Excellent pickup.  Cheap where Buff cost the Thrashers dearly.  Oilers did well in a sellers market dealing a surplus low round pick for post-lockout Cup experience.

Would have played more on any other team, including the Flyers.  I'm somewhat surprised he was dealt to the Western Conference, but can't say he won't make an immediate positive difference to this Oiler team.  He definitely could move up from the energy line, and doesn't turn the puck over much; given his penalty drawn/taken ratio, he takes driving to the net seriously--any more seriously and his name would be Troy Brouwer.  Not speed of most 'Hawk forwards, which may have prompted his availability, but very puck smart.
