I was putzing around some hockey jersey and logo concept sites and it always makes me wonder about the Devils. I love the Devils' jerseys; I think the logo and traditional makeup reflects the way the organization is run and how they perform on the ice. Lou doesn't believe in 3rd jerseys, and as long as a Lamoriello is in charge, the Devils and us fans won't see one. We'll get our retro day (which is awesome) and that's close enough. But thats mean I can't dream right? I made a 3rd jersey concept that I thought I would share. What do you think? Do you think the Devils should have a 3rd jersey? If so, how and what would it be?

I was cruising through this sports logo site and tons of people throw out all types of concepts. I...

I was cruising through this sports logo site and tons of people throw out all types of concepts. I saw a Syracuse football concept that I thought I would share. It's looks like a combination of the current football and basketball jerseys. Yes, that's silver...

Brodeur Most Likely Out Against Hurricanes Tomorrow

As John noted in the recap, a 4-1 Devils win over the Habs, Marty tweaked his knee in the first period and left the game. The team is calling it a bruise, and Lemaire said he doesn't expect Marty to play tomorrow against the 8th place Canes. Depending on if the Devils call up a goalie (most likely Mike McKenna) on emergency basis, we'll get a better understanding of the severity of his injury. For now - It's Mooose!

New Jersey Devils at Philadelphia Flyers - Gamethread #47

This is the In Lou We Trust GameThread. The New Jersey Devils face a hard test when the visit the Philadelphia Flyers.

Nick Palmieri Out Against Flyers; Moose Hedberg to Start in Net

The right winger will sit out tomorrow's game with an upper-body injury suffered when he was checked last game against Pittsburgh. It's just a precautionary measure and he may play on Sunday. Palmieri sat out of practice today and Mattias Tedenby took his place with Travis Zajac and Ilya Kovalchuk (David Clarkson moved up and Adam Mair was on the 4th line). Because the Devils are playing two game in as many days this weekend, Moose will get the nod tomorrow. Marty will most likely start against the Panthers on Sunday.

Top Prospect Game on NHL Network, Today at 2 p.m EST

Top prospects from the CHL got together the last two nights and played a game last night in Toronto. For Devils fans, one of these kids may very well be drafted by New Jersey. It's on again Saturday at the same time.

Ilya Kovalchuk and Defense

There's a lot of confirmation bias when it comes to Kovalchuk. Some think phrases like 'team player' or words like 'defensive' don't mesh with him. Well Tom Gulitti has some quotes that should seriously put those some to rest. Kovy approached Lemaire and we may be seeing him on the penalty kill soon. I for one have been seeing a change in his game, and it's not just through scoring. He's been back-checking very well the last few games and stick checking in the neutral zone, slowing down the opposition's breakout. He could be a deadly short-handed threat if he excels on the penalty kill. What do you think about his play on both sides of the puck? Would you want him on the kill? Update: Gulitti did a follow up with Kovy.

The Mattias Tedenby Conundrum - What should the Devils do?

Jacques Lemaire has scratched Mattias Tedenby for six straight games. What are his reasons? Are they justified? What should the Devils do with the 2008 first round draft pick?

Anssi Salmela placed on Waivers

The defenseman hasn't really brought much to the table in his 11 games back since returning from an ACL injury. If a team claims him, he and his $612.5k cap hit are gone. If not, he's eligible to go to Albany. The Devils have 6 defensemen for tomorrow's game. Also, Anton Volchenkov will miss the next two games. With this move, it's possible Matt Taormina will start practicing soon.

Fox Sports Doesn't Know 'Cuse is Undefeated

On the bottom right of the page, it has a poll question: "Which undefeated team will lose first? Duke, Kansas or Ohio State." I would say maybe they don't think the Orange will lose, but a look at their Top 25 poll suggests otherwise (SD State is 4, SU is 5). Such Haters.

Rolston Officially Put on Waivers

As of noon today, he's been placed on waivers and any team can claim him within the next 24 hours. Per Rich Chere, other teams are interested in him. He said he's willing to accept a trade, yet that can't be done now until (if) he clears waivers. That could be the next step for Lou if no team claims him. Keep up with Twitter (Rolston search) today for up to date umm updates.

Brian Rolston Assigned to Albany Devils; Will be Placed on Re-Entry Waivers

The New Jersey Devils have assigned winger Brian Rolston to the Albany Devils. He will be placed on re-entry waivers where another team can claim him.

Devils Call Up Vladimir Zharkov (finally)

Per Gulitti, no one was sent down to Albany, which means the Devils are practicing with 23 men today. I can't remember the last time the Devils had a full line-up. Here are the lines from the link for today's practice: "Forwards: Ilya Kovalchuk-Travis Zajac-Jamie LangenbrunnerDainius Zubrus; Patrik Elias-Jason Arnott-Jamie Langenbrunner; Brian Rolston-Tim Sestito-Mattias Tedenby; Vladimir Zharkov/Rod Pelley-Adam Mair-David Clarkson. Defensemen: Colin White-Henrik Tallinder, Andy Greene-Mark Fayne; Anssi Salmela-Anton Volchenkov; Matt Corrente-Mark Fraser. Goaltenders: Martin Brodeur, Johan Hedberg."
