J.A. Adande, formerly of the L.A. Times has written a great article on Lew Alcindor and his unstoppable hook shot. Story comes with a good video about Kareem as well.

ESPN reporting that OJ has talked to Feds.

ESPN reporting that OJ has talked to Feds.

The big thrust of the story is that his little brother is being investigated for his involvement as Guillory's go between in handing over cash. But it is very noteworthy that OJ has now talked to Federal Investigators about this.

Two things I wanted to point out about ESPN's coverage, however:
1) I find it ironic that the WWL who has repeatedly failed to beat the competition to the punch when breaking these stories, now appears very busy investigating these allegations.
2) When they broke this story this morning, the latest development in a big story it was accessible on the Front Page. Now, just a few short hours later, you have to navigate to the Men's college basketball page to find the story. AND YET, in neither case is this story being trumpeted with a banner headline. I understand this story may not merit a headline on the main page, what with all the NBA and NHL playoff news; but, is there a single story that is bigger in College Basketball right now?

Bumped. GO BRUINS. -N

I’m going to have to post here on what a great time I had at the spring game yesterday. It was great to get out to the Rose Bowl and tailgate in spring. It was great to be surrounded by not only my immediate friends and family but the extended Bruin Family as well. We assembled 3 families and 2 small groups of friends for grilling that included Carne Asada, Korean BBQ and traditional hot dogs and hamburgers. I got a kick out the kids, though. With all the tossing balls around they chose to join other kids their age in a pile of dirt, pushing little tractors around making construction noises. It was a thing of harmonious beauty. Brown kids, White kids, Koreans kids, Philippino kids all playing with each other and sharing toys while parents stood around them talking amiably about sports, UCLA, or just general life topics. The best part was when everybody headed in to the Rose Bowl, and we had everybody return the toys to the rightful owners. Seemed like all the kids were playing

As for the football, It is encouraging to see how good our defense is looking as well as our run game. Time and again my buddy John would call out either Knox or Dean on a particularly good play. Our passing game looks like it’s still under construction, but I had to remind John that it is still only spring, and we still have fall camp and an influx of talent.

Here is a photo of my pack of hungry Bruins. Make sure to post your photos! I want to see many happy families. If anybody is interested in trading recipes, I have a doozy for chicken that's simple to make and does wonders on the grill. Courtesy of John Ahmadi, Class of '05.

All told, we had 8 alumni and 7 "future Bruins" in attendance. (Oh yeah, one Trojan mom.)

Bumped. GO BRUINS. -N

Sound off if you'll be at the Rose Bowl tomorrow for the Spring Game.

By my count I will have assembled a caravan of at least 5 cars and 3 families of future bruins. We are looking at making this a yearly event. For those of us who are not big baseball fans, and find the current NBA painful to watch, this is a nice dose of football after winter.

Welcome home Rally?

I was thinking that after a demoralizing loss like the one we suffered today it would be even more appropriate to welcome the basketball team home. On the one hand, because it is family we turn to for comfort when we are down, and are we not one big (blue) family? On the other hand, It would make a great show of appreciation for our seniors who have played in their last game in Bruins uniforms.

But I have no idea when they arrive, or by what route. Are there any senior members of The Den here on The Nation that can take the initiative to talk to the administration, coordinate both with students and foagies like us on the web, but still in the greater Los Angeles area for a quick turnout? Also, if we can make a success of this next year, isn't this something we should do every year, win or lose, at the culmination of our Tournament run?

Sound out if you would like to see this happen!

I would like to start discussion about the Spring Game this year. As much as I wanted to make last year's Spring Game, I was not able to make it. I am however locked in for this year's edition at the Rose Bowl.

I'm wondering if I should treat this like any regular season, and drag out all the tailgating gear, tables, and chairs. Or is it more of a catered party for the Bruin Faithful?

Please share your thoughts and experiences.

A friend and I were having a discussion about Bruins working locally and nationally in the media. And, by this I mean in front of the camera. These are some of the names we came up with, although we're both sure there have to be many more.

Sean Farnham - Fox/Primeticket - Local to L.A.

Don McClean - Fox/Primeticket - Local to L.A.

Marques Johnson - Fox/Primeticket - Local to L.A.

Steve Hartman - KCBS - Local to L.A.

Steve Lavin - ESPN - National Audience (I know, I know!)

Who'd we miss? Feel free to name anybody you know!
