A die-hard fan of the Columbus Blue Jackets, amateur BBQer, and professional IT Jack of All Trades. Born and raised in Columbus, OH, I didn't really discover hockey until the Columbus Chill came to town in the 1980s/90s, and my love of the sport was fairly casual until I went to college and shared a dorm room with a Leafs fan. After being converted into a hockey fan through heavy osmosis, once I returned to my hometown in time for the 2002-2003 season to check out the Blue Jackets, the (often tragic) love affair began in full force!

Offseason Musings: The Captaincy

Since we're in a bit of a dead zone between the announcement of the schedule and the start of the Traverse City tournament, it's as good a time as any to speculate about who might wear the "C" next...

Vinny & The CBJ: A Blogger's Guide to Divorce

As the NHL's offseason continues, it's become more and more obvious that the club has decided to move on without veteran winger and dressing room leader Vinny Prospal. Today, we take a look at what...

2013 NHL Offseason: Clearing The Impending Log Jam

The Blue Jackets have assembled a strong roster, but there's still room for improvement - and critically, the team has cap space to play with....but where would any new pieces fit into the lineup?

We take a look at all around threat Josh Morrissey from the Prince Albert Raiders, an offensive threat who could become a reliable blueliner in all situations if he can add some physicality to his...

NHL Draft Prospect Profile #36 - Tristan Jarry

A goaltender who has quietly improved his game as the backup to one of the WHL's top clubs, Tristan Jarry is likely to go early in the second round, and could be an option for the Blue Jackets to...

2013 Draft Prospect Profile #16: Anthony Mantha

While some feel he could be a one-year wonder, there's a lot of potential in this Val d'Or forward, and the Blue Jackets could decide it's worth taking a shot on this power forward prospect.

2013 Draft Prospect Profile #15: Bo Horvat

Our next 2013 Draft Prospect Profile takes a look at 2 way center Bo Horvat, another member of the stacked London Knights' club.

Draft Prospect Profile #9 - Rasmus Ristolainen

One of the hardest spelling names in this year's NHL draft class, this Finnish defenseman has been playing for TPS over in the Finnish SM-Liiga, and is considered one of the top blueliners in the...

George Matthews Steps Away

Blue Jackets 2013 Fan MVP voting starts today!

The Jackets are letting fans vote for the 2013 MVP, and the slate of candidates is interesting. While I have to admit my heart belongs to BOB, the other candidates (Mark Letestu, Vinny Prospal, and Fedor Tyutin) all have some pretty solid credentials. As usual, the club is also offering prizes to fans who vote, and will be announcing the winner later this summer. Vote now! Vote Often!

Making the Case - Bob for Vezina

Though a lot of Columbus fans would say that Sergei Bobrovsky is the clear Vezina winner, it's still not a done deal.
