Saw this on ESPN's Bottom Line Friday morning and then found the article on the Philadelphia Daily News' website. All I can say is....it's about damn time.

"The Big East very recently communicated its interest in adding Villanova as a football member," Villanova athletic director Vince Nicastro told the Daily News yesterday. "As a result, we have decided to embark on an in-depth evaluation of this opportunity."

In my opinion, this is long overdue, and considering Villanova just won the FCS championship, I think grooming them to be a solid football team (a la UConn when they made their jump) is better in the short term than grabbing, say, a Central Florida. Now, don't stop at Nova (should they accept)....grab UCF, Memphis, East Carolina, Our Sisters of the Poor....I don't care. Just do whatever you can to keep yourself a viable football conference.
