KC Joyner, aka the Football Scientist, highlights the biggest matchup in Sunday's game between the New England Patriots and Buffalo Bills in Ralph Wilson Stadium. Joyner notes the Bills could give up 3,000 yards on the ground this year, something that has been done only three times in NFL history. [Ed note: Bad like in the picture above, giving up a 76-yard TD run.]

How the Buffalo Bills can still win the division : Buffalo Sports Daily
"The following is what needs to occur for the Bills to be still playing football after January 3; The Buffalo Bills win out, while the New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins lose out, and the New York Jets win no more than one of their last three games."

Buffalo Bills’ All-Decay Team : Buffalo Sports Daily
"Every franchise has its busts, but few can put together a complete lineup of failures who came with so much promise. These aren’t just any scrubs; they’re guys who, based on what was invested in them, were counted on to make the team respectable at least. " Can't say I agree with Willis McGahee on here.

Evans again forgotten on Bills' offense : Jerry Sullivan : The Buffalo News
"You have to feel a twinge of sympathy for poor Lee Evans. Good guy. Good teammate. Good in the community. Good hands. Great speed. But in his sixth NFL season, the Bills' wide receiver is struggling through the most discouraging season of his career."

Draft Order: Week 14 (Bills pick 8th)

The NFL draft order is first determined by the Super Bowl contestants who pick 32 and 31. The playoff teams are then slotted by record from 21-30 (which is a change from past years). The other 20 teams are slotted by record. The first tie breaker in the draft is strength of schedule followed by conference win-loss.

If the NFL draft were held today, the top half of the NFL draft would be as follows:

1. Buccaneers (1-12, 56% opponent winning percentage)
2. Rams (1-12, 57% opponent winning percentage)
3. Lions (2-11, 50% opponent winning percentage)
4. Browns (2-11, 55% opponent winning percentage)
5. Chiefs (3-10, 52% opponent winning percentage)
6. Redskins (4-9, 43% opponent winning percentage)
7. Raiders (4-9, 54% opponent winning percentage)
8. Bills (5-8, 45% opponent winning percentage)
9. Broncos from Bears (5-8, 47% opponent winning percentage) [Jay Cutler]
10. Seahawks (5-8, 52% opponent winning percentage, 4-6 in NFC)
11+. 49ers (5-7, 54% opponent winning percentage, 4-4 in NFC)
11. 49ers from Panthers (5-8, 54% opponent winning percentage, 5-4 in NFC) [Everette Brown]
12. Steelers (6-7, 47% opponent winning percentage)
13. Falcons (6-7, 51% opponent winning percentage)
14. Titans (6-7, 52% opponent winning percentage, 3-7 in AFC)
15+. 49ers (5-7, 54% opponent winning percentage, 4-4 in NFC)
16. Texans (6-7, 54% opponent winning percentage)

[Note: Broncos first round pick belongs to Seahawks.]

+ - If 49ers win tonight they will be 6-7 and a coin flip would determine who picks first, Texans or Niners, as spot 15.  If the 49ers lose tonight they drop to 5-8 and would pick 11.

Note : Opponent winning percentages could change slightly based on the game tonight but the Bills will still pick 8th so I published anyways.

Bills 2nd half takeaways get win over Chiefs - BuffaloBills.com
"Three turnovers by the Bills offense kept it a closer game than it should have been, but a strong defensive takeaway effort by Buffalo coupled with solid rushing from Fred Jackson and Marshawn Lynch lifted the Bills to a 16-10 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs."

WGR 550 SportsRadio - Immediate Reactions, Wk14
"Game ball: The offensive line -- This much-maligned unit only allowed two sacks, and pushed the Chiefs around for 5.7 yards-per-carry on 35 attempts. Seriously, give those hogs a hand."

Inactive Thoughts: Week 14

Demetrius Bell was added to the Injured Reserve list, becoming the 15th player on the list for Buffalo this year and moving the Bills closer to the team-record 17 they had two years ago.  Promoted in his place was OL Andre Ramsey.

The other big injury news this week is that Terrence McGee will be starting again this week after a month-long layoff.  On to who won't be playing tomorrow.

Declared out by Buffalo this week have been TE Joe Klopfenstein and special teamer Justin JenkinsKirk Chambers, Andy Levitre, Ryan Denney, Chris Draft and Jairus Byrd are all questionable as well but are expected to play.

So with the Bills getting healthier in a lot of places we'll have some tougher decisions to make.  Here's the order from most likely to sit to most likely to play:

Joe Klopfenstein
Justin Jenkins

Buffalo Bills' special teams coming into form | Democrat and Chronicle
"I just took one of the young guys aside and explained what 'backdoor ear hole' means," Bills special teams coach Bobby April said. "That's a common term that I've used (for how you initiate angled contact with an opponent). He didn't know. In terms of having a lot of different guys out there, it's been unbelievable how many guys we've moved in and out. You're always teaching, but not with that much detail (at this time of the year)."
