Mile High Hockey Blue line

Foote, Liles, Hannan, Salei, and Clark are all going to play in the NHL and make big $ for the rest of their careers. If they all were to stay with the Avs this coming season, that leaves only one roster spot for Vernace, Peltier, Wilson, Cumiskey, Shattenkirk, Cohen, or Macais (forgive me if I've missed anybody). Obviously, not all those young guys will be good enough right away to make the team, and we need depth in the system in case of injuries, but I think at leastthree of them are going to get some good time in the NHL next season. Having more expensive veterans on the roster will only serve to stunt their growth in a rebuilding season. Since they have expiring contracts at the end of next year (and they won't be trading Foote...), Salei and Clark need to go in order to make cap room for a goaltender, acquiring more talent up front, Joe, and who knows where Hedman will fall in the draft. Tucker's contract is screwing us, but so are Salei's and Clark's.

Mile High Hockey Worst move ever

After witnessing the worst season in Avs history, I got to thinking about the worst management moves in Avs history. There are several obvious choices...

-Trading away Drury and Yelle

-Signing Theodore (or not re-signing him -AD)

-Signing May

-Hiring Granato again

-Signing Blake, not signing Forsberg and/or Foote

However, I could've lived with the above brain-arrhea moves had one non-team move never gone down. Hell, it didn't even last that long (thank god), but the memory of listening to "Dealin' Doug" MacCleod when John Kelly left still haunts me with a cold sweat in the middle of the night. Good to hear Peter, Mike, the Mose, and Norm will be back.
