Well written article about the role of closer and set-up man. Had me thinking about just how valuable Venters was this year. Also will be interesting to see who it gets closer role this year.

Talking Chop March Madness Open Thread

Since a bunch of us keep filling other threads talking about basketball, figured we should try to organize it a bit.

So far we've got a huge upset by St. Marys over Villanova. Seems nobody so far was to torn up by Nova losing. Games this afternoon to watch are as follows.

Murray (Present) St. vs Butler

3:49 Tennessee's Criminals (Sorry I'm a Florida Fan, but its not like I have much room to talk.) vs. Ohio

5:40 Somebody (Northern Iowa, like it really matters) vs. Kansas

5:40 Washington vs. New Mexico

5:45 Old Dominion vs. Baylor

8:10 BYU (I don't even want to think about this team) vs Kansas State

8:20 Wakeforest vs. Kentucky

Red Sox and Yankee fans rejoice that the other team didn't get Jason Bay. And mourn that their team didn't get Jason Bay.

Talking Chop Favorite Baseball Writers

This is my first post, but I've never seen this question asked. Who are some great baseball writers that I can read online, whether it be for the braves or in general?

I've noticed most people hate ESPN writers except for Jayson Stark. I still highly respect Peter Gammons. Also I noticed that its the general consensus that Ken Rosenthal makes most his stuff up. What do you guys think of the SI writers, like John Heyman? Anyway's who do you guys respect?
