At the end of the day, (1-5) will always be (1-5), good enough for the bottom of the NFC West, which is not known for its consistent strength. However, a quick glance at our losses sheds some light on a season's start that has been as disappointing as it has been unbelievable. Here are some noticeable silver linings:

     1) We lost to only one team with a losing record, which came in overtime.

     2) Our three road losses were to teams undefeated at home.

     3) With the exception of San Fran, we have only lost to teams that lead (or are tied for the lead) within their respective divisions. Three of the four have at least five wins.

We’re not losing to bad teams. Furthermore, we’ve only lost one game within the division. The combined record of teams we’ve lost to: (21-12) 64% winning pct. And, to come… opponents combined record (28-28) 50% winning pct. Four of six division games are still on the table, and the only division foe we play twice is three games ahead in 1st place. Arizona also has three East Coast trips remaining, all against teams with winning records. More importantly, Seattle has only one trip to the East Coast remaining, @ Miami (2-4), and four opponents who must fly from the East Coast to Seattle.

Hopefully the Rams and their recent turnaround have changed some your minds… because its not time to pack it in just yet. We have our problems, every team does, and I’m not preaching visions of peaches and cream, because in all reality, its far fetched at best. But, we should at least hold the line, and have faith in our team and their ability (no matter how hard they may try to make us falter).

We have easily burnt off enough bad football karma in six games, to last for the remainder of the season.

Since the move to a 16-game schedule in 1978 -- and not counting strike years -- just three teams have made the Super Bowl with a record worse than 11-5:

   1) 1979 Los Angeles Rams (9-7)

   2) 1988 San Francisco 49ers (10-6)

   3) 2007 New York Giants (10-6)

   * Of which, the 49ers & Giants are tied as the worst regular-season teams to ever win the Super Bowl.

At the very least (and maybe this is the *high-life* talkin) ... please, DEAR GOD, give us one more week of believing in our heart, all that our brains have been trained to disregard.

All the best from the East Coast, an lets flip-the-bitch. Hook-em Hawks!
