Another close loss in a season where I am reduced to counting moral victories...we had a shot to win this one and we clearly weren't the better team...so I came away from this game feeling ok in that we showed some heart and were competitive while still managing to improve our draft position....

Here are some thoughts from the game....

1. During the Don Meredith tribute before the game - Andy Reid removes his cap while Romo stands there, hat on, smacking his gum....nuff said about that.
2. Opening play - TNew gets beat again....sigh....Philly had pulled the same thing the previous 2 games....I hope TNew is let go this offseason even if we don't have a suitable replacement....I really would rather watch somebody new get beat in the hopes that he is growing into a better player...because that clearly is not the case with TNew.
3. Marty B getting involved finally - good to see him being used in the passing game....a couple more inches on that Kitna pass and he would have had a TD...this guy really should be creating mismatches.
4. Clock mismanagement at the end of the first half...i thought that we had time to clock it, get another play off and still have the TO left....we at least had time to try another sideline pass or try something in the endzone...we really settled way too easily for the FG.
5. On the same FG note - I am surprised that Buehler does not kick the ball when Philly took the time out to 'ice' him...why not take a practice kick???  Had he missed that kick - everyone would have questioned him not using the opportunity to take a swing at it.
6. I like the way Choice hits the hole...Felix has this hop + sideskip thing....
7. Austin.....was he on the volleyball team at Monmouth???  Way too many of those this year
8. Bradie James has only 2 INTs in 8 seasons???.....how is that possible??
9. Eagles were jumping routes for the majority of the game and the first deep pass to Austin by my account is with 5:33 left in the 4thQ.

Next 2 games are very winnable....looks like we finish the season 6-10

avoiding the 50th season (2009) vs. 50th anniversary (2010) argument......

does anyone find it odd that there has been zero mention of the cowboys 50th season aside from the top 50 players in franchise history on DC.com??  Cowboys celebrated 25th season in 1984 which you would think would lead them to celebrate 50th season in 2009.....

AFL, Raiders, Chiefs, Bills, Chargers, Pats, Jets etc etc all celebrating 50th season and topic has not even been addressed by the Cowboys

it wouldnt be like Jerry to pass on a marketing opportunity...

only thing I can think of is that Jerry is trying to cash in on two marketing opportunities...new stadium this year and then maybe the 50th anniversary next year??

maybe NFL wants to let the AFL teams celebrate this 50th season this year and then NFL teams 50th anniversary next year??
