Keep Vick OFF the field

I know a lot of BGNr's are going to come back and argue that with Vick, our offense is difficult to prepair for. While I agree the wildcat can be hell on a defense, I don't think it suits us well.

How many of you cringe when he's on the field? And some of it isn't his fault, it seems as though the entire offense is uneasy with the scheme. He is an natural athlete but unless he has consistent game time in the wildcat he will not become comfortable with the roll. Maurty throws him in on 3rd down, during the tail end of a 60 yard drive- people see 7 and expect a huge play but all the defensive ends have to do is stay at home, he hasn't proven himself as a pass threat yet so why pass rush up the field? Our offense works well (even better when the other 4 of our 5 O-linemen starters are in) Why fix something that isn't broken?

Vick is a lost cause in my opinion. Our other 2 QBs are too good to have a pet project going on at our 3rd spot. Lets focus on the guys who have preformed and cut this Vick Wildcat stuff out.

And for those of you doubting McNabb, the guy has no protection- NONE. Kolb had all day in most situations. He played great but I am still more comfortable with #5. McNabb is our number 1 and there's a reason

Greg Lewis a Hero

So who would have thunk it? Greg Lewis, at 29, cut from the Eagles and the Pats this year has made arguably the greatest last minute play (along with Farve) in the history of the NFL.

With only 2 tics left in the game, on the 32 yard line looking in, and down by 4, Greg Lewis comes up the star with a leaping grab in the back of the end zone, stepped with his left foot and dragged his right for the win.

Kudos to Farve for threading the needle once again but this was Lewis's first catch of the season!

I think this is a great story. I have always liked and respected Lewis. The guy is always smiling- just happy to be playing. The real reason he even got a chance was because Childress has a soft spot for him. Don't get me wrong, I know our WR core is stronger now then ever- I just like to see guys like this do well. Feeley may be signing with the Panthers today or tomorrow...

So IF he does what do we do from here? I doubt Garcia would work for us, he's going to want money and playing time. At this point enough of yas argued against me and my opinion has changed on Kolb- not all of the credit goes the BGNr's, Sheldon went to bat for Kolb today and in Sheldon I trust. I mean hell, I didnt have faith in Juctice eather- Jason B pointed that out, look how that worked for me. Regardless, we need a back up, who's out there?

Eagles fan here

Just wanted to congradulate you guys on staying classy, staying behind Rogers and pulling through all of the mess. Rogers got his first big come back win tonight against a big rival of yours and I cant help but like this guy. Its good to see him start the season with a bang, embarass that cry baby Cutler and quite the rest of "Farve" nation. Kudos fellas. I have always respected your organization- keep it up Cheese heads- we need something to put on our steak sandwiches

Good luck this season- See you in the playoffs

BTW- none of what I said stands if we meet in the playoffs, Go Birds!

Eages fan here- Im watching the Bear Packers game right now and I have got to say, you guys came out on top of that QB deal.... 3 picks in the 1st half and he is getting blasted tonight. The game is nationaly televised, so I'm sure most of you are watching, but it had to be said. He is shook! Dude is out of his element, he looks like a deer in the headlights right now. For those who miss haveing him behind center you should feel a lot better after tonight....

Im watching Cutler literally come to realize in middle of a game "oh shit... I suck"

By the way how is Dawk doing, our new FS (rookie Macho Harris) had a great day today but I still miss Weapon X.

Hope Buchalter works out too, he is a tough dude loved by Philly who never got enough credit from the media

THere saying McNabb will be out for 2-4 weeks because of the cracked ribs. In my opinion, Kolb does not have what it takes to lead our offence. Every time he had the ball we were all cringing.

Bottom line- We need Feely back... AJ has lead us in the past, he's a vet with a lot of experience and someone who has the confidence Kolb seems to lack.

I just dont have faith in Kolb, I know he's young but I dont think he has it in him to ever be a starter.

By the way- did anyone else notice how jacked McNabb looked? Dude is in shape...

I live in Pittsburgh and I am hardly ever able to watch any of my teams on the tube let alone in person. Im planning on attending all 3 games. While I have a few buds to go with Thursday I cant find enough Phills or Rats fans to fill up the other 2 games... I just want to surround myself with a few fellow Phills fans...

Hey BGNr's- Unsettling words from Home

As I stated a few times in other posts, I now live in Pittsburgh- soon to move to MD. So the majority of my Eagles news comes from here and my Pop. This morning he told me some unsettling things that has been said about our camp. I realize things have been tough due to injuries but besides that he told me that Didinger and a few guys on WIP have been saying this is the "sloppiest" camp Andy has ever run. Also that Reid is more animated then ever, yelling and flailing off at the team and coaches. The offence (prob because of the Swiss cheese line) is not meshing and our defence does not look ready. I hate to dwell on the bad stuff but what is the word? Again, I know we have been plagued with injuries and of course the lose of JJ and the absence of old timers like Dawk, Runyan, and Tra are going to have there effects but I was under the impression we were looking like a real threat in the NFC still. I have also taken in consideration my Pop is a "tough love" Eagles fan, but still a true fan- and no news is good news from him when it comes to the Birds.

Anyone who frequents the camps over the years have an opinion? I need some insight it sucks being out here!

Im moving to Easton MD soon and I need a place to watch my birds, I asked the same question on the Phight'n Phills blog and I got the Internet package answer. Im looking for eather a few fans in Eastern Shore that might wanna meet up or a bar within a reasonable distance who has the ticket...
