Horn bury the Colts saying they wont take advantage of Brady being out, that their window is now closed, this era is over in Indy and they should be happy with 1 Super Bowl title. Aww...gotta love what a week 1 loss to a supposedly inferior oppenent does to you. Guess we can fly under the radar all year and hopefully capitalize, but with our brutal schedule, this is going to be a tough year. I will be ecstatic with 11-5 or 10-6. Hell, just make the damn playoffs.
I know Addai and Clark were both banged up yesterday, what is their status? Any other injuries of signifigance. I will not panic unless we go into the bye week 0-3.
GO HORSE!
injuries last night?
I think I saw Santi might have nicked up his left knee and Garcon was in the locker room, but anyone else of signgifigance get hurt? Right now it seems like our biggest injuries are Saturday, Lilja, Hagler, and Rushing (IR). Anyone I am missing?
Hopefully this preseason and camp gives Polian enough sense to never accept a 5th pre-season game again. Although the last time they did it was in 2005 against the Falcons in Japan, and they team started off red hot.

Peyton is in the building...
He is still alive!!! For those of you wondering if #18 still existed, he joined the Colts today for their first practice at the new stadium. Also, Bob and Dwight were in pads for the first time this season.
From ESPN:
He appeared to walk without much problem. Manning had surgery July 14 to remove an infected bursa sac.

PUP players update from Indy Star...

Sounds like Manning is on schedule to return for the opener, but not this Friday or even next week as reported earlier. However, looks like Bob and D Free might be ack next week.
"Manning is one of six Colts on the physically unable to perform list. The team anticipates defensive end Dwight Freeney (foot); safety Bob Sanders (shoulder); and perhaps Santi to begin practicing next week. It might be another week or two before Manning and guard Ryan Lilja gain medical clearance."
Training Camp Day 1 Videos
I uploaded all my videos from day one on You Tube. Just some drills and what not. I shot these with a Flip Video camcorder thing. As you will see, it's pretty bad, especially when using zoom. Any way, gives you some sort of idea what goes on. Click here for the first video:

Peyton Manning in Terre Haute
Still immobilized...but he couldn't stay away.
http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080729/SPORTS03/80729037
Undisclosed location...I am sure he is on campus there so he can be close to the team. With that said, I am glad he is not taking questions and speaking with reporters. Let the man recover in peace! It's been 2 weeks since surgery...so hopefully in another 3 we will see him back. I am sure he will not be immobilized for that much longer either judging from Santi.
hosting space? i have videos!
anyone have a place where i can upload about 21 videos of training camp, probably about 20 minutes of total time, 505MB. let me know! and of course you will hear my dad and i make some comments. at least one sounds stupid when i ask if 32 is rhodes, then i say no 33...but he was wearing 38. it was early and i had come from chicago. i promise i know my colts better than that.
Twittering from Colts Training Camp Friday
Hey guys,
I used to go by the name of Colt4Life on this site, but changed to Matic so I could join other SB Nation blogs and not be identified with one team. Anyway, I don't post too often on the site, but I will be attending my first Colts Training Camp this Friday, July 25. To get updates from camp, I will be using Twitter. Never done this before, but looks cool. So if anyone wants to follow my updates from camp, you can do so here:

GO COLTS!
Marvin ready for training camp...
He has been cleared for practice...how many times have we heard that?! But this is good that he is not opening up camp on the PUP. Most of the PUP players are not a surprise. Anyone know what Santi did to his knee? I assume Lilja's injury is from last year and we need him healthy. Anyone know the severity of it?

Indy Star feature on Lucas Oil Stadium today
Hey guys...head over to Indy Star and check out some new photos and an article regarding the new stadium. Yesterday was the last media tour of the stadium before it opens. It seems the biggest black eye is this whole drainage ordeal and seems to be a pretty serious problem. Hopefully they can fix this and I am sure with a 750 mil price tag, they will get it taken care of. It just sucks it happens to be on the side of the data center. Can there be a worse place for water to leak? As long as the structure wasn't damaged, I am sure this will be fixed. Also, another thing I didn't like was the obstructed view seats. Those are AWFUL. Why even put those seats there? I supposed just to get more people in the building. But I would think these days that modern stadiums should not have any obstructed view seats (unless people are standing of course). I know for a fact that the Cardinals stadium has visible areas where seats could have been put in, but they chose not to because they would be directly behind the supporting beams. Looks like they decided on the opposite for the Luke. All in all, it looks to be one hell of a stadium for Indy. Now the only question I have left is...how many ounces are in those $7 beers! :)

Dungy expects Harrison and Freeney Week 1
He didn't mention Sanders, so I assume Sanders surgery was routine cleanup stuff. Like someone said the other day, until I see these guys on the field, I remain cautiously optimistic.
I am almost to 75 words, but don't really have much else to say here. Go Horse and Welcome Lucas Oil Stadium!
