Rochester Still Vital To The Buffalo Bills' Sustainability
While a looming extension to the team's series of games in Toronto has been garnering the most news recently, that doesn't mean the Buffalo Bills are ignoring their other regionalization efforts. CEO Russ Brandon and quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick both spent part of Wednesday in Rochester, and reiterated the team's commitment to their regional partner.
"I think it's important for us to have a presence here in Rochester just because there's a lot of support for us here," said Fitzpatrick before the Rochester Press-Radio Club Dinner of Champions. The annual dinner raises money for children's charities in Rochester, and features big-name sports talent. This year, Eli Manning was named Sports Personality of the Year, while other recent winners include Drew Brees and Cal Ripken.
"We want to give it back to the community and be able to come to events like this and the one David [Nelson] was at in order to say thank you and meet some people that are here," continued Fitzpatrick.
Nelson was in Rochester on May 18 meeting fans and signing autographs at the annual Lilac Festival, Rochester's largest annual event. He also introduced one of the musical acts, with Brandon tweeting out this photo.

"It definitely counts for something," Urbik told Buffalobills.com. "Chad started 12 games and I started 13 and we’ve got Eric (Wood) and Andy (Levitre) back so we definitely have a lot of experience in the middle. Bills Toronto Series Extension Approved; Report Says Five-Year Agreement Forthcoming
News has been bubbling about an extension for the Bills Toronto Series recently. According to a report from John Kryk of Sun Media in Toronto, the NFL's International Committee approved an extension on the series - and while no agreement has yet been reached between the Bills and Rogers Communications, we now have a little more information on what the extension might entail.
Kryk reports, citing "a source in the position to know," that the current deal would be extended by five years, with one regular season game per year in Toronto (and only one pre-season game over the length of the deal, as opposed to three). Tickets would be significantly cheaper, according to Kryk's source, and the deal is "'significantly' less lucrative" (the adjective is the source's word, not Kryk's) for the Bills than the previous agreement.

"Levitre’s play is clearly going only one direction and if the Bills can provide him with some stability in where he lines up (though he proved himself adept at providing cover when needed) then there is no reason to believe that the Bills won’t have one of the league’s best left guard’s on their hands."
Shawne Merriman Getting "Outstanding Reviews" In Recovery, Per Report
In the "Things I Didn't Use To Know" section of his Sunday Blitz this weekend on National Football Post, Dan Pompei wrote that with Mario Williams requesting to play left defensive end, the Buffalo Bills' speed rushers would be competing on the right side of Buffalo's line. Pompei also shared some news he had on one of those speed rushers, with a report on Shawne Merriman's recovery.
Merriman has been battling leg injuries for the better part of his two seasons in Buffalo. He had surgery last October to hopefully correct a lingering Achilles problem once and for all. On top of all that, the Bills will be asking him to switch to 4-3 defensive end after playing 3-4 outside linebacker for his entire career. Pompei notes that Mark Anderson will be competing to be the team's speed rusher, as well.

Nine really random things and whatever else is going on around the NFL… - NFL.com
"Officially, we’re calling Vince Young a backup QB for the Bills. Yeah, that’s what he is. And Young, no doubt, has said all the right things in his new home. He’s hoping for one final chance. But let’s be serious. Young isn’t a real backup for starter Ryan Fitzpatrick. Their styles are too different, and too much of the offense will have to change if he comes in."
Buffalo Bills Have Already Sold Out First Two Home Games
That didn't take long. The Buffalo Bills made individual game tickets available to season ticket holders on Friday, with a limit of six additional tickets per account. On Saturday, the team allowed season ticket holders to buy an unlimited number of tickets - and by the end of the day, the Bills' first two home games had sold out.
The September 16 home opener against the Kansas City Chiefs, as well as a September 30 game against the New England Patriots, have no individual tickets remaining. Team CEO Russ Brandon was quick to point out on Twitter that club seats are still available, and some blocks of individual seats have been reserved for fans who still wish to purchase season tickets.

Bill Polian On Joining The Buffalo Bills Wall Of Fame
In the wake of the announcement that former Buffalo Bills GM Bill Polian was to be inducted as the 28th member of the team's Wall of Fame, the former front office executive spoke with WGR 550 on Tuesday to share his thoughts on the honor and his time in Buffalo. You can listen to the full interview here.
Polian joined the Howard Simon Show, saying he was shocked to hear he was being honored. In fact, he was worried when he got the call from Scott Berchtold, the team's Senior VP of Communications, telling him to call Ralph Wilson's home. Once Mr. Wilson informed Polian that all was well, the news left Polian speechless.
"It means so much" Polian said. "In many respects Buffalo is home, our kids went to school there. The fondest memories we have as a family are all based around Buffalo. There’s so much emotion tied up with it, so many friends, so many great memories, to be able to come back and receive that kind of honor is an important thing for not only myself but the entire family."

With the Buffalo Bills' rookie minicamp set to get under way Friday, the team has signed six of their nine draft choices. The team announced the signings Thursday evening, and as per club policy, terms of the deal were undisclosed. They are all likely four years in length.
Agreeing to deals were the final six selections of the draft: fourth-round picks linebacker Nigel Bradham and cornerback Ron Brooks, fifth-round picks tackle Zebrie Sanders and linebacker Tank Carder, sixth-round pick guard Mark Asper, and seventh-round pick kicker John Potter. The rookies signed their deals shortly after arriving in town.
The Bills now have just three remaining unsigned draft choices in cornerback Stephon Gilmore, left tackle Cordy Glenn and wide receiver T.J. Graham. All three should be in attendance at minicamp despite the absence of a contract. As participants without contracts, they will sign injury waivers.
