Put Chuck Ealey in the CFB Hall of Fame

He went 35-0 as Toledo's starting quarterback, but the draconian rules of eligibility are keeping him out.

MAC dominates CFL Draft

Three Eagles players were taken in the first three rounds of the annual Canadian football draft; a fourth MAC player was taken from Buffalo.

Nick Harwell 'unlikely' to play in 2013

"No change in status" for the RedHawks' top receiver is a bleak sign.

Star Wars Night at the ol' ballpark

Saturday night in Toledo -- after all, it was Stars Wars Day across this great land of ours -- the Triple-A Mud Hens hosted their own Star Wars Night, and nobody cared how the game ended.

MAC football coach Twitter rankings

Paul Haynes has more Twitter followers than any MAC head coach, and he hasn't coached a game yet.

MAC baseball in the pros: Toledo

While not rich with success, the Rockets have a journeyman major leaguer in Triple-A and a promising outfielder in Double-A.

Bryan Bullington hits a batter calling timeout

The Ball State pitcher made the Internet rounds with this amusing hit by pitch that didn't count.

A list of MAC NFL draftees, UDFAs

In addition to the seven players taken in the NFL Draft, a couple dozen more "leftovers" have reached agreements with pro teams of their choosing.

Charlie Batch is going back to school

The former Eastern Michigan and Lions/Steelers quarterback will take part in a "journalism boot camp" at Bowling Green.

NIU made an Orange Bowl profit, thanks to the MAC

EMU forward Glenn Bryant arrested for assault

A quick suspension is a nice change of pace from how Eastern Michigan handled the James Still case. But this is the team's second set of charges in the last six months, which is two too many.

Realignment fought the MAC and the MAC won

East coast teams came and went, and major conference schools joined up in non-revenue sports. In all, the MAC actually got stronger.

MAC baseball in the pros: Ohio

Or: a plea for a team to sign Gauntlett Eldemire

MAC baseball in the pros: NIU

The pro talent pool who went to NIU is meek at best.

Miami women's basketball heads Wright

After leading Gannon University to a near-perfect season, Cleve Wright is headed to Division I.

Chris Evans is shorter than you thought

Apparently many schools stretch the height of their players by measuring them in shoes, which adds about an inch. But THREE inches?

MAC baseball in the pros: Miami

Help us, Adam Eaton, you're our only hope!

Tricia Cullop staying is a win for the MAC

Ohio State opted for Kevin McGuff over Tricia Cullop, which is a clear victory for the MAC. But if this were any other sport, the outcome would have been different.

MAC baseball in the pros: Kent State

One of the College World Series darlings produced a rash of recent MLB draftees, some who have a shot at making it all the way to the top.

MAC baseball in the pros: EMU

Only two former Eagles are currently in the minor league system, but they do have the MAC's only active Major League Baseball manager.

MAC baseball in the pros: CMU

Chippewas pro baseball consists of a bearded man and a ton of recent prospects trying to follow them into the big leagues, many of them with the Detroit Tigers.

MAC baseball in the pros: Buffalo

Welp, Bull Run beat me to the punch. The only things I'll add: Chaz Mye was released from the A's after spring training and Tom Murphy was rated as the Rockies' 12th best prospect according to...

MAC baseball in the pros: BGSU

The Falcons feature two certain big leaguers, but beyond that there aren't really any players close to becoming the third.

Why you're rooting for Eric Page

The former productive Toledo wide receiver, fresh off recovering from a season-ending injury, is with his second NFL team. Who doesn't want a 5'10" wideout to succeed in the pros?

MAC baseball in the pros: Ball State

The MAC's only No. 1 overall pick in history is now pitching in Japan, but there are some Red Sox prospects with a chance to break in with a big league team, most likely in Boston.

MAC baseball in the pros: Akron

The Zips have only put three former players in the major leagues, and none since 2004.

WNBA Mock Draft includes two MAC players

The last time a MAC player was drafted by the WNBA was Stephanie Raymond of Northern Illinois in 2007. So it's been a while, despite some wonderful players in the conference since then. DraftSite did a mock of the WNBA's 2013 draft, which is next week, and they have Rachel Tecca (Akron) and Courtney Osborn (Miami) going in the third round in back-to-back selections. You'd think Naama Shafir would be someone a WNBA team would look at, but perhaps that small 5'7" frame and her injury history is causing them to balk. Pro sports teams are so fickle.
